I had a funeral to go to and afterwards, a large group of us 25/30 people wanted to go get something to eat. I couldn't imagine any restaurant being able to serve that many people at once by simply showing up!!! So, I called TJ Chumps in Huber Heights at 10:30p the night before the funeral. I was hoping they would have a nice banquet room for all of us. The manager on duty couldn't have been any nicer and said they would be happy to accommodate us the next day, Thursday, at 1:30p or 2p. I confirmed the next day at 10:30am and, we showed up at 1:30p. The tables were all set. There were only 2 waitresses to help us all, 9 children and 19 adults!!! I was nervous!! Not only did they get ALL of our orders right....everyone LOVED the food. It was hot, delicious...and it came out in order of how we ordered it. Unbelievable! They did an AMAZING job! Not a single complaint for the large group and they could not have been any more professional and accommodating. I will absolutely be back to see this fine team of professionals!!! Witnessed Blatant racism from wait staff. Table of 4 Black women placed in back corner of the "inside" restaurant. One woman stated that she ordered sweet tea, and they brought regular tea. When waitress was asked, she replied 'do you want sugar? We have Red Blue or White." Woman asks, could you please bring sweet tea, which finally arrived. Same waitress was kind and smiling at all other tables, but very rude to their table throughout their stay. On top of this, the food is bland. I had 'Hot' chicken wings which were more of a mild. French fries are bagged shoestring fries, cooked not long enough. Wait staff in our area were tag teaming it appeared. Which was very confusing to say the least. The expo server didn't smile when bringing out our food and the other staff looked bored and just stood around. In a crazy spot along the side of the highway, on a service road soon to be overrun with concert-goers at Huber Heights newest boondoggle/concert venue, there's a new chain that has (so far) earned its stars. Live with it!! We went for an early (11:45) brunch on a beautiful, sunny Saturday, and were pleasantly surprised. Indoor seating's pretty standard, but it was a GORGEOUS day, and outdoor seating beckoned. There are two choices outside, and we chose the covered portion of the patio, with a perfect breeze, and if you use your imagination, that highway noise (it's right next to interstate 70, literally!!) ALMOST could be the waves of the ocean (!!!) Pretty standard chain options, lots of sandwich, salad, and burger choices. I had the soup and salad special for $8.00. Salad was great, and I thought the carrot and apple soup "special" sounded good, but it was too salty, IMO. The Mr. had chicken tenders and fries. GREAT service, looks like they've gotten a lot of the "just opening" kinks out, and we had no complaints. I could have sat there all day, soaking in the (filtered) rays, enjoying the breeze, and sipping whatever I was sipping (iced tea and lemonade mix at that hour!) , but we had places to go and people to see.... I have been to this TJ Chump location many times and I have never had bad service or and the food is always good. I love the Chicken Salad plate dinner and it is my go to meal. Today I tried the buffalo Chicken wrap and it was great. All the servers wait on all the tables...so you are asked many times if everything is good. Great place. read more

This was a pleasant surprise. The atmosphere was inviting. The service was good. I ordered the ribs with onion rings. The ribs were fall off the bone tender and the bbq sauce was tasty. The onion rings were served hot and there were plenty. My lady friend ordered the fish and chips. The fish was fried golden brown. They provided tartar sauce, and malt vinegar and lemon upon request. They had a very good selection of beer. The prices were reasonable. I will go back and I would recommend this to anyone. read more

My wife and I come here often for unplanned dates and we also come with our kids. It suits both purposes very well. Most often we sit on the HUGE outdoor patio which is mostly covered. They have so much seating here that even when there is a concert at The Rose next door, we can still get a seat. Our favorite thing to do, especially on a date, is to order a few beers and share a huge plate of their chips with their delicious dill dip. The waiters and waitresses are consistently understanding when we ask to slow the pace to enjoy these before ordering our meal. My wife nearly alway orders their portobello sandwich as she loves it so much. I order a variety of items but some of my favorites are their buffalo cauliflower (medium sauce is best IMO), the fish and chips, and any of their burgers. I wish this location had a pizza oven like some of their others do as I am sure those are great too. Anyway, this is a consistent restaurant that had not disappointed in the quality of the food and the care they have given us as patrons. read more

TJ Chumps is always a solid win. They have the BEST patio around and such a relaxing atmosphere. Their pulled sirloin sandwich and chicken tender salad are delicious. My boys come here for the ribs and Mac n cheese. Their ribs are so delicious!!! For appetizers, their buffalo chicken dip, pretzel bites and quesadillas (minus black olives) are all awesome. Today I tried something new. I tried the salmon bruschetta today. I wasn't expecting much. I didn't think a bar and grill could do salmon well. I was WRONG!!! Their salmon bruschetta was amazing. I would highly recommend. Next time I will try the salmon tacos or a salad topped with grilled salmon because now I know they can do salmon well!!!! One TGIF I don't love is how expensive their drinks are. A pop was $2.99 for my daughter and a draft beer was $4.50. Seems a little excessive to me. Other than that, great place. Highly recommend. What a treat to find a restaurant next to our hotel (Tru) after a long day on the road heading home. Checked Yelp & walked over this evening for dinner. We both ordered beers (22oz for $4.99/) which were promptly delivered to our open-wall patio (great breeze & out of sun). Lots of options but we were both feeling like salads so I had the Cobb & Hubs had Caesar with salmon. Lettuce mix in both was very fresh & salmon was perfectly grilled & good quality fish. The Cobb had warm grilled chicken slices along with all the regular ingredients except w/o blue cheese dressing or blue cheese (this was clearly stated & described on menu). Bacon chunks were also warm & plentiful, too. Not busy at all on this Sunday evening so food delivered quickly by kitchen staff. We stayed at the hotel next door and wanted a meal close by. Couldn't believe how awesome the service was! There were several very large parties and the place was packed. We were seated and had drinks within minutes. Our appetizer and then the full meal arrived very quickly. I am giving the 5 stars mainly due to that. Our food was very good too. Highly recommend the pretzel breadsticks and beer cheese. Quite tasty. I had the rib basket and substituted the fries for brussel sprouts. Great stuff! Hubby had a burger and fries with a starter salad. He totally enjoyed it. Don't let a large crowd scare you off. This crew has it down!! I looked around and ever patron was happy. My first impression: wow, do the wait staff hate each other or what?! My best friend and I had the ...luxury of sitting right by the hostess stand. Before we were seated, there was a woman who was giving the hostess problems. We offered a few times to sit at the bar, because there was plenty of seating, but they seemed determined to give us a table. (That's okay, but was a bit strange.) A table opened up quickly, as the woman causing problems was refusing the table we sat at. (It was almost a full house and she was being picky.) So, we're sitting right by the hostess stand, and there's just a relentless amount of gossip. The hostess wasn't participating in it. She was running around doing her job. But, there were 3-4 people hanging around the stand complaining about either customers or other wait staff. ...I get it, I used to be a waitress. But the place was busy and there's always some task you could be doing, for either you or the sake of another. That was extremely off putting. Anyway, to our actual service. It was a bit odd because we were passed back and forth between three waiters (Not including back servers). It was okay though, the orders came out fine, and food was delicious! Everything was reasonably priced besides the pretzel appetizer. Come on, two and a half sticks with some cheese sauce for 6.99? That was funny. However, I only ordered sides as my appetizer, as I had eaten only a few hours ago. I was impressed with the portion sizes of the broccoli and the mac and cheese. My friend enjoyed her entrée size of mac and cheese. It was pretty good! I'd definitely return again if I was in the area. I don't have much to say here, as I've already reviewed the Englewood location of T.J. Chumps, and much of my review for the Huber Heights location reads the same. However, I will say a few differences, most notably that the Huber Heights location is undoubtedly better than the flagship Englewood spot. It's a bit quieter--for lunch, at least--and a bit more suited to the sports bar scene. Foodwise, my wings were definitely better-executed than at the Englewood spot; the wings were crispy, better flavored, and still sizable. Jules' sandwich was more than she could handle; she ended up with leftovers. If you're choosing between TJ Chumps locations, I'd definitely take the 10 minute drive to go to the Huber location. Their staff has really got it together! read more

I've always had great customer service! The buffalo chicken dip is the best I've ever had! The pretzel dip is the best! The burgers are thick burgers and the fries are always piping hot fries just the way I like them! The blackberry margarita is phenomenal!! I order it every time and it is always amazing! I love the Chumps in both Miamisburg and in Englewood, but this location is lacking. I realize that this is a fairly new location, but I'm just not impressed. Walked in on New Years Day to watch the Ohio State vs Alabama game, only to find out the location closed at 10pm. The game didn't even start until 830. I asked our server (who was super nice), if the sign was a mistake and if they knew about the game, and she reiterated that they closed at 10. That in itself was disappointing, however my family opted to stay. I expected the resturant to be packed, for opening week; however, it was not. The resturant was clean and the hostess was very polite and quick putting our table together. We received excellent service from our waitress! She was personable and accurate. My biggest complaint is that for a chain restaurant, this locations food is in no way comparable to either of the other two locations I've tried. They also don't offer the child's pizza at this location. Which came as a disappointment for my children. I'll skip going out to this location and just head to Englewood. The food is better and worth the high price. read more

This place was terrible! Two of the five meals had to be returned because they were inedible. The salmon tasted rotten and the Caesar salad was soggy and spoiled. The fries were barely cooked. If something was supposed to be warm, it was cold; if it should have been served cold, it arrived warm. The bread on the sandwiches was dry and stale. Our server was clearly new and gave wrong information about menu items repeatedly. She had zero server knowledge. We were never offered refills and sat for about twenty minutes with our meals in front of us while they ignored us asking for silverware. This was the first time in probably a decade or more that we had to return food or had such terrible service. My mom, sister, and five nieces and nephews went to this location last night after spending all day at the zoo. The food was good for a sports bar type restaurant. Our food didn't come all at once and our server was a little scattered at the beginning, but with a party of 8 and the majority being children, I understand. We received desserts on the house for that little inconvenience. The thing that earned them a 5 star review was how they responded when our bill came. We had a $25 gift card that had been misplaced during the meal, and the manager offered to comp us that $25. We did end up finding the gift card (it was lodged in a menu), but I appreciated that they were willing to do that for us. read more
