I don't like to give negative reviews but this is warranted. Pizza is pretty good. But not when you are told it will be ready at 6:30 and you wait until 7:10 for pick up. This happens all the time. You think owner and staff would learn from mistakes. On another note, we went there once to eat and waited 30 minutes at our table and no service person approached us even for a drink. I've been here twice. The Bacon Lovers Pizza was too salty. The second time we went I liked my wife's pepperoni and mushroom pizza more than my sausage and garlic pizza. The big issue I had is how slow the service was. It took a while just to get our menus and the bill. Pizza took a while too. The Pizzaholics group in Facebook recommended this place and it's okay. Came back to have dinner and wow was it delicious. We ordered the Tipsy Fried Mozzarella - house made fried mozz topped with vodka sauce. It was amazing! The vodka sauce was the best I've ever had. I needed more lol so for my entree I ordered the Tipsy tomato parm, instead of wrap I got penne. It was delicious. The portion was huge! Had tons of left overs. Our server Kim was awesome. Tipsy tomato I'd say is a solid 3 stars, due to the pizza being over priced compared to the surrounding pizza places in the area , dining in expect to be waiting a while it's normally a hit or miss if you will be waiting , same with sitting at the bar, I had the bacon lover with vodka sauce and that was ok tasting definitely not worth the price they are charging for small pizzas read more

The place is larger than expected when looking at it from the outside. It has a separate bar & dining area. Service was slow, like ridiculously slow. And we were one table out of 3 that was there total in the restaurant. Food also took a while to come out, we had only ordered subs so we didn't know what the hold up was. The place was freezing, like so cold i left my winter jacket on for most of the meal. Our server was friendly, when he did come by and my meatball sub was good. All the reviews are right!!!! This unassuming corner strip mall location is the real deal! Great draft list to start with and a HUGE menu in case you have someone that does not eat pizza. I'd been craving pizza for my birthday and had wanted to come here forever so we did. My wife couldn't decide between pizza and pasta so got both and we shared the pasta as an appetizer. I had the Stiner Stinger pizza, but added garlic, though it definitely wasn't worth the $2 they added to the bill. If I'm getting garlic as a pizza topping I want GARLIC! Dessert I had the chocolate chookie which was fine, but would have been much better with a better chocolate sauce than Hershey's syrup. I have Heard Chaz talk about this place and always wanted to try it. Yesterday was a long work day for my son, his gf and myself. We were in New Haven and had pizza on our mind but had one more thing to do (a delivery in Shelton). I suggested we skip the usual pizza places and try Tipsy T because it was on the way to Shelton. We walked in at 8:20p and the sign said seat yourself so we went to find a table. The waitress was yelling at us from across the room that they close at 9p and that they were doing take out only! Have had a problem with the bar manager. Refusing to take my order. Have to get someone else to take orders. I talked to Joe about his guys attitude. He doesn't like me because I wouldn't tip him for his poor service. (Social butterfly) He said he would talk to him. So either Joe didn't or the manager doesn't care. Stopped for lunch after coming back from BPS in Bridgeport. I've been wanting to try Tipsy Tomato for some time now, I'm not in the area often, but today was the day ! Arrived at Noon, we were the only ones in the dinning area, but we could see the kitchen, and they were busy making pies for delivery. We decided on getting a large Buffalo Chicken pizza. Pizza came out after a reasonable wait. My friend and I both thought the pie was decent, very tasty. Thin crust. The spice level was spot on perfect, not too spicy, but some heat. Very satisfying. Service was excellent this afternoon also, our waitress was friendly & attentive. And the decor of the restaurant was clean & pleasing. Wait to be sat, wait to get menus, wait for our drinks, etc! hubby was very thankful they were playing the Red Sox! Tried out all the New Haven options and was looking for something different. Pleasantly surprised! Had the Nona and Tipsy Tomato pies and both were very fresh and had a great crisp to them! My only advice is don't go if you're starving. The other reviews mention a wait time and our server was covering the bar and restaurant side so he had his hands full understandably. Tipsy Tomato exceeded our expectations and these are two of our favorite speciality pizzas that we've tried! Their cheese pizza was great too. Love the tipsy calamari, I've never seen anything like it on a menu before and thought it was a great creation. The dining area was nice! Our server was a high school girl who could've been more attentive with refilling drinks, but another waiter took over halfway through our meal and was sure to fix that. Went for the first time I thought would be quick just ordering 2 small pizzas.....we waited over a half hour or more and there was only another table occupied with 2 guys and they were also waiting and I heard one of them ask the only waiter working the whole floor/bar "how much longer, I have to get going" wait some more. A customer comes in picks up 4 pizzas, comes back picks up trays of food, comes back in picks up more boxes. Obviously for a party. A business, knowing they are going to be busy and slow should tell patrons coming in that there will be a long wait or at least HIRE more people. There was just one guy making the pizza. I would have had a choice to go somewhere else! The waiter says sorry for the delay, they will be out in a couples of minutes...yea, right! Wait some more! I can tell they still have staffing issues. The night I was there recently they actually had to close early because of it. We did enjoy our meal and the staff was friendly and helpful even though the food took a while, the food is consistently good. I really love the garlic knots and the pizzas are always a win.
