We just finished a complete renovation of our pool with Oscar's Pool Service, and I can honestly…read moresay it was one of the best decisions we've made as homeowners. When we bought our house three years ago, we knew the pool needed to be redone. Unfortunately, because of other major repairs, we had to wait. Our house was a flip, and whoever patched up the pool before us did a quick, cosmetic job that started falling apart within months. The plaster came off in sheets, the 1960s tile was covered in decades of calcium buildup, the coping was old red brick with mortar literally crumbling out, and some jets and plumbing didn't even work. The pool was technically swimmable, but it was depressing to look at. This summer our weekly pool cleaner told us the plaster was about to fail completely, so we started calling around for estimates. Most of the big corporate companies gave us inflated quotes and made us feel like just another job number. A trusted friend recommended Oscar's, so we checked Yelp, saw all the great reviews, and gave him a call. Oscar came out immediately, took careful measurements, walked us through every detail, and his knowledge and professionalism instantly won our trust. From there, the process moved quickly. Within a week of signing, his crew demoed the entire pool in just a few hours. We got to choose tile from several suppliers and ended up with a beautiful pebble mosaic that matched our house. At first, we thought we'd keep the old red brick coping, but at the last minute we switched to a modern dark gray brick. Best decision ever! It completely transformed the look of our backyard. As often happens with older homes, surprises came up: our original 1964 gas and electrical lines were corroded and had to be replaced. Oscar handled everything--brought in trusted contractors, coordinated the work, and saved us the headache of dealing with multiple companies. While we were at it, we upgraded our equipment to a top-of-the-line Jandy system with Wi-Fi controls, plus added a heater and automatic pool filler. Yes, the budget went up, but every upgrade was worth it. Watching the transformation was amazing. Once the new tile, coping, and plaster went in, it felt like we had a brand-new pool built from scratch. The white plaster makes the water sparkle, the equipment runs quietly and efficiently, and with the heater and lights, we can swim comfortably day or night, year-round. Beyond the work itself, what made the experience so special was Oscar and his family. He's personable, honest, hardworking, and clearly cares about his craft. His crew was professional, respectful, and fast. By the end, it felt like we weren't just hiring a contractor--we were working with people who truly cared about making our home better. Now every time we step into our backyard, we can't believe the difference. What was once an eyesore is now the centerpiece of our home, and we're enjoying it constantly. If you need pool renovation, plaster, tile, coping, or even just reliable weekly service in the San Fernando Valley--call Oscar's. He's the best! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3DKKSP_c4UY

The entire process was smooth from start to finish. Heinz and Ana were present and engaged throughout the whole project. They really listened to what we wanted, communicated clearly at every step, and made sure the final result turned out exactly as we expected. It's clear they take a lot of pride in their work and care about getting the details right. We're extremely happy with how our pool turned out and have already recommended them to several friends who are planning pool work of their own. We wouldn't hesitate to work with them again.

Highly recommend GC Pools for pool restoration…read more After meeting with several contractors, we found that many either said our restoration couldn't be done, underestimated the scope of the project, or tried to upsell us to a complete rebuild. Our goal was to restore and salvage as much of the existing pool as possible rather than replace it unnecessarily. We were dealing with a substantial 45-foot structural crack, and Heinz was the only contractor who accurately assessed the scope of the repair from the outset and quoted the job realistically, so there were no nasty surprises along the way. He was honest from the beginning, set realistic expectations, communicated well throughout the project, and delivered on the quick timelines he gave us--even during peak season. These qualities made the overall experience a very positive one, despite a few colour-matching hiccups that were ultimately addressed quickly. We'd happily recommend GC Pools to anyone looking to restore their pool.

Couldn't be happier with how it turned out. Our project manager Tamir was exceptional -- responsive, organized, and clearly invested in the quality of the work. He kept the job moving at a surprisingly fast pace and promptly resolved issues as they arose. Pricing was competitive -- we got multiple estimates and Way To Go came in reasonable without cutting corners. You can see it in the finish quality: the stonework is clean, the tile on the curved bench is precise, and the side yard pathway turned out better than we imagined. Our pool cleaner gave high praise on the resurfacing work when he arrived for the first cleaning! Highly recommend for anyone looking to transform their outdoor space -- quality work, fair pricing, and a timeline that'll surprise you.

The remodel included changing the old plaster to mini pebble, installing new tile, adding a new LED pool light, and doing the deco seal around the pool. The finish came out great and it completely refreshed the look of the pool. Once all the materials were ordered and ready, the actual work was completed in about a week, which I was really happy about. Tamir kept everything organized and the crew stayed on schedule. I also appreciated that he was able to accommodate a couple of last-minute additions I requested during the project and made sure everything was taken care of. The crew did solid work and the pool looks great now. I'm happy with how everything turned out and would recommend Way To Go Builders if you're planning a pool remodel.

Fred was able to give me a plaster estimate over the phone, but he came out personally to evaluate the leak situation. As it turned out, I needed to replace my old copper plumbing lines and reroute them under the brick decking. It was a major job, especially because the concrete beneath the brick was much thicker and harder than expected, requiring significantly more demolition and labor than originally anticipated. What impressed me most was that even though the project took longer and required more work, Fred honored his original quote and never tried to increase the price. That's rare these days. Many contractors would have adjusted the cost once the unexpected challenges were uncovered, but Fred is a man of his word. Once the demolition was complete, everything else went smoothly. Fred was on-site throughout most of the project, supervising the crew, answering questions, and making sure the work was done right. I also upgraded from standard plaster to mini pebble, and the finished pool looks absolutely amazing. On top of that, Fred told me that if any issues come up down the road, all I have to do is call and he'll take care of them right away. Professional, honest, reliable, and stands behind his work. I highly recommend Fred and Deluxe Pool to anyone looking for pool remodeling, replastering, or plumbing repairs. Thanks, Fred!

The straight up lies and being treated like an idiot are unbelievable. If your chemistry is done right, there will never be an algae build up and no special treatment is necessary. Over a period of a couple months, I called several times and no returned calls. After sending another Yelp message and informing owner that messages were left on voicemails and no returned calls, this Yelp message would be my last attempt to contact him for an appointment and for him to return my call. I am not in the habit of chasing down professionals in order to do business. He retorted that he is sorry I had trouble contacting them. (No statement as to why my calls were not returned, or that he got my messages) But, then stated he was "declining my request". That's professional! It's been a real challenge to find anyone that really understood how our system was set up given the DIY nature of the original installation. I left a message on Thursday and Steve returned my call promptly that evening and came out first thing Saturday morning to do an inspection. He spent a good hour and a half going over all of the components and analyzing what was causing certain of the jets not to function correctly. While we almost certainly will need more extensive work done in the future that will involve ripping up concrete, Steve was able to at least adjust some of the various settings enough that we can enjoy the spa again. His pricing was more than reasonable for the work done and the time spent. It was obvious how much experience Steve has and he took the time to walk us through what he was doing, even to the point of showing us some actual sample parts similar to those in our spa which he had in his bag and demonstrating how they work so we could better understand the inner workings of the plumbing and the jets. Honestly, what a pleasure to deal with a consummate expert who is willing to share his knowledge. Even more importantly, I did NOT feel like he was talking down to me as a female homeowner, which tends to be a recurrent problem for us women when engaging with certain contractors. Thank you, Steve, for your fast and courteous service and your expertise!
