You know what sucks? Car problems. Know what doesn't suck? Tires Plus. As a girl, going into car dealerships, mechanics, shops, service centers, etc., kinda gives me anxiety. Even as a twenty something who has had a license for years, I still often call my dad thousands of miles away to advise me on car problems and yes, sometimes he'll even talk to the guy I'm working with himself. Sorry I'm not sorry. Thankfully, I've never had to do that at Tires Plus. I've only been here to get new tires and service some old ones, but I think next time I have any problem, I'll take it here before driving all the way to the dealership. These guys don't make me feel like I'm being swindled for more money by making up problems with my car. A feeling I think we all can relate to. Get this, one time I had a couple nails in my tire and they took them out for FREE once they figured out that they hadn't actually punctured the tire. I took "Eleanor" here last Sunday for her Physical and have been bringing my prior vehicles pre-Yelp. With a disclaimer that not all men - or engineers - are car experts, it looks like the guys here are straightforward or seem that way (to quote Patrick.) I originally brought my car for an oil change since my service contract with the dealer had run out. During the courtesy check, they found a couple of nails in my tires as well as that the car needed brake service. Where I say they're honest is because they did point out some service that was needed but could be left for later on. Granted they were already doing enough but that bit of honesty gets them points. As far as "amenities", it's 5-star as far as auto repair places go. The repair area was clean, as was the bathroom. The institutional chic chairs in the waiting room were in ample supply, and they have a TV plus a variety of coffees (the single serving / K-cup variety) and newspapers to pass the time. If you do need to head out, it's walking distance to a metrorail station and a quick cab ride to the Grove as well. Besides the fact that my car has been running much leaner since, the biggest thing for me is that they're one of the few shops that's open Sundays. That bit of convenience (which my dealer didn't offer) is enough to take Tires Plus into 5-star territory. read more

Everything about this place is so-so. Not the worst tire place in south Florida. Came to this location to get a battery swapped out and to deal with the slow leak that is plaguing the front of my ride. The people here are pretty chill. Not exactly friendly, but for Miami, they are pretty chill non-the less. The battery swap for my ride was under warranty and the service was quick, so no big deal there. The slow leak on my tire was a little different. I think they may have used the leak as an opportunity to get me to buy a pair of new tires, not in the budget. They told me (nicely) that there was nothing they could do to plug the tire since it was on the side. Skeptical a little bit since I have had the leak plugged before, I moved on out. I will probably just order the tire online. In short review : this place is by far not the worst place to go in Miami for car services, just don't expect anything extra than what the bare minimum that is necessary for everyone to keep their jobs. Made an appointment at 12pm beforehand for an oil change, tire rotation, belt change and a inspection. Called before my appointment to ask if they had time to do all these things and if not then I would have just come in on a less busy day. Associate said it was okay to come, cool. Dropped my cat off at 12pm for appointment Associate said it would take 2hrs to see car, fine I'll leave it no worries. I call two and a half hours to see status. Oh we haven't gotten to the car but it's up next. Okay... call again in an hour and a half oh we did the oil change and rotation but we couldn't inspect or do the belt change. When I get to the store the car had literally just been taken off the lift and only a 30 min process of oil change and tire rotation done. I asked why they couldn't change the belt like I asked at 12pm and they were like oh well we have to special order the belt. Yall serious a power steering belt super common has to be special ordered yeah okay. This place has def changed and I had been coming here for like 3 years. Just so that other people don't waste their day like me 4hrs to do an oil change and a tire rotation is the expectation they're setting even when you ask if they're busy or not. read more

Drove in to this fine establishment on a Saturday morning and the staff was friendly and greeted me right away. They inspected my car, gave me an estimate and went to work. Mario was the one who took care of my car and explained all charges in detail. I was here only to repair my front tire and they got straight to the problem without being aggressive or talking about other unnecessary things like most other places that try to sell you the entire store when you walk in. The atmosphere of this business is very friendly and the well stocked keurig machine and flat screen TV made it a more comfortable and welcoming feel. It also helps the time go by quickly. I would avoid this place at all costs. They try to scam you and are very rude. I've been to many other Tires Plus locations and have never been spoken to the way I was by the staff at this location. I was given a price for tires on a Sunday and when I returned 3 days later they wanted to charge me $200 more, and once I reminded him of the price he had given me days before, he accused me of speaking to someone else that entered a different price in the system (I spoke to the same person during both visits...). I paid for work that was not done and the parts used on what was really done were not the right ones for my VW Jetta. I had to take the car to a trusted mechanic and have the car properly fixed. I started going to this locations 5 years ago for tires and I was pleased with their service and product .So I stop taking the car to the authorized VW service center thinking that I finally have found a place where service was more affordable. But in the last 2 years I noticed that unnecessary expensive repairs are being pushed every time I have gone to rotate my tires and an oil change. BEWARE* IF YOU HAVE RUN FLAT TIRES, these guys will not patch/plug them at all, regardless of how new/worn the tire is. I have had run flat tires for years on my current BMW and Corvette and have used plugs many times without an issue. I have even had dealerships themselves plug tires for me. I suspect its a "Tire Plus Corporate" policy which would inevitably force you to BUY a new tire, but I hope this review helps anyone who is familiar with run flats and is hoping to get it plugged to avoid all Tire Plus locations as they will tell you to kick rocks. Now for my experience, I called in prior to my visit to ensure they had a specific tire size for sale so I wouldn't waste my time. I spoke to the rep and confirmed that they do have it in stock. I drove over there only to be told they "have it" it's just not there in the store and to come back tomorrow morning. -_- Not sure how I misunderstood " We have it and its in stock, you can come anytime" but I was frustrated to say the least. FORTUNATELY, there was a mom and pop tire shop 10 min away who had them in stock for much cheaper. So it ended up working out. Summary: Don't go their for them to work on your RUNFLAT tire. They mark up their tires a bit more than their competitors because their hour of operations are much more convenient than anyone around them. Their service is slightly above average. I have been coming to this TP for the longest time ( I came all the way from North Miami) because their outstanding customer service... until today. Yes, today was the last time I bring my car to this place. Their lost. I explained to Mike that my car needed an oil change and tires rotation. I bought the tires 2.5 years ago, so still have a good 2 years to go. Mike decided that rotation was not worthy because the tires were old... Really, honey??? So the very expensive sporty tires you sold me 2.5 years ago were that bad? Or you just wanted to sell me new tires??? He even included a quote for new tires in the invoice.... After finding out he didn't perform what I asked for, he gave me s**ty attitude and I had to wait even longer for the rotation. After that, he didn't want to deal with me anymore; he sent another guy to charge me for the oil change. Please, if there's any honest mechanic in town, contact me.... So after driving my oh-so-flashy Subaru 1000+ miles over my scheduled oil change, I finally decided to bring it in. If you're like me and generally don't care about the sass of your vehicle, then this is the most no frills, economic experience out there. Thanks to a web coupon (from their site), my little 'bu got its stock changed for 20 bones. There was no up-sell and the lovely man who helped me, made my experience painless... he even offered me a cup of coffee. As I typed away in the highly air-conditioned waiting room, my little car got its happy ending and 45 minutes later, we were outta there. I hate going to dealerships for car service, so I usually end up at a place like this. It's a simple garage; it just seems easier somehow. And, it's close to work and home, so it's much easier to come here for service than the two "closest" Honda dealerships, Brickell and South Motors. Guy at the counter is polite and seems honest as to what it's gonna take to fix your car. And if he's not honest, at least he does a good job of acting the part. It did take them a long time to diagnose my car's problem. The AC wasn't cooling properly, so I thought it needed a freon recharge. They ran their tests and determined there was nothing wrong with the AC, but the radiator fan was busted. Oh, and there was also an oil leak (which I kinda knew about, so they weren't BS'ing me). Other than those two problems, they said, my car was in perfect health. Which I found kinda humorous...either that or I was just trying to laugh away the pain of paying for substantive repair work. Oh well. It would have been more money at a dealership, no doubt. And I'm getting myself a new car anyway, so restoring my '02 Civic to excellent condition before I sell it to my parents at full Blue Book value was the least I could do. I love related-party transactions. So, I hoofed it over to Merrick Park for the day and let them work. They did take a long time, but they seem to have done a good job at an OK price, which in the end is about all I can ask of a garage. read more

They were very nice when it came to selling me things and taking my money. They even offered me plenty of things that I didn't need 'to be sure' or that I 'will probably need soon'. In the end, I ended up purchasing 2 new tires and an alignment. Two days later, the new tire was flat- I didn't run over any nails or potholes- and I had barely driven it 25 miles. I put air in the tire only to find it going flat again the next day. I put air in immediately and brought it in the next morning ( the air pressure alert on my dashboard had already come on again). As soon as they took the car, the guy was coming up with all kinds of excuses of why it could be my fault that the tire was flat: "You could have driven over a nail, You maybe let the air out, etc" Turns out that the tire was not put on flush to the rim and they had to sand the rim to make it flush. When I asked why they didn't check that when they put the tires on they said ' We can't know' then he said 'You have to replace all your rims, they are bad' Then I asked 'Did you check the other tires when you put them on? Or check them now so I don't have the same problem with the other tire?' "No, if there was a problem, your tire would be flat" ?!?! Overall, they should have checked when putting on the brand new tires, and apologized when I came back with a flat instead of blaming the car. I definitely have no trust in taking my car to them for any other auto needs. read more

I regularly take my car to this location for oil changes. This last time I took my car to also have them do an inspection as I was having some issues. Mario was incredibly helpful throughout everything - he even called me to come by so he could personally show me what they'd found. He was great at explaining everything and discussing his recommendations. I don't write reviews often but getting work done on your car can be stressful - you sometimes feel like the service shops are creating a laundry list of things to get you to spend more money but he didn't put any pressure on us and was really very genuine and helpful. I have been loyal to Tires Plus for over 5 years now and I've never been disappointed. This time around, I was reminded once again why I choose these guys against the rest. During my visit, changing my tires was a mission because the key to my rim locks was broken. Manny went out of his way late in the day (after they were already closed) to purchase a replacement at an Advanced Auto Parts nearby. Once he got them, he realized that none of the tools he got worked on my very special Honda Fit. Between him and Mario, they somehow got it to work after trying very hard multiple times. Any other place would've given up after the second try for sure. I had a road-trip planned for the next day and these guys made it possible!!! I appreciate how efficiently they work. This place is a total scam. DO NOT trust your car or your families lives to this unethical company. Note that I purchased my last tires from them based on the excellent reviews and my service there was good then. This is what happened roday. I went in for a tire rotation and to remove a screw/nail from my right rear tire. I also decided to have the oil changed at the same time. I was told it would be 45 mins to 1 hr. Went across the steet for breakfast and received a call in 40 mins that ge car was done. Great. I go to pick up my Lincoln Navigator. While paying the guy, I ask if they addessed the right rear issue that I explained to him (it's also on the notes of the work order) He said "I think so, but let me check". While he was checking I went out to look. Stupidly I looked at the right rear (the right rear should now have been on the front). The screw was there. They guy comes back and said sorry they didn't find it. I walked him out to show him. He said it couldn't be repaired (it's in the tread). We went in and i paid. Walking to the car it hit me.... I look at my tires and the fronts still show coning and it's plainly obvious that the tires weren't rotated. They cleaned them off to make it look like work was done. I go in and the guy says. Yeah. They couldn't get to the rotation. I asked for the manager had he comes out. Now I'm wondering if they bothered to even do the oil change. It seems that they did, given the new filers. The manager says we can fix the right rear and do the rotation for me. Hell no! I'll be filing a report with better business Monday. This employee has been trained to perform this scam and it's plainly obvious to me that it's consistantly happening at this location. No big deal to the manager that this happened. No offer of anything for his companies waste of my time, not to meantion putting me on the road with a damaged tire and tires that are coning and causing premature wearing. Knowing that I was overdue for my oil change, and thinking I needed brakes and tires, I yelped who to go to, and after reading the reviews, picked Tires Plus. I'm glad I did, and I found the reviews both helpful and accurate. I arrived as and when expected for my made online appointment. Manager Francisco greeted me, wrote up my oil change and complimentary brake and tire inspection, and pointed me to the waiting area. The waiting area was great, a Keurig with lots of choices, cups, condiments, and a wall mounted large flat screen TV made waiting comfortable. They also have a water fountain and clean restrooms. Francisco approached me about 20 minutes later and told me that I did not need brakes or tires. He took me out to the garage to inspect the car on the lift. He suggested that I might need rear links soon, but not yet. So readers: I walked in EXPECTING to pay money for brakes. I was READY to spend money on tires. Francisco did not take advantage of me. He was honest, he was technically correct, and he definitely restored my faith in humanity. It is so hard to find honest, cheap, and fast. Sometimes you can get 2 out of 3, but rarely all three together. Tires Plus on Bird Road has my business. They were all three. I had an Internet coupon that saved me money, I had the car done and returned on time, and the man was about as honest as they come since he had me right where I should have been to take advantage of me, but they refused to. Of the three above elements, honesty is perhaps the most important and elusive. I cannot recommend this place highly enough for oil changes, tires, brakes, and whatever else besides batteries they do. They have certainly earned my business and loyalty. read more

My first experience at this tires plus location was not all that. I had a leak in my tire and needed an oil change. No appt made, it took a Lil while. When I returned, they told me my tires were fine. OK cool. One day later my rear passenger side tire was basically flat... I had to return to the location to get what I needed looked at/fixed in the first place, done again. I hate the back and forth and wasting time! It turns out they didn't really look into it closely. And that there was a gigantic nail in the tire. As compensation, I think they offered me the vehicle inspection for free. The people there were nice and apologetic, which helps, but I was still a bit annoyed by the mistake. Fast fwd 8 months, and tired of tire kingdom, I'm back for an oil change and turns out I need a tire alignment and rotation. I got a manager special for a 3 yr plan. Just ask. :) They got all that done in an hour or so and on my merry way to work. Car is ready for my weekend road trip. :) read more

The guys, and gal, here are great. I've been taking my car here regularly for service for 5 years and even with an older car model I find that they are honest and helpful. I hate the places that, when even for a routine oil change, they print out a list of "urgent" things you must have fixed and Tires Plus doesn't front. The guys who work here are all very friendly and cool. Every time I go to get an oil change, it never turns out to be just getting an oil change. I got all 4 new tires and maintenance done here for an affordable price and having the Tires Plus credit card has really helped me pay off that bill easily with 6 months no interest. There was only one incident where they ordered a specific car part for me, and when I came in that day the part was somehow missing. I get it. Shit happens. The guys realized they dropped the ball and took care of the situation. Whenever something goes wrong with my car, I always have the momentary thought, "Do I really need to get this fixed?", like when the tires are balding, or when the Check Engine comes on. I can just ignore it...right? The guys at Tires Plus Total Car Care were polite enough to tell me exactly what would go wrong if I chose to ignore it. Apparently, the check engine light doesn't just turn on when the gas cap isn't tight (though that's a pretty common cause), but it also does it when the coolant sensor isn't working. These guys gave me the list of what needs to get done to my car, and the consequences of ignoring each issue. I mentioned that I am on a budget, and the gentleman that was assisting me tried to include every possible discount, including coupons from the website, or just something that he would be willing to discount personally. Overall, his wonderful customer service saved be about $50 off the original quoted price. He gave me an accurate time when my car would be ready (within the same day), and sent me off to take the trolley to work. While getting your car fixed is slightly less pleasant than a root canal, this place makes an attempt to make it less miserable. Waiting here isn't very pleasant, as the History Channel is always on (watching a documentary about Nazis in America made me a bit uncomfortable while waiting for my tires), the chairs are padded with metal frames for that modern-cheap look. But they do serve free coffee! This place is the best place I've found in the area for the price and convenience of being right off Ponce and the trolley. read more

These guys really know how to make it happen. Last time I went there the store was completely slammed. Manny along with Mike were able to quickly and efficiently attend to everybody in the store. I was really surprised how helpful they were to every single customer including myself. This is probably the 4th-5th time I do maintenance at this specific location because of how great they treat you treated. They treat me and my beat up 220k mile VW like if it was a Lamborghini being serviced at the collection. I have never experienced this kind of service in a shop or the dealer. I have been coming to this location on and off for many years. My last visit here will definitely be my LAST visit ever to this location. I needed an oil change and Tires Plus was running a special so I took my car in. About an hour and a half after dropping off the vehicle, I received a call and was told that they were finished with the oil change. Next came the laundry list of things that the car HAD to have done IMMEDIATELY such as filters, and tires, and axles, oh my. The estimate was pushing almost $850 and I was not prepared to get the work done at that moment. I told the person on the phone that I would bring the car back the following Sunday to have the repairs done. About 15 minutes later I arrived at the store and paid for the oil change. Upon looking at my car I saw that it had greasy handprints on the hood, both fenders, both doors, and on the glass. Even worse, there were greasy handprints on the inside driver's side door panel, steering wheel, glove box door, and center console. I proceeded back into the store and told them about the greasy handprints both inside and outside of the vehicle. The counter person simply pointed to where the paper towels were kept so, presumably, I could clean up the mess they made. You've got to be kidding - talk about the worst customer service ever. Seeing the complete lack of care they had for my vehicle, I lost any faith I may have had in them to responsibly complete the recommended repairs the following weekend. When I arrived home, my lack of trust in their abilities was confirmed. I checked the oil level in my car and it was one quart overfilled. Running an engine with too much oil is a great way to ruin an engine...I'm just lucky I noticed. I ended up taking my car to my mechanic, Julio, at All Import Tech. If any of you fellow Yelpers are interested, All Import Tech has a rating of 5 stars with 181 reviews so far. Julio replaced my bad axle while I waited and his labor charge was about half what Tires Plus wanted to charge. In addition, the axle that was installed by All Import Tech has a lifetime guarantee as opposed to 12 months that Tires Plus was offering. Do yourself a favor, don't go anywhere near this Tires Plus. Bad service, high prices, and a dirty vehicle are about all you can expect to receive. As a longtime customer, I can hardly express my disappointment enough. STEER CLEAR. read more

My husband went by with my car and showed Manny López what needed to be done, and what tires needed to be changed- when I took the car in Manny told me he knew What needs to be done- he changed the wrong tire! That had just been replaced by Mercedes----!!!!My husband notice 2 Days later and went this morning to ask why the error, and they just of course washed their hands and blamed everyone but their own error! Worst tire place and worst customer service, lied and didn't finish the process they said they could do. Took my tesla to get the tires/rims changed to the 20" induction wheels. We spoke on the phone and I asked specifically if they work on Tesla and if they will be able to complete the process including tpms sensors and etc. and they said yes. Now car is not recognizing the tpms sensors and not reading the wheels. I called Tires Plus again to ask if they can reset the sensors and they said they don't have the software and I have to take it to tesla.... after they specifically said they can work on it. Now I am forced to basically do the process twice with tesla and pay again. The manager was not helpful at all and I already filed a complaint with corporate over them not communicating their service properly. read more
