Tipsy Putt has that special new venue smell -- literally everything looks and feels brand new. The space is huge, but the actual putt putt game is only 9 holes. Our family of 4 played through in less than an hour (with plenty of dilly dallying). The holes don't have much to them by way of decor, which makes the experience a little less exciting than the (also new) putt putt place in Alameda. The staff was really friendly and we appreciated how kid-friendly the whole place was. We really wanted to try the nachos but once we added them to our cart (everything is via QR codes) the total was over $27 and we balked. I'd be happy to come back and try a few beers next time. I'm hoping Tipsy Putt does well; we always need new businesses that give families something fun to do together. read more

We were able to stop by for the soft opening, and it was a cute place. We didn't get the opportunity to play mini golf but walked the little course. There were some table games like jumbo Jenga, but the noise of falling tiles were disturbing in the small eatery area. Since it was soft opening, most of the crew were learning, but even under pressure, all were smiley and welcoming. The food was pretty basic. We had the tacos, nachos, and churros. My least favorite thing but most pricey were the nachos. The flavors and the poor quality tortilla chips didn't feel worth the price. The beer and cocktails were nice. We got the chance to tour the hidden room behind the trophy wall at the entrance, which will be available for private parties. Very positive experience here at Tipsy Putt. We came during some downtime and ended up at the bar. The bartender was very kind and let us try 4 samples of a couple IPAs and ciders. We finally landed on a drink and the bartender told us a story of a coworker that was obsessed with trying out their new brews. Goes to show how dedicated they are to providing thoughtful and thorough service. The venue is smaller than we thought. The bathrooms are clean and has compostable paper towels to dry off your hands. It was a good experience. For a work party we bought 16 Groupons for unlimited rounds of putt putt and one free drink. The guy behind the counter was a little annoyed that I was trying to redeem so many but Groupon didn't limit me. I had to end up sending two sets of 4 to my co-workers and they redeemed them. We were able to draw out a mini golf game, drink(s) and some food for 2 hours on a Sunday during bottomless mimosas (for just me). The bar tender was super helpful. It goes by fast, we were able to finish the 9 holes in about 30 min. This place seems to try to be a bar first that gives you something to do on the side much like some bars have a pool table. They also have 1-2 putt, which is essentially table top mini golf where you hit the ball like you would playing billiards, but at $12 it didn't seem worth it. Given how little there is to do and how much everything costs, I probably won't be back as I can find better mini-golf spots and better places to drink. read more

Arriving around noon gave us the opportunity to look around without too many people in the way & we were kindly shown the different putt areas, as well as the secret speakeasy room & backdrop for photos. What an interesting and fun concept! We came here on a Friday night after 630pm, so it was slowly getting filled. We got a Groupon for 4 for a good price, it comes with a round of golf and a complimentary glass cup. There's also a speakeasy bar attached to it, so we grabbed some tasty cocktails that's handcrafted by the bartenders. It was empty when we arrived, so we got our drinks quickly and got to enjoy the space without the crowd. There's also a large seating area near the food area serving Mexican inspired bites and dishes from birria tacos to tacos to nachos. The prices are standard for the bay area and the portions are a little on the smaller side. The food was disappointing, hence why I'm dropping a star. The birria tacos and regular tacos were so small - you'll need at least 3 to fill you up. Also the meat was very bland. The nachos tasted like store bought stale chips loaded with uninspiring meat. The spicy red salsa was good though, wish we could get more of that but it costs extra! The nachos were a bit on the smaller side, so we had to order about 4 to feed 7 of us, with some taken home as leftovers. When you pick up the foods you can see the kitchen, which was pretty bland. Therefore the foods are the type that are quick and easy to put together. I'd eat dinner beforehand and just enjoy the bars. There is a bar serving beers, sour beers, etc in the main area. It was nice being able to grab a beer while mini-golfing. The mini golf area is a bit small with about 8ish courses. The line builds up in the evening and we were holding up people. I was just expecting mini golf but they had another game called 1-2 putt, which I personally enjoyed more. It's a table version of mini golf and the goal is to get the highest score. You have a hand held putter and your goal is to hit the golf ball into the cup with number 7, which is the highest score you can get at each table. You only get up to two attempts for each table. If you decide to use your second attempt then the score you get for your second attempt will be your score for that table. There are nine tables and whoever scores the highest wins. Anyways, it was really fun! I definitely enjoyed it more than the mini golf. I thought the mini golf was a little difficult because there were not that many obstacles like other mini golfs so you really have to be a good putter. I didn't enjoy the 9 holes they have but probably because I'm a horrible putter. It is a fun and chill place to go after work or on a date! They have corn hole, jenga, and connect 4 all around the space that you can play with. They have a huge selection of local craft beers, but their cocktails are premixed already. We didn't get to try their food but it looked like they offered Mexican food. You can order at the kiosk. Finally -- a fun and family friendly activity you can do in the East Bay with folks of all ages. I came here the other night with my girlfriend and a group of friends, and it was awesome. We usually have to drive to SF if we want to do something a bit 'unique' as we can find the East Bay to be sleepy sometimes but we were pleasantly surprised by how fun Tipsy Putt was. At around 10pm, they close down the venue so adults 18+ can play and this was when my friends and I rolled around as we were looking for something to do and remembered that this just opened up. We got a few drinks at the bar and then ordered a round of putting which was roughly 15 a person. There was a bit of a wait but it wasn't a problem at all as there's ample seating all around (where you can eat and talk with your friends), but they also had a bunch of table top games as well that were free to use, so think Jenga, Life Size Connect Four, and so on. We got the Birria Tacos to munch on and that was good but I didn't feel like ordering anything else because it was quite expensive and the menu was limited. As for the putting itself, there's around 9 courses you can play on. It wasn't the most difficult by any means but it made for some good laughs and I loved how it was themed around the bay area. It also took roughly 45 minutes to get through the whole thing. All in all, 5/5 as we love having more options to play in the East Bay. My friends and I came here on a Saturday night around 8 PM yo play mini golf. The guy in front put us on the list and said it would be a 30 minute wait. We put our name on the waitlist to enter the trophy room and was told it would also take 30 minutes. In the meantime, we went to the bar and got a few drinks. There's so many drinks on draft and we tried a few. I liked my drink, the Putt-Loma, which is a strong Paloma. We also ordered food from the food stand. The stand is automated. You order and pay on the iPad and pick up from the counter. My friends and I enjoyed the Tipsy Putt Nachos, which has plenty of queso, sour cream, pico, guac, and jalapeños. It is so easy to share and was large enough for our crowd. We also got the Mexican Chopped Salad, which was nice and light. However, I would recommend getting drinking food or something heartier. After the 30 minute mark, we asked the reception again if we can play golf and they said it would be another 30 minutes. Very limited, not too complex, and can go by fast. Thankfully, we went during a non-busy time during the weekday, but I can imagine the congestion if there were more people. My only real gripe was the food. We just wanted a simple snack to go with the drinks and got a chips and guac. I've seen the pics on yelp and the portions seemed hefty to share with friends. Instead, we got a platter of chips with ~2 tablespoons of guacamole, barely enough for 1 person. It didn't even look fresh. I don't think I'd care to try the rest of the menu at that point, given the amount of other options in the area. The customer service at the front desk was top notch, from the check-in process to the random questions we had, to when it was obvious we didn't know how to play 1-2 putt. Didn't realize they had connect 4 and cornhole until we were waiting for food so that was a pleasant surprise. Only ordered a few kids meals and initial impression was "that's it?" but guess they're good for kiddos. I showed up with a group of 8 people and the guy at the front wouldn't have it, just asked us to leave since we had outside food (only two of us had food so splitting up wasn't an option).
