Generally I'm a fan of TJ Maxx, but this particular store is "the pits", literally. Why? It's completely disorganized and insanely cluttered. After I browsed around for just under a half an hour, I found it next to impossible to find a woman's dressing room. Tip: The dressing rooms are tucked away in a smelly, dark corner of the store. The only way you'll find it is to ask or to literally stumble across it; I suggest that former. Generally, the overall vibe I get when I'm in this location is claustrophobia. As if that weren't bad enough, all the staffers I've encountered here are either simply unhelpful, or unhelpful AND rude. While I'm not ready to give up on the TJ Maxx chain in general, this location is one and done for me. read more

Went In today stopped by the perfumes in a glass case was interested and curious to know if one could smell them before purchasing . I asked a near by associate"candy " if it was possible and it seem like she was going to say yes at first but then hesitated and said "no we don't , I usually tell people to go to the mall smell them and come back !". I left it at that and left, since her hesitation threw me off I decided to call the store once out of it. I asked the same question and was told "yes you can smell them before purchasing as long as they are not wrapped or in a box " by what sounded like a young man. So very off putting and uncomfortable service would not recommend especially if a person of color unfortunately, just out of personal experience. Would not recommend! Unfortunately this location isn't great. If I need to return something this is convenient for me to go to so I will but not a ton of really good finds. The store was cluttered but I found what I needed. no one asks you if you need help anymore. No store employee smiled or said hi out on the floor. There was one cashier and several people in line. There were 3 other employees behind the checkout counter, I asked if someone else could cashier and one of the employees said "we are short staffed and we are training someone today." Tried to return some earrings with a receipt but was told the receipt was incorrect (it wasn't) they said I'd have to drive to the location I bought them from and see if they would help me. This is one of the worst TJ Maxx stores in all of Denver Metro. Unfortunaty I live close so it's the most convenient one. The male manager could care less about the public or his employees who do not ever offer good customer service. They literally refuse to help customers, and talk about their own private lives while checking out, not even acknowledging the customer. They've also taken my cart after 1 minute and put everything I've selected away. Then not even a sorry from the male manager. Yesterday the assistant manager was cutting down a nice employee in front of customers, no wonder no one nice lasts there, they're brutal! Very strange experience at TJ Maxx on Wadsworth Blvd. on Saturday. I arrived around 9:10 (the store hours online and on the door say they close at 9:30.) The front doors were locked, so people entering had to enter through the exit doors. Inside, a woman with blond short hair (who I assume was a shift leader or manager) started yelling that she wanted to leave early and was closing the store early and that we needed to hurry up. As myself and another couple were making hurried selections she was practically yelling across the store to the cashiers that it was "so embarrassing" for the people still shopping that they were there because she wanted to go home early. Made everyone very uncomfortable. Would not recommend this place since they don't update their hours, they just make rogue decisions on when they close and will harass you if you try to shop outside of the hours they made up (but within their actual hours.) read more

This TJ Maxx is located in the Fairfield Commons Shopping Center. Was in the neighborhood last month or so. Plenty of stuffs to be found if you decide to take your time to go thru all the piles of stuffs and shop here. Be it kitchenware, clothes what nots. As for me its just a MEH shopping experience OR it was a NIGHTMARE. The prices can be a steal for some but to me, its slightly expensive to some other stores that I frequent to. I find the merchandise at the various TJ Maxx locations to be pretty consistent with excellent pricing, but the customer service varies greatly. The service I experience at the Aurora store on Parker road is always very friendly and efficient. The service at the 1st and Wadsworth store is sub par, particularly when you are needing assistance to purchase an item under lock and key. read more

Me and my sister got followed around the store by numerous employees, and an undercover shopper. Obviously because we are of color. So if you're a person of color be careful at this location, because the employees are prejudice, and think we didn't have money or something, (despite me flashing my card, MULTIPLE TIMES, and also asking straight up why they were following us) We were the only black folk in at the time so makes sense in today's crappy racist filled America. They constantly were coming up to us and were asking us "Do you need help finding anything" while so many other customers got to shop unbothered. And I've worked in retail so I know that question really means. "are you shoplifting" They used to make us follow this procedure at my old job. if you are approached and asked from across the entire store, they think ur stealing. I'm not dumb. But they sure looked it when me and my sister BOUGHT our items like we had intended. they wanted us the be stealing soooo bad lmao. I think 3 stars is about right for this TJ Maxx. It is in a shopping center that has half the stores out of business, so it kind of looks less than great to go into. The store itself was fine, and pretty well set up (your standard Maxx). I can't say I found it messy, it was TJM so it was set up how they all are (I think you either go in liking/accepting that or don't). I didn't find a lot in housewares, but the clothing looked pretty good. I might go back, but it wasn't the greatest neighborhood or selection. Most of these stores stock what they feel the demographic in this neighborhood buys and this one just didn't float my boat, but nothing wrong with the place, just not for me. read more

TJ Max is one of those hidden gems you rarely go too but when you do you rediscover all the reasons why you wish you went more often. My most recent visit I was looking for a down jacket I can wear around town - something that wasn't just a solid black or blue or red. Right there just waiting for me on the rack was a silver with yellow trim lining north face jacket. They carry a lot of things that you would find at nordstroms or Macy's. If you need pillows - they got em. A French press - yep. A suitcase - got that too. They have just about anything you could possibly need and all marked down at great prices. So, I had to laugh at Jamie's review that started off with, "Yes, it's messy and yes, it's Ghetto." I usually don't dedicate more than 5 seconds to reviews like that, but her two adjectives of choice really hit the nail on the head. It's unorganized - looks like a tornado blew through - and has long lines, but there are cute things to be found. One big surprise was the few, very expensive Michael Kors bags; very expensive as in essentially MSRP. I am a self-diagnosed Kors addict, and if I'm paying that kind of money, I'll shop at the Kors store and get stuff in season and with all the original accessories, not dinged up with 92059 finger prints. I actually didn't enter this location when I came by, I just sent Kevin inside to do a return for me here! I bought 1 black dresses at the location up north for a funeral then found out afterward that they wanted us to wear pink the day of the actual funeral service so I needed to return one dress! We just so happened to be down South going to the Belmar when I remembered this location was off of 1st and Wads so we just stopped here! He was in and out in 5 minutes, no problem with the return and he said the woman who helped him was very nice and said we should come back to look at the fall stuff they were putting out another time! Came in for gloves when I lost my only pair on my honeymoon. Found the worst selection ever. This is Denver for crying out loud and they had a very small end selection with 4 different varieties.
