I was here on Saturday evening. I ordered a plain large cheese pizza. I'd say it was pretty good with a distinctive taste, plenty of cheese which was nice. It was moderately busy, mostly takeout. The staff is very friendly and helpful, didn't have to wait long. Parking is abundant. Overall quite pleasant and good food for a chain. I'd like to try more of the menu, it's pretty big. read more

Yuck. Drove out of my way for a cauliflower crust pizza. I very much appreciate them offering it but it was loaded with so much gunk, I was bloated and full for days. My visit was also at the start of the mask hysteria and their doors were full of no mask / no service signs making me feel unwelcome despite having a mask. We was staying a the Hampton inn in Shelton . We ordered from there like we always do it was the pizza sucked when we ordered it there was DISGUSTING.The pizza tasted like plastic no cheese there was barely any sauce on my sweet chili wings so who ever made my pizza needs to get fired it's PIZZA not bread this place is a disappointment and will never be ordering anything from them . Don't eat at this place unless you want to get scammed when we wanted a refund the assistant manager was very rude . We ordered 2 pizzas online on New Years Eve and took advantage of the 2 for $28 deal they were offering. We added pepperoni to one of the pizzas and left one plain. I guess the online ordering works through a third party and that system transmitted that both pizzas were for pepperoni (which didn't work for the vegetarian in the group). Planet was so quick to make a replacement and gracious in looking into the issue and figuring out what went wrong. In an ideal world, that should be the norm, but they show the customers that they value them and their business in a way that some places don't (I'm looking at you, JetBlue). On top of that, we have found their pizza the best at satisfying our New York raised pizza appetites but with some new favorites like their grandma's pie and their amazing vodka sauce. Tonight we ordered one of our traditional weekly pizzas and I came with no sausage that we ordered so I called the store and the boy sat there and argued that I was wrong even though I had the pie in front of me and the sausage wasn't there. He continues to argue so I asked to speak to the manager. I am tired and the boy sat there and said the manager was arguing through the boy? I ordered a "a LG cheese and pepperoni pizza"...now we all know that pizza comes with cheese already but maybe I should've said 1/2 and 1/2 to simplify. All and all they messed up my order and I didn't receive anything for it and the pizza tasted pretty bad, especially for my family members who don't eat pork. I ordered wings and cheese fries. The wings were decent but the cheese fries were not cheese fries. It looks like they put a slice of cheese over fries and popped it in the microwave. Love all pizza planet locations but shelton's is great. Easy to get to, easy ordering, always fresh and ready fast. I've ordered everything from pizza, dinner sized salads, wraps to desserts. They are open late which is awesome, and allow you to customize pretty much anything. I like to make my own veggie wraps. The fresh cookies are really good too. Prices are great, portions are huge! With that said, I've gotta admit, I've been desperate a few times, and each time I say "next time, I won't order in...I'll go somewhere." Laziness Doesn't pay off!. They do pasta carbonara. I absolutely love it. I also enjoy being able to get a slice of this or that on a whim. Fried calamari is always a plus. There are a lot of cravings to sate here, even if you just want a big slice of plain cheese pizza to go. I also tried their disco fries because they sounded similar to poutine, although I believe the disco fries use regular cheese instead of cheese curds. This used to be my favorite place in Shelton. We order sometimes 3 times a week and have for years. The last several months they cannot get any orders correct. I haven't had a completely correct order for takeout or delivery in at least the last six orders. Most issues are minor enough and I just let it go. The most recent order was an online order for delivery for three items. I received the wrong salad. I called them to notify and all they would offer is a $3 store credit. I expressed that that's not acceptable and they offered a $5 store credit. I pushed harder and finally got a $10 store credit which was the cost of the salad I ordered. They told me they couldn't make another salad and deliver it because they are closing soon. (I called at 8:25 and they close at 9:30). First of all, I don't appreciate an attitude when I call to politely explain that I received an incorrect item. Why would you argue with a customer, especially a long-time customer? Secondly, I can't understand why they couldn't credit my original form of payment. Offering store credit is bogus! I'm so disappointed in Planet. The food IS great, but the mistakes are frequent and the attitudes are unacceptable. It is enough aggravation at this point that we are going elsewhere from now on. Planet's manager had a chance to smooth this over and did not. He wouldn't even get on the phone to talk with me. So, now I'm leaving this review. They're like the little girl in the Longfellow poem: "And when she was good, she was very, very good, But when she was bad she was horrid." If you order 10 times from Planet Pizza, 9 times the whole experience will be good - good, hot food delivered as promised by a competent driver - and the 10th time will be absolutely awful - we've had lost orders, wrong orders, ridiculously late orders, etc. It's the Russian roulette of pizza places. And do not expect the people at the place to be apologetic when you call to request status or complain. They offer many ways to order online, but you'll do better using Eat24.Com. (GrubHub will charge a delivery fee and they do not properly use the notification e-mail/texts. Sometimes the "on the way" communication comes after the food has already come and been eaten.) Do not expect a quick delivery, but expect a polite driver (who may or may not speak English) holding hot food when he or she arrives. They have a large delivery staff, so it is common to get a different guy every time you call even if you call twice on the same night. I have enjoyed Planet Pizza many times. I always use their delivery option and the food arrives when they say or earlier. Their delivery men are friendly, but some don't speak much English. The Pizza is good. Their Pasta is very good. My favorite is the Tortellini Alfredo and the meatballs and spaghetti. The Alfredo sauce is a lighter tasting sauce, which is the way I like it. The food is reasonably priced as well. ***Update 12-30-14*** If you had trouble with their online ordering in the past, it seems to be fixed. I used to really love this place. Years ago- it was fantastic. They serve through several apps like GrubHub and Yelp but for some reason constantly lose my order. I got a window of 25 min and showed up at 35 min just to give them the time Incase they were busy. They had 1 person in the lobby eating, and that's it.
