I was thrilled to see an email on Saturday saying we were welcome for the 2nd tasting of the day and then filled with panic as I saw when it was sent, didn't have service and that time was quickly approaching. Thankfully i got wifi, replied that we would love to be there, got a reply saying we were good to go and off we went. I will thank our luck a large amount on the weather as many people cancelled due to pouring rain and flooded roads. The roads are rough, especially in the rain so a larger vehicle or a tour driver would definitely be beneficial but we made it happen. Upon arrival we were greeted with hugs, conversation, drinks and blankets and it honestly felt like we just showed up to the home of a family member. With the weather, it ended up just being the two of us and another couple who drove out for the day and previously was married at the vineyard which made for the most intimate afternoon tasting. My fiancé (oh that's still weird to say haha) is not really a wine drinker and I don't usually drinks reds but we both loved all 3 years of the tasting and the tapas that come with each were so delicious. One of the pairings was a taco with meat that I don't eat so I gave it to him and was more than thankful when Hilda noticed and asked her team to make a potato taco for me to take part. With the impeccable vibes, Carlos decided this was the right time and place and completely unbeknownst to me he had let James and Hilda know about his plan and they assisted in the greatest intimate proposal I could have ever dreamed of, rain and chilly temperatures and all. After our tasting we all spoke around the table like we had known each other for years and it really was the most special day and experience I could have ever asked for. We will definitely be back sooner than later, especially since we both fell in love with not only the humans on site but vineyard good boy Corcho. Thank you both for your hospitality, I honestly can't express it enough.

We've been coming to Valle de Guadalupe ("VdG") for about 15 years now, and this is one of our favorite wineries, and wines. Service is excellent. In the past, we had Alex Rubio pouring for us, and on our most recent visit, Julio Cesar took care of us. They're family owned/operated with estate grapes, and they focus on Italian style wines (Sangiovese, Montepulciano, an Italian blend which includes Nebbiolo, Sangiovese & Montepulciano.), as well as the classics: Tempranillo, Malbec, Merlot & Cabernet Sauvignon. We shared both tastings, so we could try everything. They also have a Tinto de Verano/Sangria ($120 Pesos/$7 USD) for those non-wine people, like my mother-in-law. There's a restaurant onsite which serves everything from snacks, charcuterie boards, entrées, and desserts. Chef Alex Rubio uses seasonal ingredients from their garden and the rest of the region to make dishes that pair with their wines. In the past, we've tried the Tres Ceviche Sampler (shrimp, octopus, and fish) which was delicious and paired nicely with their white wines. It was served with complimentary bread and olive tapenade. In my opinion, Bodegas F. Rubio has some of the best wines and is a must experience winery when visiting VdG. I highly recommend.

Each label on the wine bottles had a story behind it. They also offer food but we didn't get anything because we ate earlier. The steak that the table next to us ordered looked and smelled good. We are definitely coming hungry next time we come here. I would definitely go back to this winery and recommend it to anyone looking for something that's more low key with great wines.

The wines were fantastic, but what really made the experience stand out was the service. Everyone we interacted with was warm, welcoming, and genuinely excited to share their wines and story with us. Our sommelier was especially wonderful and made the tasting feel personal and relaxed rather than rushed or scripted. One of our favorite parts of the visit was the chocolate and wine pairing that my husband and I did together. Every pairing was thoughtfully put together, and it was so much fun discovering how the flavors changed and complemented each other with every sip and bite. The best surprise of the day? Finding out our sommelier was from the 805! As fellow Central Coast locals, it made the experience feel even more special and gave us an instant connection that we definitely weren't expecting to find in the middle of wine country in Baja.

Service here took a long time to just get menus and initial drinks. We also ordered food that was no longer available. When we did order, the food took near an hour to come to our table. The place was severely understaffed and most of our utensils were dirty. Place offers great views of the vineyard. It's just about the only good thing this place has. Sadly. They do have a "Michelin rated" restaurant inside the building, curious to see what the service there is. Overall, i would say there are so many other wineries around Valle de Guadalupe that offer better services/food and drinks.

She's wonderfully delightful, and she has an excellent staff pouring for you when you visit. On this trip, we just stopped in to purchase a bottle of their Mourvèdre, which is only available at the winery, however we have done tastings here in the past. The winery is rustic and offers a cute, round bar in the middle with a glass floor that looks down into their barrel room below (if you're lucky, they may even give you a tour). There's plenty of indoor seating, as well as a narrow-covered patio around the outside of the building. Parking is in a gravel lot, but the road to get to the winery is dirt and can sometimes be a "fun" experience in itself. If you enjoy a relaxed tasting experience and excellent wines, I highly recommend you put Casta de Vinos on your list when visiting Valle de Guadalupe.

The charcuterie board stood out with its excellent variety of artisanal cheeses and meats, all beautifully presented. Some of the cheeses were from the goats on the property, pretty cool--and other fresh ingredients came from the region. The "Torre de Uchepo" (Uchepo Tower) was the best. Uchepo is a soft tamale made from white corn, traditional to Michoacán, and here it is taken to another level. It's served with pork rib and a green tomato and puya pepper sauce, topped with fresh farm cream and Cotija cheese. An absolute must! The wines, all produced from the on-site winery, paired perfectly with both the charcuterie board and the tamale dish. The peaceful views of ducks in a small pond and a nearby pasture with sheep and horses. They have dogs too, which are all so friendly and, in my opinion, added to the experience as a dog lover. It's a serene experience that perfectly complements the quality of the food and wine. And the service, the service is like no other. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy the best of Valle de Guadalupe's culinary and wine scene. I look forward to returning for an actual meal, we had dinner reservations, but wanted to stop by. The restaurant is off the beaten path. At the gate, you'll enter and continue driving around the property to the top, where the restaurant sits with gorgeous views. You'll see a small pond and a set of stairs--follow them up to the top.
