Although I was about to purchase a hot tub from a large, well known dealer in Corona, I decided to look at Custom Spas Direct, which has good online reviews and happens to be very close to our house. I'm glad I did. I was not familiar with the Vita spa brand that Custom Spas Direct sells. There's very little information available online. After doing some digging, I determined that Vita is a decent, mid-range spa with competitive pricing. Nothing fancy, but it's built with good components from companies like Balboa Water Group. Dealing with Custom Spas Direct has been fantastic. It's a small company and we interacted directly with Jim Galpin, the owner. Jim is a straightforward guy and he was very helpful in choosing a spa. Since I was unfamiliar with Vita, I had a lot of questions and he patiently answered all of them. He quickly responded whenever I sent him a text with a question or request. After the purchase, he was super flexible with regard to delivery, setup timing, coordinating with the electrician's schedule, etc. The delivery and setup was quick and well done. The installer did a good job answering all of my questions. We've had the spa six months and have had a couple of minor issues. One was probably due to user error on my part and the other was not. In both cases, Jim responded to my texts immediately and quickly resolved my issue, even during a holiday week. I'm so glad I purchased from a local dealer that provides such fantastic service after the sale. I'm sure a larger dealer would not have given us the same treatment. Thanks Jim! Five stars!

When I gave him the check for $900 my wife said he could just take that money and cash it for himself and not even order a Jacuzzi top for us amongst other things. I thought she was paranoid. Turns out she was right. When I was in 2nd grade my teacher asked us what we wanted to be when we grew up. Some of the kids said astronaut, or engineer or professional athlete, etc. Imagine what Chad would say: "I want to be a crook, and a liar." Chad would grow up to be exactly as imagined. I went to the showroom to pick out tile for the waterline and they had so many options to choose from. We decided to go with the pebble tec (because of the longevity aspect) the day before they were going to plaster and they were so accommodating. Once the work started, they finished the project very quickly. Working with Fred and Eddie throughout the whole process was such a pleasant experience. Because of this undisclosed transfer, a single month fell past due. Instead of addressing the situation professionally, OC Pool and Spa sent a rude text message claiming they had mailed the bill and insisting we had received it, while demanding immediate payment. When I requested an emailed invoice for clarity, they refused and said they only mail invoices. Just two days later, I received another text threatening legal action over one month's past-due balance. This type of treatment toward customers is unacceptable. The lack of transparency, refusal to provide proper billing options, and the hostile approach to communication reflect very poor customer service and business practices.
