Healthy & Fresh! We stopped in on the way home from Up North, hungry for a good meal. Boy, were we pleasantly surprised! Don't let the bar-like exterior keep you from going inside. They have their menu listed with "GF", which to me is an indicator that they care and are aware. We ordered the Chicken Gyro and Mexican Salad. The chicken gyro was tasty and had real nice lettuce and the dressing was flavorful. The Mexican Salad had crisp green lettuce and nice amount of toppings without an excessive amount of cheese. 10/10 recommend for food selection and healthy options. read more

Just moved to West Branch and this restaurant was recommended, and it didn't disappoint! Great beer list, over 100 wines to choose from (owner and Chef, Fred is a level 1 Sommelier). My Mom had a Baileys and I had a Michigan beer. We had the tomato bisque to start and both decided to have the brisket grilled cheese sandwich. It was OUTSTANDING! If you are a vegetarian this place is great because they barely put any meat on the dishes. At least that I've seen (chicken tortellini and blackened ribeye salad). When I asked for double steak on my salad they must of heard an up charge for a regular portion because they charged me an extra 3 dollars for a generous 3 more slices of thinly sliced steak! May I say though that I enjoyed the salad and the feeling of the restaurant and that's why I gave it 3 stars. The dressing was delicious and the way they blackened the pencil thin steak was great! Ironically enough though they messed up cutting the romain thin.. maybe it's Opposite Day? Ambience was nice! I enjoyed the bear theme! I'd heard good things and finally got a chance to stop in! Only room was at the bar, but we didn't mind and got to talk to the friendly folks moving about and waiting on everyone. The wife and I decided to give this place a try after all the great things we've heard about it. The food was great even though we only had the steak skewer, The drinks were good too. But here comes the 3 star statement. We arrive there Sat 2-5-22 at 330. We walk in and wait to be seated for 3-4 min and only 3 tables had patrons. Then the old lady at the hostess stand is looking around as confused, then tells us we need to be gone by 530 for guests with reservations. Then of the 15 other tables the other hostess wanted to seat us closest to the door. Will try again but definitely not a 100% on ever putting in a reservation. read more

Stopped in based on reviews. Food was delish. Good old fashioned grilled cheese and tomato bisque soup, both came out HOT (nice). The soup was so good, I got a bowl to go!! Also had the special which was brisket, lean and smoky good. Beers on tap were icy cold and delish. Great service too! Def recommend. read more

Went with my husband tonight for my birthday dinner. I got the Seafood special for $28. Very very small portion. Plus buttered noodles...seriously? Are we children. This entire was more like an appetizer. Not a dinner for an adult. Secondly, I ordered a Dark Cherry Margarita and it was down right nasty! Tasted just like cherry cough syrup! I asked the waitress if I could send it back and get something different. She said I could but I would still get charged for that drink. Owners rules. Seriously? I have never been to a restaurant that is so unaccommodating. I never got another drink. As I wasn't paying for a nasty drink and a new one. For the prices you pay to eat here you would expect more. May as well lite $80 on fire. Oh and let's not forget the 4% fee for cards! Horrible birthday dinner. Nothing good to say but our waitress was nice and friendly. I hope the owners see this! We really enjoyed Tipsy Bear. We came on a busy night about an hour before closing. The staff was super helpful and got us seated right away. Even with a packed house the staff was right on top of everything. We were helped by at least 3 people throughout the meal and everyone was very friendly. Our food came out amazingly fast. What a great find on the way up to Mackinac!! The ahi tuna was very tasty, sandwiches were flavorful but not overly salty, and chicken tortellini was a smash hit with the kid. Heard amazing things about this place from our neighbors. We went tonight and we were blown away! We started with their Cajun ribeye salad. They're goddess dressing is like a feta vinaigrette and it is amazing! For 12.00 it was big enough for an entree. Then my son had the fillet mignon medallions two very generous 4oz medallions. Cooked perfect medium rare with a delicious garlic butter cream sauce. Served with fingerling potatoes and broccoli. It was awesome! I had they're sautéed garlic shrimp with mushrooms. Our group of 14 was fortunate enough to choose the Tipsy Bear Bistro for a recent family birthday event. We sat in the semi-private room and it was just perfect. Maddy was our server and she was the best, and her support staff were all very friendly and attentive as well. The owner popped in a few times to make sure that we had everything we needed and to thank us for being there. All 14 of us agree, and that's not always easy to do, that the outstanding food, exemplary service, and quaint atmosphere made our experience there a night to remember. read more

I've had so many people tell me I need to stop in so when I was in town today on a Tuesday afternoon I did! It feels like a very casual fine dining. Not super packed but definitely the place to be. We went right in and ordered their grilled cheese brisket sandwich- WOW. This was FIRE *drooling over here*. Their lunch menu taps into a variety of genres, we couldn't tell if they were American, Italian or Asian. Regardless, we ordered their Thai lettuce wraps and kebab appetizer. I personally wasn't a fan of the lettuce wrap sauce but I loved how fresh & crunchy the lettuce was! The grilled kebab was laid on wild rice. We ordered it medium, it was okay- I could tell it was cooked but it chewed almost like it was rare...and it wasn't hot. We expected it to be hot hot. Not much meat on it either. Not hating over here, we think they absolutely killed it with their brisket sandwich though!! Their fries were PERFECTLY seasoned & had the crunchiest crunch. The sandwich & fries came out hot. I'd go back for the sandwich itself *still drooling*. If I come back it'll be for their dinner menu. read more
