Well, that mental note was worth the paper it was printed on because after about 15 minutes of driving around and exploring Raleigh, my car decided it was done. Oops. Fortunately, I was able to coast to a safe spot and figure out my current address. And even better, there was a 4G so that I could boot up the GEICO app and request assistance. Just under 30 minutes later (they promised 45), this gentleman shows up with a can of gas. We poured it into my car and made sure it started up and then he was off. Friendly, helpful and "Yes, this really happens all the time" so I didn't feel bad about being an idiot. That was all on me.
