We tried them on a whim and the portions are generous! We had the #1 rice combo with Pinakbet and Ginisang Monggo--delicious and filling! We came around 11:30am, hoping for breakfast but missed it. There was a long line but it moves fairly quick. We also ordered one chicken inihaw that my husband enjoyed. Unfortunately, they ran out of the pork inihaw and had barely started grilling more. The wait time would have been much longer. The costs were around $22 including tax and a Diet Coke. There was plenty of seating but it's first come first serve. The parking lot was chaotic--no surprise there but we were able to snag a spot. Overall, this is a great turo-turo spot! I'd come back.

This was our first visit here and we now understand the reason for their incredible reputation. My mom's father was Filipino but, unfortunately, didn't know anything about the culture or food. My husband had beef adobo and he loved the savory and juicy meat. My mom tried the chicken adobo and she was very impressed. I chose the kare-kare, simply because someone recommended it. This stew is hearty and warming; definitely an order again item. I wish I had been able to try the garlic rice, but you have to get there early or it's gone!

Always excellent Filipino food here. The line is always out the door on Saturdays. Many families coming to eat Saturday and Sunday breakfast and lunch. My Husband and I came to pickup 100 tray lumpia and large tray pancit for a family party event. To pickup preordered catering, you enter through the ice cream counter door (door closest to Valerio's Bake Shop next door). That way, you can pay by card and they will bring your catering order out on a cart. This was the shortest time we waited to pickup catering and it was great. Thanks Tita's for always making great Filipino food! I wish that that made chicken or veggie lumpia but I love the pork lumpia that they have.

Of course Tita's is the best go to for fast Filipino foods. Of course we never learn, and always over order resulting in leftovers for days! Everything was typical and filling for the most part. They do not have hot sauce and their chicken Adobe was extra sour this time around. But now I know my kiddos prefer the BBQ skewers out of everything we ordered& of course the lumpias.

You definitely want to come early if you plan on ordering here because the food sells out fast and the lines can get crazy. That alone should tell you how good this spot is. I never remember the names of half the dishes here, so I usually just ask them what's good and try something new every time. So far, everything I've ordered has been a hit. The pancit and rice are a must though. I order those every time. The chicken adobo is really good too! If you get overwhelmed trying to decide, they do have combos which makes it a bit easier. But if you're a real foodie and willing to take a little risk trying something new, this place is fire. Prices aren't bad at all, the portion sizes are generous, and the flan is actually really good too. I got to try the ice cream and it was a hit! I got pandan and ube. Portion size was great and price was even better. Customer service is friendly and helpful, especially when you're standing there like me trying to figure out what to order. Just come early.. because once they sell out, that's it.

Tita's in National City never disappoints!! Best sinigang there is :) they are quite generous with the sabaw and gulay as long as you ask! I also order lumpia here, especially when I am catering for parties. I typically call the day before and morning of to confirm my order for pick up. They are long pieces and def worth the cost. They serve other delicious Filipino cuisines as well that remind me of my childhood. An honorable mention goes to the prom and chicken bbq. I have to buy a couple skewers because they're too good not to! I always have a hospitable experience there. If you're looking for Filipino home style, check out Tita's!!

Wow, husband and I are still trying to figure out how we missed this place when we came to the bakery a couple of doors away! So I was craving a certain Filipino dish, diniguan. And most of the ones I have tried does not compare to moms cooking. Because of mom's health she no longer cooks.... Husband was so kind listening to my food cravings and doing research, he found this place. First, this place is located in strip mall mostly made of food stops. Secondly and importantly, the parking is no joke! Come early and watch where you park. The parking is not plenty and the area is narrow, making it a challenge to see when pulling in or out of a parking space. When you get out of your car your sensory will be on overload on the aromas that seem to hook you by the nostrils! You walk in the restaurant and you will see the tables most likely all taken. How it works is you walk up to food counter and select what items you want. They offer different platter options. It was a lot going on up the food menu on the wall above the staff. Behind the counter it is well staffed so even though the line may be long it moves pretty quickly. Husband and I decided to go with a two item platter. My platter I choose half and half (rice and noodles) . My two items were chicken adobo and diniguan. We got an order of lumpia too. I found the chicken adobo to be pretty good! The chicken portion was pretty good. With chicken adobo there seems never to be enough of the sauce to saturate the rice. The diniguan to my surprise passed the test! It was tasty and had the right balance of flavors! I saved half to share with mom and she liked just as well. A plus for us is they serve seltzer (soda water)! They do have a self serve water station off to the side. The lumpia was good, but I probably would try one of the skewers next time. I forgot to mention that we had to ask to share a space at a table with another couple as there were no more open tables. They gladly shared. There are not outdoor seating. I would definitely visit this spot again.

Came in at midday to a line of about 15 people in front of me. After trying titas, I can see why they're always busy. I got a two item combo and opted for the pork adobo and the chicken curry for my two items. I opted for the half rice and half pancit, and added a few lumpias. While checking out, I've noticed barbecue chicken skewers being cooked over an open fire, and added that as well. They were very generous with the portion sizes, easily making one combo good for three to four meals. My favorite was the barbecue chicken skewer, which was perfectly flame grilled and tender. The pancit was also very flavorful. Everything was delicious and I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the area! As for ambiance, it's a takeout style place.

The line can get a little long but Service is very fast food looked delicious and fresh. They kept it coming, prices are fair. I wanted to get fish a two piece combo but it was an additional seven dollars for the fish so I just got rice and diniguon I like the diniguon a little bit more vinegar, but it was still good. There's some seating for sitting down no special decor pretty basic.

Late post! Was recommended by daughter to try the chicken BBQ here so had lunch here after a 2 hour trip ! There was a long line as expected due to lunch rush hour! This fast food restaurant offers variety of Filipino dishes in 1-2 entrees combo plates like Kare kare Bistek Sinigang Lechon kawali Bbq skewers Lumpia Menudo Fried fish Pancit Adobo and many more Ala Carte items are also available for take out! I was just not expecting a cold reception from the staff serving behind the hot buffet counter ... the hospitality warmth greeting I didn't feel while picking my 2 entrees!!! Food was ok ! Amazing large cut portion of the skewered Chicken BBQ made my day ! I am not sure if it will be fun to have another visit ! But I still recommend to give this location a try for the food experience !!

This restaurant was suggested to me for the best Filipino food and it didn't disappoint. Good food with large servings. Very friendly customer service and clean restaurant.

The hype is real for this restaurant. It's always busy regardless of the time you go. The portions are very very generous where we shared a 2 item plate and still had leftovers for the next day. We stopped in since we were in the area and ordered a 2 item plate with pancit. Pancit- very yummy. Reminds me of my friend's grandma cooking Pork adobo- very tender meat in a sour sauce Bbq pork skewers- this was so good, sweet and tangy sauce and very tender meat Lumpia- so good and perfectly crispy Definitely worth the wait. Will be back to try their desserts.

The food at Tita's is good and consistent. I also like that they open early to get first pick of their menu items. This time around I made the mistake of going around noon, so the parking was a mess, and they ran out of sisig :( Service is friendly. The line seems long, but it moves fairly quickly.

Ask the Community - Tita's Kitchenette

Are there vegetarian options for the pancit and lumpia? I'm not looking for a tray, just interested in stopping by for lunch.

Unfortunately no. The lumpia and pancit both have pork. I believe their laing is vegetarian however. For the items that do have pork, you can ask them to just not put any in your container and they will scoop around it if you're open to that!

Do they have anything gluten free?

Almost everything there is gluten free. It's rice and meat or vegetable dishes. The desserts are made with rice or rice flour. Only thing to avoid are like the lumpia because the wrapper may have wheat or any of the breads. Now if you are sensitive… Read more

Is the only way to communicate with them for catering, to call on the phone or go there in person? I don't see a website or email option.

    Yes.

    Do they have letchon?

Not Kawali or Asado. But they have lots of pork dishes like pork adobo, bbq pork, pork Sisig and more. Not all items are offered every day or every hour. The kitchen has a schedule for dishes. Check with the counter staff if you want something… Read more

    Do they have lechon?

They have Lechon Kawali, but not every day. They change the variety most the time

How far in advance do we need to order party platters? And Can someone tell me the ingredients in…

A day in advance is enough to order, but if you're ordering a really large amount of food I'd do at least two days in advance.

Yes do they make their lumpia with beef?

I'm pretty sure they're pork. Don't quote me on it. Will find out for sure and follow up with this inquiry.

Do you need reservations to dine in?

Nope! But be prepared go mid week and midday. They tend to sell out

The number is now disconnected. Are they still in business or is there another phone number?

Still in business and busy as always!

    Is lechon offered daily?

I visited 4 times in 4 days but I did not see Lechon Kawali or Lechon Paksiw offered.

Do they allow you to call in an order for take out (and avoid line)?

I believe so, I've seen people come in amd pick up plenty of times as I stood in line lol 😂

    Does Tita's still sell turon?

They had it the night I was there.

Is Tita's allowing customers to dine-in or is it takeout only?

When I picked up food yesterday there were people eating inside. There's only a few tables available though.

Is there breakfast in the am?

    Yes

How much is their medium for sinigang?

More than their small, but less than their large. JK 😉 You can be guaranteed they will give you… Read more

It seems that whenever I get called to Chula Vista, National City or Mira Mesa, there's always a lola waiting for me with a broken PC and a plate of pancit or a freshly-fried stack of turon. Years ago, knowing that those friendly, insistent ladies will offer to feed me, no matter the time of day, I started scheduling appointments to their houses at lunchtime, because, well, it's just bad manners to say "no, thanks, I already ate." On my own, I learned to love kare-kare and the popular Pinoy variants of pork. I still crave the Rellenong Alimango (stuffed crab) I had, years ago, at a Filipino food stall in Singapore. After the bars close, I'll often hunt down a plate of sisig. And I'll follow any such meal with something sweet, like hopia, halo-halo, or anything ube. But I'm also a big fan of Filipino breakfast, and that's where Zarlito's comes in. I've never eaten there after 10 am, and while I'm sure I'm missing a lot of good stuff, I've been happy with the breakfasts I've been served, not least because the ladies running the place are kind, always seeming tickled to see a large white man enthusiastically chomping through plates of their food. Pleased to stumble upon this food truck on our sunny morning walk in North Park on Saturday. His…read morebright food truck was parked in front of one of our favorite coffee shops. Unfortunately I didn't bring my wallet so I had to drop off Theodore and circle back. We asked how long he would be there and we had roughly an hour to return. I hustled home, grabbed my credit card and high-tailed it back! Since it was still morning I only limited myself to just one food order. I was seriously debating between the pork lumpia and Malasadas. Savory always wins! Ordering and paying was easy peazy lemony squeezey. They are rolled and fried fresh when you order them so I didn't mind the wait at all. He gave me a beeper and told me to wait 5 minutes. $15 dollars for 6 long lumpias. On the menu they are described as jumbo, but the are long not wide. I popped into the coffee shop because they had a feature baker pop-up. I sat down only a few minutes and the beeper buzzed. These pipping hot golden deliciousness was handed to me with the box opened for optimum crispness. They smelled so good but I had discipline to wait until I got home and not burn my mouth. The lumpia were sprinkled with Microgreens and showered in fried garlic which was a very nice touch to elevate the lumpia experience. They were served with the classic sweet chili sauce, a generous amount too. I only needed half and I dipped before every bite. They were more reminiscent of long cigars than the lumpia I'm used to, but very yummy! I'll have to try the chicken adobo next time.
