This place had an elegant feel from the moment we walked in. Between the outdoor seating, the beautiful bar, and the open kitchen, the whole place has a great atmosphere. I ordered the Fettuccine with Bolognese sauce, and added a meatball. We also ordered the Penne Alfredo with sausage so we could try both. When the plates came out, the first thing I noticed was the gigantic meatball. The fettuccine portion was generous, and the Bolognese had a rich tomato flavor. It was bold from the first bite, but for me the sauce became a little overpowering, and after a while it left a slightly metallic aftertaste. It was really good, but It was just a little too intense for my taste. The meatball was tender and flavorful, but I don't think one single meatball was worth the extra $5. The Penne Alfredo with sausage, though... that was the star of the meal. The Alfredo sauce was rich, creamy, and coated every piece of pasta perfectly, while the sausage added the perfect savory bite. I honestly wish I had ordered that instead. Hi Yelpers, I sent this directly to Lucca's 6 days ago, and have yet to hear back. Being an independent vs a chain, I guess they have different sop's for responding to concerns. For your consideration: Disappointing - and I wanted to reach out versus putting this on OT / Yelp. $307.82 including tip for the following: Made a 5:30 rsvp, even though my entire party wanted 7, but I didn't want to be rushed and have a nice table, not to mention avoiding the issues below. Checked in early, seated right away in the back room, next to a spare chair and highchair. Room was warm with one other table in it, and bright. Noted "21st birthday" on rsvp, so maybe this table was set aside thinking it was a bunch of college kids. Server, Mariam, overall was fine. Drinks were priced by city standards. "Brooklyn" was watered down and not really cold. Glass wines weren't cold. Decided to skip apps and go right to entrees because we had other birthday stops to make. Nothing we ordered should have more than a :15 minute ticket time, especially fired at 5:45. We waited 30+ minutes for entrees, which were delivered in stages - 4 entrees, then 5 minutes later, the final 2 by the same guy. Only one food runner on a Saturday night? Marsala potato side delivered 5 mins after that. The food was marginal at best. All the pasta was overcooked and really not very presentable. Sauces were breaking. Portions were smaller than last visit. We had 3 baskets of bread to make up for it. No manager check on entrees, although we did see one turning down the AC. When did table visits become optional in our business? Very good tiramisu with a candle. The 3.5% service fee is a Covid-era tactic that shouldn't exist after 5 years... We have three more summer birthdays and the group unanimously said "let's try somewhere else." But, Lucca's may have had an off night, and I believe in giving objective feedback and trying it again. So worth it, coming from the city. The place is so casual and the atmosphere and decor is simple and relaxing. You would not think it's a pizza place. It's not a bar or grill type feel. The staff is friendly and helpful. We made reservations as it can be pretty busy. Our table for 6 was the table right at the entrance where the customers come into the dining area. Also it's right where the staff comes from the kitchen with the food. We were right by the fireplace. Next time I want a table in the back area or just away from the kitchen and entrance aisle. Had to hang up my coat as staff bringing food was rubbing up on my coat as they walked by. We ordered a sausage and bacon pizza and a grilled vegetable pizza. The meat pizza was heavy but salty if you eat more than one slice. But the little guy wanted it. The grilled vegetable pizza was the bomb. You wouldn't think you were eating veggies. Free Street or lot parking. Beautiful inviting inside. I loved the exposed brick. You don't have a strong phone signal depending on where you are sitting. Quick service with very attentive wait staff. They serve brunch till 2pm, lunch, and dinner. I ordered their homemade lemonade. It was pretty tasty with the perfect balance of tart and sweet. I also ordered a small Luca pizza. I enjoyed it however I think the pizza sauce may have been missing a bit more garlic or basil. I would eat pizza here again. I liked the atmosphere as it felt warm and inviting. A beautiful bar area with televisions. A traditional Italian spot. They sale bottles of alcohol to go if you needed to entertain. Western Suburb downtown Lagrange always seems to empress me with the warmth of family enjoyment.... We tried Lucca's because we got a coupon in the mail, and got the Margherita Pizza. When we went to pick up our order, the whole restaurant was packed so if you're wanting to dine in, I recommend making a reservation. My favorite part of the pizza was the thin crust which had a crispy yet sturdy base despite being "thin". I often get "thin crust" pizza that has no structure so I appreciated that this pizza held its shape. The goat cheese was interested on a margherita pizza, but it didn't put me off. I think a little balsamic glaze would be the best finishing touch to the pizza as it was just a little plain tasting compared to other margherita's I've had. I'm giving it 3/5 stars because the pizza was $36 for a large and I don't think the flavor of the pizza was anything too special. read more

Who serves cold and stale bread but the olive oil almost overcame this. Plus why don't you mix your Caesar and have real home made croutons. Wanted so badly to like this place and don't appreciate the added service charge. Just charge the right amount for your food and pay your workers. We tried Lucca's last weekend - during the heat wave. I would have loved to sit outside - but way too hot. BUT - so glad we sat inside b/c the inside is extremely charming. I loved the different areas you could sit it - loved that they had tables of 8 - loved the brick walls. It was really very nice. Our server - Rodrigo - was very accomodating and always checking on us. We enjoyed our Red Blend wine - and was intrigued by the cocktail menu. For entrees - I got the skirt steak and my husband got the Chicken Calabrese. My husband thought his chicken was outstanding and loved the spicy calabrese peppers. He thought it was the best calabrese that he's ever had. On the flip side - I was not a fan of my skirt steak. I wouldn't say it was spicy and the potatoes were extremely hard / overdone. I brought half home and sadly, I thought it was worse the next day. This bad dish - however - will not stop me from coming back. Crust was overdone for my liking but I know some like it cooked that way. Otherwise it was good. Maybe a bit more sauce. Lots of parking mid week day but I know it's tough on weekend nights. Everything was excellent! The star tenders I would give a 10 out of 10. This restaurant is so cute. I had the Bronzino it was so yummy. I had a Paloma as my dinner cocktail and Bailey's after dinner cocktail for dessert we had crème brûlée and tiramisu. This was my first time dining in. I will definitely be back! We had our first order delivered this afternoon from Lucca's - it was probably THE BEST meal we've ever had delivered ! We started with mozzarella sticks and I liked that you had a choice of the number of pieces you wanted. Then, we each had pasta - I had cavatelli with vodka sauce and my husband had spaghetti bolognese, but made with angel hair. We will get at least 2-1/2 meals out of each of these. LUNCH REVIEW Stopped by Luccas in La Grange for lunch. I have only been for dinner and I will say lunch is a very different vibe. The menu offers soup, salads, sandwiches, pizza, and simple pasta (offering of various noodle types, sauce, and meat). I wish some appetizers were on menu for larger groups. Most customers were casual lunch goers or local business types. We walked in to "seat ourself" and were greeted by a server. After ordering, our food came out quickly. My husband and I met a group of friends here for dinner. It was difficult to find which door to enter. After figuring out how to enter the restaurant, I wanted to try some of the bread that was on our table. The first butter that I took had already been partially used by the people who occupied the table before us and put back in the butter dish. My husband found a dirty plate among the clean plates. Lucca's needs to work on their cleanliness. We came in during dinner hours. It was very noisy and I had trouble hearing people at our table. As time went on and the restaurant cleared out, the noise level became more acceptable. The bread was fresh and came with olive oil, Parmesan cheese, and butter. We ordered fried calamari, jalapeño poppers, and the antipasto plate for appetizers. For entrées we had lasagna and chicken Parmesan. We had tiaramisu and double chocolate cake for dessert. Overall, the food was above average and enjoyable. The sauces were bland and could have used some more spices. The server we had was very nice and welcoming. Waiter took a long time to come to our table initially and throughout our visit. He was very nice, I just think he was waiting on a lot of tables. Food was mid, not much flavor. They messed up my dish. Remaking it took forever. The other people with me were already finished eating so when they finally brought the dish out, I just had them wrap it to go. A good option for Italian in the area with reasonable prices and fairly good food. The portion sizes are generous and there's a good variety of items available on the menu with all the usual favorites. Service is friendly and fairly regular, and the restaurant is pretty spacious though it can feel somewhat cramped when it's very busy for dinner service. There's also outdoor dining available if you want to be spaced out a little better and avoid some of the noise issues when it's very busy. The food is overall good. It's a bit inconsistent from dish to dish but overall enjoyable. The portion sizes and presentation are consistently good throughout though. The fried calamari here is crispy with a nice slightly crunchy breading and a good way to start the meal. The antipasto board comes with a nice variety of items and is presented very nicely. In particular I really enjoyed the grilled vegetables on the plate and did like the selection of cheeses and meats. The jalapeno poppers (I apologize for not getting a picture until the plate was mostly eaten) weren't too spicy and filled with a nice amount of cheese inside. The lasagna here comes with a very generous amount of cheese and is topped with plenty of sauce. I did find however that the meat filling was a bit underseasoned and the sauce was a bit flat (could've used more herbs and spices). This can be remedied by adding some extra parmesean cheese and red pepper flakes for some extra flavor. The chicken parmesean with penne similarly had a light tomato sauce with it, which prevented the dish from standing out more. The chicken breast was tender however, with crispy/crunchy breading with a good layer of cheese on top. For dessert, I tried the Lucca's chocolate cake which was tasty without being overly sweet and had a nice dense cake texture. The tiramisu had a good texture to it and was aromatic without being excessively strong in flavor. I enjoyed the mix of expresso and zabaglione liquor which matched well with the cocoa and smooth marscarpone cheese. Overall, a good choice for Italian food in the area. I wish the cooking was consistently great between different items, but even the misses were still done fairly well and enjoyable. read more

A little slow, when we got there... we did see a sign to just get ourselves seated so we did that. Chicken tenders were over fried so wasn't a nice bite, bolognese was good, a little strong with tomatoes but I liked it. Overall a nice experience outdoor dinning.... I love this place, they make my favorite Sicilian pizza and some of my favorite hot wings. Whenever I'm in the mood for a STRONG pizza that's not deep dish, it's gonna be Luccas. They have mastered the sicilian pie like none other I've had in the Chicagoland area. Wow! Terrific Italian restaurant. Grilled calamari salad started my dining experience. But there was plenty of good bread, Parmesan, oil and peppers for whetting my appetite. My main course was the delicious Puttanesca and so much I had to get "doggie bag" to finish it off the next day. Drinks expertly prepared. The service by Rodrigo was outstanding! He made our night with his commentary on the food, drinks and desserts. The tiramisu was outstanding.
