Tire Choice was my first choice and last stop when I needed to get a pair of winter tires. I went in looking for a specific tire which was unavailable in the region(and out of season) but the manager Patrick offered to price match a comparable tire. He gave me a couple of options,checked out back and ended up locating a better quality tire for $10 less than the unit I had been originally looking for. I set an appt to get them mounted and balanced but had to return prior to that when my spare shredded. I explained I that I'd had a flat and need the 2 tires on short notice and they made the time to get me back on the road. Patrick and the receptionist,Rachel were friendly ,informative and accommodating which really made the headache of dealing with car maintenance much less of a chore. Don't bother making an appointment. We scheduled 3 cars to be inspected 2 at 9am and 1 at 10am. By 11:30 two and a half hours later only one car was done but FAILED inspection for guess what? TIRES! We will be getting our inspection and tires elsewhere from now on. read more

Short of dropping my wife's car from the lift, it's hard to imagine how Cheshire Tire could've been more destructive and negligent today when performing a simple winter tire installation on my wife's Volvo station wagon. After a vibration in the steering wheel developed on our way home, I figured it would be wise to check the torque of the lug-nuts to make sure nothing was loose. Much to my dismay, I discovered that not only was there evidence that the car had been lifted from the improper jacking points and several of the hub caps' retaining tabs been broken off, THREE OUT OF FIVE lug nuts on the right front wheel had been so over-tightened that the threads were entirely stripped out, with absolutely no utility to holding the wheel on. I then checked every lug nut with a calibrated, professional grade torque wrench and found that beyond these three destroyed wheel studs, ALL REMAINING 17 LUG BOLTS had been tightened to nearly TWICE the manufacturers' torque specification. As if this were not enough, wheel weights of the improper profile were used to balance the wheels (one appears to have already fallen off on the 10 mile journey home), and many of the winter-tire traction studs appear to be inserted to an improper/inadequate depth (the shoulder of the stud should be flush with the tread). As a former auto tech myself, I understand that no one "bats one-thousand" and that these sorts of accidents are just one of the unfortunate realities of operating a repair shop. However, what I cannot understand, and what I find to be completely inexcusable, is that given how completely stripped out the lug nuts were on this wheel, I believe that it would be nearly impossible for the tech NOT TO NOTICE what had happened when he was installing the wheel--a torque wrench simply will not "click" if the nut is stripped and therefore cannot tighten, and even if the tech wrongly chose to forgo the torque wrench, he will certainly know when the nuts suddenly become loose while tightening with his impact gun. While I certainly hope that this is not the case, it seems a possibility that instead of owning the mistake, this tech chose to send our family (we had just picked our 7 year old daughter up from school) home with a wheel that was loose instead. read more

These guys do a good job. The problem is actually getting into see them. Called for an oil change and a wheel alignment. Booked for THREE WEEKS OUT. There's no logical way they are completely booked every single day for three weeks on end. There aren't enough people in Keene for that to be logistically possible. Getting into see them even for basic routine maintenance is like trying to get into some kind of vip club. Save the hassle and drive right into valvoline. You'll be in and out in 20 minutes. read more

Scott from Maine - My wife and I were heading to Keene from Maine and we realized we were in trouble when I decided to pull over to see what was going on. My steeling wheel was fighting me pretty good on our trip, so I took a look at my front tires (only a month old) and saw that they were worn down on the inside edge so much that I good see the fabric. I knew then there was something seriously wrong. We were about 20 minutes from Keene so my wife called Tire Warehouse and explained the situation. They said they can get us in right away to assess the situation. Thank goodness they were open on a Saturday. We pulled in and they immediately took a look. They said we were extremely lucky to not blow a tire. They found that we had a bad tire rod which of course caused our alignment to be off quite a bit. Since they don't replace tire rods, they called Tire Choice right up the road and explained the situation. Since they are a full-service business, they would be able to help. Tire Choice said no problem and was able to take care of us immediately as well. Tire Warehouse put 2 new tires on for us and then Tire Choice was able to replace the tire rod and do an alignment. We are so grateful to both places for being so understanding and giving prompt attention to our situation. We want to thank Kevin and staff at Tire Warehouse and John and Patrick at Tire Choice for their incredible service and personal attention they provided. I highly recommend both places whenever you need immediate help with your vehicles. It's not easy coming from out of state and finding a place open and available on a weekend and they were (thank goodness). read more

This post may be long- I haven't decided yet. The two men up front, Patrick and Ben, are SO very kind. They will NOT jerk you around and "scam" you. I'm from Massachusetts and am in Keene for college. This is the only place I will ever take my car to. These guys are honest, their mechanics are hard working and truly just know what they're doing. There's always talk about "We treat are people like family" blah blah blah. No. With this store- it's the truth. I can say that as a young female, I feel as though I'm getting treated right. I truly honestly believe that this is a place where parents can send their college kids knowing they won't get scammed. These guys are just honest hardworking people.
