This is a solid place for pho if you are downtown. I been here on many occasions but recently, I have come to really enjoy their pho. This occasion we ordered the pho ga, vermicelli bun and a grilled pork bahn mi. The overall meal was delicious and it was solid. It will never be like what I can get in San Francisco, but it's good worth checking out. It's counter service and they are friendly and efficient. The premises are clean. Remember to bus your dishes after your meal.

It's good if you want something cheap fast and near the campus. Other than that, it's nothing spectacular.

I visited Bon mi while on a work trip to Eugene Oregon. I felt like getting some Pho since it was a nice fall day here. I found this place on Yelp and it had descent reviews so I went here with my co-worker. We were pretty impressed. First off the broth was very flavorful and had the Pho scent which was delightful. I ordered a small bowl which cost $9.50. They used the right thin Pho noodles and the meat was good. The only think this lacked was Thai Basil, instead we got cilantro, bean sprouts, lime, and jalapeño slices. Overall the Pho was good for bring in Oregon. Service was good. You basically order first, grab your number, and the deliver your food. You clean up after you're done. Location is clean, descent amount of tables and seats. I'd come back here if I'm ever in Eugene again .

Imagine it's Memorial Day weekend and every place is closed, but you want a hearty meal at a decent price, and quickly. Don't be fooled by the oh so many 1 star knocked off because of one thing they are guessing is going on in back of house. Their banh mi is hefty, but not overwhelming and the aoli is this savory guide to the incredibly crisp and crunchy flavors of the vegetables. Their pho in small was more than enough. They have a combo for both, it is crazy good and filling. Is it the best? Maybe not, but for the price, the speed of service, the comfort and the ease of getting what you want. It deserves each one of these stars. The tarro Boba tea is on point as well. Don't miss out on some of the best 16 buck lunch or dinner in the Euge.

I have been going to Bon Mi for years because their banh mi sandwiches are my favorite. Their pork banh mi was my favorite before I quit eating meat. Now I always order the lemongrass tofu banh mi. Their pickled radish and carrot topping is excellent. I ordered mine with extra along with extra jalapenos. I also ask for it to be made vegan which comes with no aioli nor fish sauce. The baguette that their sandwiches are made on are crispy on the outside and fresh on the inside. The only complaint about this rest is that my order is rarely made correctly as in once out of ten times. So be very explicit and allow extra time for remakes if you have specific requests. Tonight's order was ready in five minutes. I appreciated the fast service.

I met some friends at Bon Mi and we all got the size small bowl of pho, which was perfect for one person. I always end up with leftovers at other restaurants that only serve the standard size bowl, and I've found that re-heating pho at home renders it a little inedible. Bon Mi offers counter service, which is, by far, the easiest way to pay when eating out in a group that's all paying separately. In addition to the complication of multiple orders, my friends and I have a variety of dietary restrictions, but we all found something delicious to eat. I'm truly sick of restaurants that just have mediocre vegetarian options. I love to eat out, so the mediocrity of available vegetarian options was a big reason why I started eating chicken again. Things have gotten better in recent years, but I digress. I tasted what my vegetarian friend ordered, which was the tofu and yellow curry pho, and it was soothing and flavorful. I wish it came with more vegetables, but the broth, which can make or break pho, was incredible. I had the pho ga, which was equally as great, but I think I'll try the yellow curry pho next time. We also shared the salad rolls, but they were pre-made, wrapped in plastic, and mainly filled with iceberg lettuce. However, I can look past that for a great bowl of pho, which Bon Mi undoubtedly serves. I will definitely be back for my own bowl of yellow curry pho!

Half grilled pork banh mi. Not big at all.

TL:DR - A good fast casual joint. Pork banh mi was good at lunch time (some people said grilled pork gets dry at dinner). Banh mi is untraditional in that it comes with mayo and no pate. Banh mi is average size, unlike other reviews. So half banh mi is going to be pretty small. Half soup though is plenty. Spicy beef soup is NOT spicy pho, it's more like Bún Bò Huế. Slightly sour, plenty spicy. Price is average. Biggest gripe was that high chair is stored in bathroom. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Fast casual Viet spot that hits just enough of the check boxes to come back again. The thing I love the most is they have a soup and sandwich combo, cause there are plenty of time where I want both. And whomever said the banh mi are huge, is clearly on something, cause the banh mi hear are very average if not a hair below avg, so if you're getting a half sandwich, this is like a dinner roll and a half. The half soup is a lot of soup, but I'd probably want a full sandwich and half soup and you get a more equal portion of each. We came in for lunch on a weekend, and I thought the grilled pork in my banh mi was more than adequate. Seems like people complain a lot of about the pork for dinner, so just something to keep in mind. The banh mi was definitely not traditional in the sense it's served with mayo and not pate. I'm not Viet myself, so I'm ok with it, but just be aware. I got the spicy beef soup. Please kno that the spicy beef soup is NOT a spicy version of their pho. It's much closer to Bún Bò Huế, which is a different thing. Either way it was delicious. Hint of sour, and plenty spicy. The price was as expected. Service was unmemorable (not good nor bad). The place wasn't the cleanest, but nothing I'd get super upset about, plus they were busy. One thing that did raise an eyebrow was that their high chair was kept in the bathroom, which isn't the first place I'd like to see the high chair stored as a parent. We def gave it a wiping down. All in all, pretty good fast casual spot, but I do hope they find a new spot to store that high chair.

My husband and I were on a road trip, this spot was suggested by a local as the best pho. We enjoyed a delicious Vietnamese dinner, the beef pho had a light, fragrant broth with thin slices of meat and rice noodles. I also tried the Banh mi sandwich with beef, this was absolutely DELICIOUS! the bread was crusty with a light and fluffy center, meat was rich and tender, topped with a sweet mayo sauce and crispy refreshing veggies! Yum yum yum. This is a must visit for delicious, filling food. The prices are reasonable too. Tip- add the chili oil to your pho for an added kick of heat!

I dislike when restaurants skimp on the fresh ingredients, but this was perfectly balanced. Bun Thit Nuong: The vermicelli bowl was tasty, though the noodles were a bit too al dente at first, so I mentioned it to the staff, and they promptly communicated with the chef to correct it. The pork belly was a highlight - very flavorful! Pho King Special: The broth was incredibly authentic and served piping hot - I was very impressed. The bone marrow and brisket were standouts, and I love that they offer it this way, as many places don't. It reminded me of how my family always served pho, and it's the only way I'll have it! A fun tip: try dipping the donut into the broth. My grandfather always did it, and it's a legit way to enjoy the meal.

But the market parking is always full, so parking is challenging here. First impressions weren't great in all aspects... there were 3 tables in total but we had to wait to order. Although we did get the complementary shrimp chips and water immediately. THE WATER TASTES FUNNY... like a hint of dishwashing liquid was still there, it was not just me, I asked the entire table and they agreed. It's a great space so definitely hip... but not without a cost... trendy location means higher burden for the business and higher prices. I didn't think I'd see a pho special priced at $24 yet in Oregon but here we are. Granted bone marrow is not cheap and it's a very unique rendition. The other problem is the volume of noodles... literally the cheapest part of the dish... there was very little for a $24 bowl. We asked for extra noodles and they obliged for $2. Also that bone marrow was DIVINE if you're into that... but yet again... it's "butter" so what do I eat it with? The tiny amount of noodles or the fried donut that has a lot of oil content as well... my answer is... MORE NOODLES! Oddly enough the bun xeo which usually is a lot of work to put together the omelette was a good value. Yet once again just the lettuce pieces. I'm comparing to pretty much every PDX joint... which gives more than 3 lettuce leaves... because honestly the omelette has enough protein to make at least 5. They need to rethink this. Certain herbs are harder to get and we're in Eugene, the palate is different but more than just mint would be nice. Flavor wise it was fine... and I enjoyed it albeit on the tame side. The Staff was very attentive on water refills and clearing dishes. A lot of potential... but some things are just off balance.

I went in expecting a quick bite and left wondering if I should cancel my flight and commit to a long-term relationship with their menu. The service was the kind that makes you feel like a regular even if it's your first visit: attentive without hovering, friendly without forcing it. You know, the sweet spot most places miss by a mile. The ambiance strikes that rare balance: polished enough to feel like you made a good decision, but relaxed enough that no one's judging you for aggressively enjoying your curry. Now, the portions. Let's just say I arrived hungry and quickly realized I had made a tactical error by also having a flight to catch. The plates are generous. Borderline ambitious. Under different circumstances I would've happily taken half of it home. And the price? Genuinely refreshing. You get high-quality food, generous portions, and excellent service without that subtle sting of regret when the bill arrives. It feels almost suspiciously reasonable. I came here on a Sunday afternoon and the restaurant was bustling. We got seated right away at a booth with a window view. My waitress was an older Asian lady. She was very nice, not too talkative, but she was on top of her things. I was craving soup and decided on the highly recommended tom kha with tofu. To start, we had thai tea, thai coffee and the shrimp triangle. For our entrees, we decided on the pad see eu (they spell it pad se eu here), panang curry. The shrimp triangles were very yummy. Definitely get those. The thai tea and coffee was good, but just a little watered. I expected the taste to last in my mouth for a little bit. But it didn't. For the soup, I was excited to taste the soup! It smelled really good and it was boiling hot. My thought after my first sip of Tom Kha was, ok, this is good, they got it, but it just wasn't quite there. I couldn't pinpoint what was missing. Then I figured out that they didn't use full coconut milk. It was just a little bit and it was the lighter version. How disappointing! I wanted the robust tang, spice and coconut like how I have at home. The entrees made me sad. I really, really wanted to love it. The panang curry should be rich, thick and creamy. Instead it was soupy. I was really expecting and wanting the curry to stick to my rice, but instead it made soupy curry rice. My daughter pointed out that the curry and the tom kha soup was the same color and consistency. I didn't want to believe, but I think they used the same base and added the appropriate toppingss and seasonings to make a soup and a curry. My saddest dish was my last one that came out. It was the pad se eu. The wide rice noodles was wet and in broken pieces. I'm Asian and I'm from Vegas via Hawaii which means we have a lot of Asian cuisines, we know our food and have friends who work in high end Thai restaurants. (Think Lotus of Siam) When rice noodles break into smaller pieces, it means the noodles are probably not fresh and got hard. To soften, the cook used extra water and the heat was not high enough to cook, so it stuck to pan, making the cook mix it around more...broken wet noodles that doesn't brown. Overall, I really wanted to love this place. It has potential. Maybe it was an off day but on that day I went, it didn't give me the wow I expected. Most of the items has the taste on point. Please don't water down the curry or use lower fat coconut cream. I'm not used to having regular brocolli in thai food either, but I guess this is what Eugene likes or what we can get. And people, share your food! Thai food is family style! Share it! Put it in the middle of the table and let the other person have some! I was people watching around my table and my table was the only one that didn't have our own entree per person. lol
