This is not on the local team but the company, the staff locally was great an have been trying to help, with that being said: I had a very frustrating experience with Tire Choice that I feel others should be aware of. They replaced my tire sensor without my knowledge or consent and installed one that was not compatible with my vehicle. To make matters worse, I was charged $280 by my dealership to replace 1 tire sensor. After months of calling and complaining, they have yet to reimburse me for their mistake. The lack of accountability and customer service has been beyond disappointing. If you value honesty and quality service, I strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere. read more

It look 1.5 hours to plug a tire with no other cars pulled in bays for service. Then the technician could not figure out how to put the spare back under the truck bed and said the chain that holds it in place was broken. went in for 4 tires and they broke all 4 rims telling me I was getting 4 NEW rims but got 4 JUNK YARD RIMS and was told they were the same thing, just needed to be polished. meanwhile they installed 3 sets of old tires and put different dot numbers on the receipt. Now they say they did everything possible and it's my problem. Wasted a lot of time here. We had a groupon and they would not honor what we bought. Then even for a conventional oil change wanted a ton of extra money to do the service. Dishonest and poor customer service. I mentioned my groupon today in my first sentence to and he said nothinv about not accepting groupon until he took our information. Just wasted a ton if my time. Went to the Arnold store to get oil change and rotate with the Groupon I bought. The store said they don't carry the synthetic blend oil on the Groupon, then why sell the Groupon. Strange! So I went to the Sappington store and they had the oil , but didn't do the rotation. I noticed because I marked the front tire. When I went back to ask about not doing it, I was told they didn't need rotation because the tread was still good. First of all , I paid for and wanted the rotation, secondly, if they don't need rotation why didn't he say so when I picked up the car. I used to come here all the time for tires but the place has changed in a negative way. I came to get a run flat tire repaired or replaced if needed. Well this guy told me that the state of MO doesn't allow these to be repaired and it has to be replaced (odd b/c Dobbs repairs them) which was the first red flag to avoid. Then he started saying oh depending on treadwear on the others they may have to replace all 4....like wait what? I've never heard that before, ever and decided to never come here again. I came in on Thursday, June 8th because my dad sent me here to get a new tire. The actual service was good. My tire came in quicker than I expected and that was great. However, the employee who helped me out took my phone number from their system and later texted me asking me out on a date. I was very uncomfortable. I received an apology, but that does not make this okay. This is a violation of privacy, and I'm sure of company policy. I will never use tire choice again. One star feels like too much praise for them. We bought new tires here and immediately had issues. Turns out two tires were defective (early wear) and had to be replaced. They charged us half price because that is what the warranty would cover. The new tires were damaged when they were installed and constantly leaked air. So they replaced those, which also wore quickly. At this point we tried Dobbs for a different opinion and they notified us that Tire Choice sold us the wrong sized tires, which is why they wore quickly. We went back to Tire choice to explain what we discovered, since we had to replace all four tires in less than a year from our initial purchase. The guy at the register was receptive and called his manager to try to work something out. The manager claimed that the tire size was "close enough" and refused to help us out in any way. We went to corporate to discuss the situation with them and got the same response. I hate writing negative reviews. I have other things to do and I would rather come to a resolution with the company one-on-one. We are still researching other ways to resolve the situation since we have spent thousands of dollars on tires this year, but I do not want anyone else to experience the same headache. Shame on Tire Choice for being a bad corporate citizen and neighbor. Edit: Love the response below like we haven't already talked to them. Sure, we will call again but I am not hopeful. He does not keep his word, won't take responsibility for his or his subordinates mistakes and won't stand behind his brand. It's a shame how bad the place has gotten since he took over management responsibility from Carry. Tire Choice should take a close look at this guy and his work ethic, character and integrity...not much of any of those things. He was adding air at U Gas, so he just drove over to Autotire which is close to our home. The current staff was friendly and professional. Living close, he just dropped the car off to have the tire patched. They called later, to let him know the nail was too close to the sidewall to be patched. He bought a new tire and got an alignment. First off, most importantly, DO NOT COME HERE! I saw the reviewers, and I thought, oh maybe they had an off-day, unfortunately, all their 1 and 2 star reviews were probably them on a good day. Just look at the BBB listing for them, which I did AFTER constantly calling and getting the run around for 3 months. 1000 complaints. Anyway, on to my specific gripe with them. Called around to get prices for serpentine belt and front disc brake pads I needed replaced. This place gave me the second best price, and actually price-matched the lowest price I was quoted somewhere else. Went to get the repair done, no problem, price as agreed. So, I'm driving, about a day later I start to notice a weird clicking noise I have never heard coming from the tire. I also somehow lost also lost a hubcap driving somewhere around the city. Make an appointment with them to fix the clicking noise. Take it in, come to find out, whatever idiot put the front pads on apparently doesn't know how to take off hubcaps without screwing them or the tires up. The clicking noise was my hubcap, which wasn't snapped back on properly. And the other front passenger hubcap which I lost (the only one i've lost after 5 years of having my car), also wasn't put back on properly. Then the guy says, oh, we might need to fix them back on my ties. Um, no. Were they on with ties when I brought my car in? Nope. Anyways, left there that day after being told they'd order that hubcap and i could come and they'd put it back on, free of charge. Yeah....3 MONTHS later, calling, telling probably everyone that works there my problem, NOTHING. Every time, oh we don't have that in stock. Duh, that's why I ordered it - 5 times. Now I see why they have A THOUSAND COMPLAINTS through BBB. In closing - Just, please don't. There's another car place at hampton and chippewa, seriously, just not here. Left oil cap off during oil changed last March and brought it back smoking, they cleaned it and told me I would have two free oil changes because of it now they are telling me they don't recall or they do but since no notes were taken they can't value. I called about the price of two tires. The price on the phone, I thought was the cost of each tire total, mounted. That is not the case, the actual cost was 50.00 more per tire when complete than what I thought when I called. Also, they quoted me a price for one brand of tire, but they put on different brand. I took my car here to get an oil change because this is where my parents take their cars and the price seemed reasonable. I dropped off my car 15 mins before my scheduled appt. and asked how long it would be. He said there was just one car ahead of me so it shouldn't take longer than an hour. My dad lives nearby so he picked me up to run some errands in the meantime. After about an hour, we went back and parked on the side street, where we could see my car still parked in the lot where I left it. I decided to call inside and check the status. The guy Floyd told me that they were working on my car right then and that he would call when it was ready. Little did he know I was sitting across the street and could see that they hadn't touched my car yet. So my dad and I left to take groceries to his house and 10 mins after I spoke to Floyd, I get a phone call saying its ready. My dad and I were immediately skeptical if they actually changed my oil, replaced my filter and put air in my tires in that short amount of time. When we arrived to pick up my car, it was sitting outside of the garage and there was a sticker in the window stating when I should have my oil changed next. I asked Floyd why he lied to me in the phone and he apologized, saying he had made a mistake and thought it was being worked on. He then gave me the keys, which weren't mine, and eventually found my keys. He rang me up and gave me the receipt for 0.00 dollars. While I looked at it confused, he said "there is no charge". I took that as either yea they changed it but he felt bad for the service or no they didn't change it so therefor he didn't charge me. I took it to a Calverts the next day and asked them to take a look and let me know if it looked like the oil was changed. They said no. Apparently they just topped it off. The oil was not clear as it should be and there were no signs of oil drips that you would typically see after an oil change. So glad they didn't charge me for a fake oil change but never again will I give auto tire my service! read more

After frequenting the Kingshighway location I decided to try Hampton after Khwy decided to not rotate my tires after they said they would. My first visit to Hampton was just okay. They changed my oil and rotated my tires as asked although it took an hour and a half despite the fact I had an appointment. So I recently found my car to have a flat tire and I purchased the current tires at Auto Tire. I made an appointment to have the tire checked and hopefully patched which they do there for free if you bought them there. I arrived ten minutes early and ended up being there just over three hours. After one and a half hours I approached the desk and before I could even speak the obviously embarrassed fellow that works that desk tells me that he's sorry for the wait and will comp me for my oil change. After telling him I wasn't there for an oil change we had to review everything (what car I had, what I was there for and where the car was currently waiting). Yikes. He promised to deal with this and I thought "Why not? Been here forever anyway". Frustrating. It's hard to know why nearly every employee save for two or three left at 5:00pm which is why every customer got backed up and trapped in the waiting room. There were four of us. My tire needed to be replaced and the gentleman at the desk, true to his word, told very hungry and weary from waiting me how much this was going to cost. I do appreciate him following up on his promise, truly. I would've paid full price for my appointment to be acknowledged but considering the circumstances, fine. The hostage situation ended and I doubt I'll go back which is too bad since their oil change coupons are nearly irresistible. Maybe Kingshighway will be tried again if I don't need a tire rotation. read more

I had an appointment and my car went in the bay for an oil change and alignment. Imagine my surprise when over an hour later Norm tells me that my car needs an alignment! Isn't that what I brought it in for? Over two hours for this service. My advice is to get the price of services ahead of time since they aren't posted. All of the other places that I called charged $89.95 for an alignment. When I asked Norm how much an alignment was he stated $89.95 so I said yes because I had the $20 off coupon. When I went to pay he told me that he had already taken $15 off because alignments are usually $104.95 so he went ahead and took off another $5. It was still $15 more than I expected to pay. I received an oil change last night on my vehicle, and asked them to check the brakes because I knew I needed them serviced, so I wanted to know what to expect. After I left, my car brakes did not work. The brakes were not put back together fully, so my car did not have a way to stop. I used my e-brake and down shifting to get home last night. It was incredibly dangerous. I took it into the shop today and they put it back together for me. I have other complaints about the communication and the slow service times at the location, but I have been going to this one because it is so close to my home. Slow service and low communication are tolerable, but I believe the fact that my car breaks were not put back together correctly to be absolutely unacceptable. No remedies were offered by the Auto Tire. Their excuse was that I was in a hurry to leave, so they hurried through setting my car back up because they were late (past the time they committed to be complete). I appreciate they did not give me trouble about a service fee today to put my car back together. I had brought it back in to go ahead and get the new brakes, but they had it for nearly 6 hours without doing the work. The excuse was that they had to find parts - they committed to being done in 3 hours, but never contacted me to tell me it wasn't done or any sort of updates. I called when it hit the about 5 hour point, and asked them to put my car back together and I would go elsewhere. read more

If no star was a rating, that's what this business would get!!! I went to get a tire plugged at my appointed time of 2pm. While I was waiting, they attended to the needs of 2other people who were walk- ins. When they finally got to me, they stated all of my tires were slick and that I should replace them all despite the fact that my tires were 3'32. In their epic failure of a sale, they wanted to charge me $215 per tire. I told them I was not interested I. The purchase of a tire, but rather the repair of my tire. They declined stating they would put my tire on and make sure air was in it. I pulled off the lot - the low pressure light comes on instantly. I returned to inform them of the fact that they did the exact opposite of what they stated they would do which was to put sit in the tire so I could be on my way. They claimed that I was driving in a potentially hazardous situation yet you neglected to fill my tire which was at a 12 when it was given to me. I did not want them touching my car in fear of what other antics they might pull. As a woman who happens to know a little about cars, I wouldn't recommend this establishment to my worst enemy. Jamie, the so-called manager, is sexist, unprofessional, and the overall business is one that should be investigated for bogus practices!!! Have had oil changes on 2 separate cars that mysteriously requires ~$1k in repairs in 2-3 weeks following.. avoid at all costs!!

It saddens me to write this review because I used to go to an autotire in Sunset hills that was SO amazing... I took my car recently to have it looked at by a shop in Affton (they were AMAZING!), when the mechanic opened my hood he pointed out to me that my battery was leaking for A LONG TIME. How did he know this? From the battery acid EVERYWHERE on the engine and parts by the battery, I mean COVERED. It has corroded the metal clip that holds the battery in place and possibly the battery line. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own two eyes. They also are cleaning it for me since I have had MULTIPLE oil changes since this has happened and not only did NO ONE tell me but they did not clean up the battery acid OR fix the problem. I just had my oil changed last month and alas, no report of it. They also patched a tire for me and when I went back complaining of pulling and clicking, they made me feel insane and said it was fine. Both the mechanic I took it too, as well as my friend's grandpa who is a retired mechanic, feel the pulling and hear the clicking (they claim their technician could not). They said "just if it gets worse, call us!". Yeah I don't see that happening. So now I have to pay to have my tire fixed, that WAS NOT A PROBLEM, prior to them patching it. I also have to pay for this piece of the battery connector to be replaced (I don't have a problem paying for the battery, it obviously needs to be replaced) and the acid to be cleaned up...and not to mention if anything else has been corroded in this process that needs to be replaced! EDIT: When I picked my car up from having the battery replaced it turns out I WAS NOT IN FACT LOSING MY MIND when I told Autotire the SECOND time that my tire fell like it was going to fall off, pulling to the right, and clicking..they told me no one who drove it experienced any of this. Which is funny because the mechanic drove it and heard/felt it all. When they patched my tire around Thanksgiving, they did not BALANCE THE TIRES. My tire they patched was off by 2.5 ounces and the weights were off. They also put two goodyear and two firestone tires on the same side, instead of across from each other which apparently according to many people including mechanics, you don't do. OH and it's also pulling because my steering wheel is off and needs alignment, I was told my alignment was fine, guess steering wheel alignment is not included in this assessment. Finally, they told me the brakes and rotors would be fine for a few more months..my rotors and drums are CORRODED, luckily I am not driving for 6 weeks due to surgery so I can wait to have this all done but WOW am I glad I went somewhere else.. read more
