Possibly darker than used to working with the tattoo I got was supposed to be a It doesn't look anything like the picture I gave him the tattoo scabbed up. There was liquid coming the scabs however, thankfully it wasn't infected. The colors were awful during the tattoo. Michael took several smoke breaks not sure the purpose of that. I think it was quite disrespectful of my be the reason that the quality of the tattoo is very poor. Now I am forced to go and fly somewhere to get a cover-up done in South Carolina. The is amazing. $207 fucked up double angel bite piercings done here by Jess with a $40 tip and they didn't offer me any compensation when I didn't want to be re-pierced by them, and they said I am no longer welcome at their business despite never being rude. One of them was pierced crooked and I was experiencing pain after a week so I called and came in and they confirmed and pulled it. I got conflicting information between the front desk and piercers. The front desk said I needed to wait 4 weeks to get it re-pierced. When I showed up with the pain after the fucked up piercing, Bonnie, who I am assuming is the most senior piercer, told me I could come back in to re-do it anywhere from 2-4 weeks, alluding to the idea that once it is "basically healed" it could be re-done. Very confusing. Nevertheless, I found this out when I came in early by 2.5 weeks. I was then called 4 weeks later to confirm the re-pierce and told them I pulled the other piercing and no longer feel comfortable having the other one be redone by them. I would rather just redeem it for in-store credit. They then told me they would call me back. They called me back and told me they could either re-pierce it or give me nothing, and that after that they would no longer like to do business with me ever again and that I am not welcome in their store (I was never at any point rude or disgruntled despite having the right to be pissed that they fucked up the piercing and I've been waiting a month for the services I paid almost $250 to be corrected). With price, I had called two other shops before Titan Tattoo, and the hourly at Titan was the best I found, and in general competitive with other shops. I feel like I got a great piece for the price I payed. They do not take a deposit, rather you can cancel/back out by calling, but if you don't show up for apt you are charged something. I got a small semicolon tattoo, my fourth tattoo. The artist left spots not filled in, tried to talk me out of my placement because "that's not what most people do" and was quite expensive compared to so many other places for what I feel was half effort work. I went to get the same tattoo for my mother and it was almost half the price and they stated she went too deep and scarred it (this was a separate place). She offered to fill it in for free within six months (right after I got it) but there's no way I'll ever go back. Not to fill in her work or the other work I had hoped to get. If you are looking for a shop to get a tattoo, please READ my review. I know it's lengthy but I hope it helps answer some questions similar to what I had before I got inked and helps you decide where to go to get your next tattoo (which should be TITAN and I'll explain why). Having said that, I am not from Nashville and actually planned a getaway with friends. We all decided to get tattoos (I've wanted one for 15 years but was never brave enough to pull the trigger) and we had NEVER been tattooed before. I knew my concept and it meant a lot to me, so a bad tattoo would have been DEVASTATING. I am a researcher and wanted to make sure I made the best choice possible, so I got online and started researching tattoo shops in Nashville (ok borderline obsessed with finding the perfect place). I read LOTS of reviews (good and bad) and narrowed down my choice to 4 shops in Nashville. I emailed all four shops a few months prior to our getaway weekend. One never responded to my email, another said they could not do what I wanted in the time I had for the price I could afford (their hourly rate was RIDICULOUS), and the 3rd one did not really seem interested in the business. The fourth shop I emailed was Titan Tattoo. Karen, the owner, responded to my email quickly and thanked me for my interest in her shop. I arranged through email a phone consultation and instantly connected and felt comfortable with Karen. She answered all my questions very professionally (some of them were ridiculous I'm sure) and seemed willing to work with me on my concept, time window, and pricing. We paid our deposit and kept in contact for the months leading up to our getaway. She listened to my ideas and would redraw to add things I wanted. She personalized my tattoo and I was VERY happy with what we came up with. My husband's artist was Michael and he was just as amazing as Karen at helping him finalize his concept and come up with a killer trash polka tattoo. Time came for us to fly to Nashville and we went to the shop to meet everyone in person. I was SO impressed by how clean and well maintained the shop was. The artists were friendly and very helpful. You could tell they truly care about their craft and create quality art and tattoos. She explained the whole process to us step-by-step and detail-by-detail. I was so grateful and what she told me about aftercare was spot on. When it was my turn for my 4-hour shoulder piece, Karen was AWESOME! She was such a perfectionist and did AMAZING work. I could not believe she could get that much detail and definition into my tattoo. Getting tattooed was painful but totally manageable. You could tell she knew her craft and it healed very nicely. Clean lines, great shading, no trauma to my skin, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Everyone in our group felt the same way (we had 3 different artists) and my husband's 2-hour trash polka piece looked sick. I was so pleased with how well it turned out. So long story short, Titan Tattoo is EVERYTHING you are looking for. DO NOT be nervous about going to this shop. They are VERY professional artists and run an EXCEPTIONAL business. They have fair pricing and AWESOME customer service. I HIGHLY recommend Titan Tattoo and will go there again.
