I went into tj maxx today and this is my favorite location because they typically have a lot of stuff. The staff is always so nice at the checkout or if I have questions! We even buy some of our fav furniture pieces from here which we are so happy to have bought! I think prices for certain items can be a little bit lower, but I don't mind hunting for clearance items. read more

A TJ Maxx and Home Goods mash-up. Seems to be common with them now. It's right next to Best Buy and easily accessible. It was fairly busy for mid-morning. If it's busy, you'll end up in the way back of the parking (if you're okay with walking). There's a lot here if you are a home decor person. I'm not, so I stuck to the clothing side (TJ Maxx). I like to consider myself an avid TJ Maxx/Homegoods/Marshalls shopper. It has been a while since I was at this location and was very excited to see what they had. I'll just say- it's very overwhelming because of the size. I could easily spend two hours in here just browsing. It's super busy and there were stock carts and customers everywhere I turned. Homegoods has a great selection but I ran out of time to go through all the aisles. I found two items at TJ Maxx but nothing special for me to come back here any time soon. I felt like even though they have tons of racks of clothes there isn't much variety. read more

Staff are always friendly, and I get the things I wanted in a timely manner. There is ALWAYS something nice to find within, and the prices make you come back everytime. Now that that's out of the way.. It is extremely busy all the time making it hard to get through the line and the store, especially when it's all the way down to the back of it. Even though everyone is so nice it seems like they never have enough help inside the store making it even harder for them to keep the store clean, help customers, getting around said customers, and stocking. There seemed to be no windows or circulation at all for that matter so it's easy to get the sniffles or start coughing and sneezing. Hell, stay there long enough you'll get hot enough to work up a bloody nose. Plus, there's only one set of bathrooms. Good luck finding it. Don't even get me started on the TJMaxx credit card. read more

This Store is like any other "outlet" type store you can think of except that they also have "Home Goods" inside. It's a huge store and they have almost anything you can think of. They have furniture, shoes, makeup, active wear and even snacks. I saw some some really high end makeup (Nars) after digging for a while. But the price made me blink uncontrollably. So I put it down and slowly backed away. I could have sworn this was an outlet store. The customer service here is ok, I haven't had any issues or problems. The cashier that helped me was really nice and pleasant. I was able to find a few things on clearance which is nice but I do wish they had all the clearance items in one area instead of randomly placed or "hidden" throughout the store. It was really hard to find clearance items as compared to other stores that have an area you can rummage through with a BIG Sign that says clearance. The store wasn't as organized as I expected it to be, at least the makeup/cosmetic and skin care area wasn't. It was badly unorganized. But I'm sure some of the customers had a lot to do with that, or maybe they didn't I don't know :D I would definitely go here again if I NEED to but their prices aren't that low compared to other places. I saw purses for over $100 dollars, makeup for [insert high amount here] and so many other insane prices for this store to be an outlet store. I love this store but I was in there a few Sundays ago and the young attendant at the fitting room was rude, dismissive and difficult. She threw the number at me and grunted when I asked a question. As I was standing in line to checkout I sparked a conversation with someone who had the same experience. Clearly she hates customers and needs to be in a back room, not in front of customers. When I got to my car where my husband Bob was waiting and told him about this treatment he sped out of the parking lot in disgust. read more

Runway section had crazy looking maxi dresses and 2 or 3 "nice" Rebecca Minkoff bags chained up. I left disappointed bc usually at the runway stores I'm able to score a sleek Theory or CK dress hiding around but nope, not today!! Lastly, the drivers in the parking lot are obnoxious. This is super great store! They have so great customer service! Lots of fashionable merchandise, lots of great deals, promos, and even discounts. This store was really clean, well-organized, well-stocked, and so nice. I always found so many worthy things that I did not actually know that I need it or I was looking for it. Their staff here is so kind, friendly, and helpful. All of them are so willing to help their customers all the time. So efficient employees. Really love doing shopping here at TJ Maxx. Especially with family and friends. So perfect for bulk orders and stuff. You can always find here an item for home essentials, kitchen, and others. Not sure why she did not make sense, I have the receipt, box and warranty like the stamp in the back says she said to go to the store I purchased from ? TJ Maxx should properly train these ignorant manager. This is a TJ Maxx/Home Goods store and it's amazing! By amazing I mean A-MA-ZING. It's huge, has a large selection, and great brands. You know how, sometimes, you go to a TJ Maxx or a Marshall's and the clothes are all trashy, the store looks old and dirty, the selection is horrible, and nothing's organized. Yeah, this is the opposite of that. The jewelry is great, there is a huge selection of purses and suitcases, there's an "off the rack" section and a couple of aisles (yes aisles) of beauty stuff like shampoos, lotions, hair brushes, you name it! Now, let's move to the Home Goods section (which is located in the back of the store). There's a ton of furniture (more than I usually see at a home goods), aisles and aisles of art and mirrors, and even a couple of aisles dedicated to gardening. Trust me, I can find a flaw in almost anything and this store is an exception. Plus, if you're hungry before or afterwards, you can pop-in next door to Mangia Mangia - that is if you don't mind Fox News and overly garlicky toast and salad dressing. read more

We went into the store and made a $469.72. After the purchase a mgr convinced my husband to do a survey and apply for a credit card. Since he was approved the mgr bought him back to the salesperson to return the merchandise on our card and put the purchase on the new TJ Max card. Today we decided to return the tie which is the lowest priced item on the receipt for $49.99. We were totally humiliated by the staff and the mgr on duty. They stated we returned the item already. Based on the receipt we presented. We saw the employee who did the transaction and asked her to come verify the situation. Which she did! She tried explaining to the acting mgr what took place. But, they did not adhere to her explanation. We ended up leaving the store totally defeated. The Countryside, IL store profiled my husband and I. We will never patronize this company again. We will be returning everything we have with a receipt still on it. And we have already destroyed the credit card because we will never purchase from any of these stores again. They don't appreciate all dollars; just the white dollars. Had we walked in without a receipt they would have retuned the item as a merchandise credit. But, they gave us the business because we are not white. If they were to check the security cameras they would have seen we patronize that location all the time. Or money spends the same. I guess not at this particular location. TJ MAXX Home Goods in Countryside, IL does not value all customers. Also, we have a credit card with a $469.72 balance. I've become a TJ Maxx fan over the past few years. This location is by far my most favorite. They have the BEST homegood selection - largest, most organized, best variety. I went there today, and I feel that the store has been remodeled overnight. I was there right before xmas, and today the store feels so different. They cleaned up the place a bit, moved stuff around. It seemed so open. The selection of chairs, furniture, lamps, and rugs was excellent today. There are 3 chairs that I am coveting - and almost got one of them today. The selection is amazing!!! They drastically cut their plus size department - down to 1 rack. What?? Sad about this, but I'll still shop the homegoods section. read more

The Countryside T.J. Maxx has the best selection and staff among the chain of stores in the Chicagoland area. The fun is in not knowing what you'll find. I have shopped for entertainment without the intention of buying anything and left with huge shopping bag(s), but I have also went in looking for something in particular (new pair of jeans), and left empty-handed or with random stuff from other departments (masks, candles, picture frames, wicker baskets, etc.). The high-end designer finds in the "Runway" section are unbelievable, although sizes can be limited. They also have a sizable "Contemporary" section for brands like Hudson, Joie, and Equipment. On my last visit, I found Tory Burch espadrilles for $49.99, and Gaimo espadrilles for $39.99 (they still retail for $135 and $114 online). The price is twice what I would pay for the inspired versions I was considering at Target or Forever 21, but you can feel a big difference in quality and durability. If this store were closer, I could see myself visiting regularly, but at the same time, I'm glad that there is a little bit of distance as I'm not sure if I could help myself from turning into a shopaholic! read more

My friend is always raving about the cool stuff she gets from this store. I have gone to a TjMaxx in my area and was always umimpressed by the deals, so I was hesitant to go out of my way to this one. But I went anyway. Walking in, you are greeted by designer purses. I could probably blow my entire paycheck on these. Gorgeous colors and designs. I contained myself, though, and only bought a very nice vibrantly colored leather wallet. Walking by the accessories, I almost grabbed a pair of leather gloves, but my husband pulled me away. This store is HUGE. It has a large Homegoods section at the back of the store and had I not stocked my kitchen will neccessities, I would walk out with dining sets (gorgeous!), serving platters, cute pots and pans and so forth. The home decor section is great. They have beautifully packaged items, like candles, perfect for gift-giving. My jaw dropped when I walked into the bed/bath section. I am mad at myself for ever shopping at Overstock. The merchandise at TjMaxx is high quality and reasonably priced. The selection is beautiful. I thought the spa vanilla'ish scent was a nice touch in the throw pillows section. It definitely made you feel very cozy (and encouraged the purchase of two white ruffled pillows, which are very pretty, btw). The store is very clean and well kept. Even the bathrooms are nice. It's a 30 minute drive for me, but I will be back. read more

This TJ Maxx is way nicer than the Marshall's it sits next to. Over the years they've really developed their "Off The Runway" section, which is exciting to 'regular' girls like me to see and touch designer items I wouldn't normally go near. Haven't quite made it to the point of buying one of their pricier pieces yet, though. They maintain the store very well, stays well stocked and organized. I always have to hit up their clearances, and have been lucky to find some super gems here- Coach wedges for $26 and Kate Spade heels for $31, but that is less frequent. I love looking at their specialty items, like food items, I feel like this store broadens my horizons of whats out there. I've been impressed to find a popular $80 perfume here for $35, and dry shampoo that I was buying on amazon here. Of course that's all sporadic. You have to be ready for a search and have an open mind. Looking for something specific might not work out, but there is tons to keep you happy! read more

I love this store! They have a huge selection of clothing, shoes, jewelry, home goods even furniture and rugs! Wow! Amazing! I always find a good deal here. You can also buy cookies, chocolates, chips, coffee, even some organic food, etc. The store selection gets 5 stars. I always stop by here with my dear friends who don't live far from here. On our trip, we also include Marshall's, which is just next door. The not so good: this location has become messy, messy, messy and unorganized (especially the fitting room). The older lady that tends the fitting room is very rude. But still, you can find some great stuff and deals here! This is my favorite TJ Maxx! I can and have spent hours in here. It's huge! It has a Homegoods in it as well as a THE RUNWAY section. I nabbed a Helmut Lang dress that was originally $895 for $88 and also spotted Christian Dior pumps in the shoe section for around $120. I also got an Ivanka Trump Birkin-inspired bag for $80. They have a great selection of cookware and gourmet foods. The store is clean and well-stocked. Be sure to walk a few doors down to the Marshall's while you're there :) read more

This store is fab! It's like Christmas every day of the week. They go through so much merchandise, like it's going out of style. Buy it when you see it or bye, bye. The checkout line may be long on any given day but that just shows what great stuff they always have. It has not been a problem on long waits for me. There are plenty of cashiers & they go as fast as they can. It's always a busy store, so if you're not up for it, maybe try a different location. I also love the Downers Grove location at 75th & Lemont Rd. It runs a close 2nd to Countryside but It's right by my house, so I'm there twice a week for a swoop around the store to see the new stuff that comes in. Just like the Countryside store, the managers are very nice, as well as the cashiers, floor stockers & finally nice people in the dressing rooms too. I know it's crazy in there but before you almost didn't want to go in there bc of the crabby personnel. That has changed for both locations. The crabby older lady says "hello" now & is much more relatable. I hate to judge, as who knows what's going on in her life right now & goodness knows, I don't want her losing her job! Marshall's is right across the street too but it is a one person washroom & it is old & nasty. All TJ's are SO much more friendly than years ago. The washrooms have improved but the colors are so dreary, that goes for all TJ Maxx's (same look, same tile). Women love a nice, bright, clean washroom with good lighting. For whatever reason, that just makes me want to buy more. Sounds like I'm in the washrooms a lot! LOL but I'm always in the stores shopping for so long, it's important! I finally broke down & got the TJ Maxx MasterCard. It is awesome also, I'm always getting the rewards certificates in the mail. With all that said, they are still both five stars for me! I went to return a pair of pants, got into a "returns" line and waited. And waited. They were people ahead of me, also waiting. The two cashiers available were taking their time, discussing each detail of customers' lives as if there were no one else waiting. Then a lady walked in and somehow the cashier called her up next even though the rest of us was still waiting. Once I finally got my turn the cashier was extremely rude, did not greet me or ask any questions about the return, treated me as if I was a bother to her. Thank you Ms. Rita. This TJMaxx is really big, they have updated and expanded it over the years. Nice selection of dishes, vases, paintings, baking supplies and purses. The thing I don't like about this location is that they don't have kids shoes. The Marshalls next door does though so I never mind making the trip out there. If I wasn't concerned about my credit score dropping, I would close the card. I saw a dress that I thought would be a nice gift for a friend. It was elegant, long and nice color. Thus, it will be out of season in a couple weeks. The thread was pulled from may wears of try on and the bottom was dirty. It had a tag on it for $25.00. However under the tag was $198. I learned of this much later. The cashier found the price unbelievable and decided to check it. Part of me felt like she thought I changed the price, which I did not. I almost told her to run cameras. Anyway, she waisted 35 minutes of my time asking a manager to check the price and then another manager had to check . They both decided the dress would be sold for half the original price( $98.00). I said No way would I pay that much for that dress! Guaranteed in a week, the dress will be marked down to $50 or the price I saw. Tjmaxx especially this store is not my favorite place to shop. The price is not it. I would have paid the $98.00, definitely could afford it; had I been treated with a little more respect and if it was worth it. It's the principle that matters. Not all black people do bad things. I am going to take my card, file it away and keep shopping at Norstroms's and Macy's where I am respected and treated with dignity. read more

Just rated the Marshalls next door with 1 star for the same reason: Most of their dreses were size 10 or below. They actually had one dress in XS - 10 of them! Really? They were also backed up at the cash registers. Finally opened another one after there were about 15 in line. read more

I of course, like many, have shopped at the MAXX for many years. It has had it's ups and downs. It merged with Home goods. But most recently it seems to have underwent a sort of in store make-over. The dressing room had gotten a face lift about 2 years ago. It needed it. It used to be scary to take off your shoes in there, but now with real doors and seats, it's not bad. It still always seems like it needs to be swept. But now the aisles seem to be less cluttered, newer signage and of course the high end designer section. All in all the store seemed neater, maybe because going in on a week day afternoon. The great thing about the MAXX is the hidden gems you can find. Like 7 brand jeans, Icebreakers winter gear, Smartwool, Meryls, and Borne shoes. Patagonia. NorthFace. They do have some good name brands. You just have to be there at the right time. And be patient. And go through racks. Yoga pants are a great deal here. $12.99 to $19.99. They tend to have a pretty good home section, with a large assortment of pillows and area rugs. They also get in decent furniture as well. My sister lives in Dayton Ohio and when she visits me she HAS to go to my MAXX. She thinks it is one of the best. I agree! read more

I'm a big fan of Tj Maxx and Homegoods so having it combined is a dream :) they have a great selection of high end merchandise at a more wallet friendly price. Tj Maxx can be sometimes unorganized but this location is always very organized and clean. They also have a Marshalls next door so that's a plus. read more
