The store itself is a typical TJMaxx/Home Goods store. Well stocked, a treasure-trove for bargain hunters along with discount pricing. Checkout is generally quick with many cashiers assisting those patiently waiting in line. A negative experience, however, ensues with the persistent pestering by many of the cashiers to open a store credit card. One would think that a "no, thank you" would suffice as a customer response. Most cashiers continue with a "savings and benefits" rehearsed spiel. Please: just get me through the checkout line and don't hold up those behind me! read more

Went to this TJ Maxx location the other day. and will never be returning! The customer service was TERRIBLE! I Went to try on a piece of clothing and the young lady Kaliyah was very very rude and disrespectful. She rolled her eyes when I asked for a fitting room and gave me disgusting attitude while doing so. Went in to look at some bedsheets and Maria was very rude and unhelpful towards my sister and I today.

While from the outside they appear to be two separate stores, this TJ Maxx and neighboring Homegoods store are actually one store. The TJ Maxx side has clothing, accessories, shoes, beauty and children's items. Homegoods side has well homegoods; decor, furniture, pet items, kitchen items, and shelf stable food. Both sides of the store were clean and well organized. Aisles are wide. The employees on the floor we friendly. All made sure to say hi and/or strike up conversations. Like other stores in the TJ Maxx family, the checkout line is filled with impulse items. Line at checkout moved quickly. There were a few people in front of me, and I was done checking out within 5 minutes. read more

This location in Goodyear features both TJ Maxx and Home Goods at one location, which is very convenient. Usually it's very well-stocked and long lines move pretty quickly. Employees are pretty friendly. This location is always very busy no matter the day or time of the week. Shopping carts are gross and dirty. read more

This review is on behalf of the baby clothes section. I went to this location 01/19/22 in search of a baby boy Adidas track suit. I get there and I see there's a bunch on the wall and I'm like heck yeah! I go and look at them and they are ALL FOR GIRLS! There was over 30 of them and not a single of for baby boys, I looked EVERYWHERE. On top of that, I went to go look at the baby clothes racks and all the racks were girls clothes and the rack that's meant for baby boys was cut to less than half and filled with more girls clothes. I don't understand how the process works with stores like this on their merchandise, but the store manager should request more baby boy clothes...all the baby boy clothes that was there were ugly. Not every mom wants to dress their boy in "sharks, trucks and dinosaurs". I won't be coming here in search of baby boy clothes. read more

I've had multiple experiences that have all been very unpleasant shopping experiences with Susan at the jewelry counter which has led me to finally leaving a review, around Mother's Day this associate told me she thought i was someone's child as i stood waiting for service at the counter as she stocked and ignored me for 15 min but it was the holiday and i tried to assume she was just busy. Yet Today i went in and picked up 2 pairs of sunglasses, underwear and I selected a Betsy Johnson necklace and while i yet again stood waiting for Susan to acknowledge or even speak to service me she just glared at me from afar. Finally she comes over and said " did you need something " as i have a pile of item on the jewelers counter i responded " to check out if you're able " Susan then responds to me " oh i thought you where just standing here playing " Excuse me ? Is this a play ground ? Why would you speak to any adult in this manner. Who's done nothing but stand here waiting for service. While waiting I noticed the necklace i was looking to purchase had a large chip of paint missing, I asked if she potentially had another in back stock and She rudely barked no and said did you still want it ? I said yes and she said yeah there's nothing i can do for you then. At this point I'm stuck wondering why she's treating me in this manner as I'm spending over 100.00 in this store she's treating me as if I've done something wrong or don't deserve to shop there. I'm also a 34 year old woman who she clearly has choosen to not respect. I didn't respond to Susan which made her visually uncomfortable and she called for help because now she cannot remove the sensor from the sunglasses and she's already charged me for both - & I'm left standing waiting as she's struggling, she clearly was needing to make sure i had the money to pay for what i wanted before she did her due diligence in removing the sensors BEFORE she took my money. The second associate was able to get the sensors off and i bagged my items and left. This employee clearly has an issue engaging with black customers and maybe some cultural sensitivity training would be best & some basic customer service skills that have clearly fallen by the waist side in all the years i assume she's worked in customer service. But the way she's treated me multiple times is not okay. I would never send my mother there to be treated in such manner read more

This Tjmaxx and Home Goods has a very nice environment. You can tell the employees work very hard in making sure items are stocked nicely and clothes are in the right spots. The store is clean and has great discounts. I'm always finding something here I like! They have someone cleaning the carts and there's wipes as you walk in. I've always thought that it was important back when they opened to have wipes to sanitize the carts. Everyone that works there, thank you for everything that you do! We appreciate you! read more

If I could give this store less than zero stars, I would. I received a $130 cashmere sweater as a gift from TJ Maxx for Christmas that was way too big. Unfortunately, the person who gifted it to me no longer had the receipt. I researched their return policy on the website prior to going in to this store. The sweater was unworn, in perfect condition, and had all tags attached. According to the TJ Maxx website, I should have been able to receive store credit which I totally understand and that was fine with me. When I got to the store, the manager on duty refused to give me store credit and would not take the sweater back because it was from "department 7" which is apparently their more expensive items. According to him, in addition to having the tags attached and the sweater being unworn, you must have a receipt to return any department 7 merchandise. The TJ Maxx website says nothing about department 7 being an exception, besides the fact that I am a customer, not an employee. Why would I be expected to know information regarding their specific departments? I do not really ever shop at TJ Maxx, so I am not the type of person who purchases things from here and then perpetually returns items. The manager on duty also refused to help me to escalate this to the next step and would not give me any information on who I could speak to other than a generic 800 number. I have since sold the sweater on Poshmark myself, as I could not wear it. I would have been happy with store credit. The store could have resold the sweater and I would have also spent $130 shopping there. Perhaps I would have found many things that I really liked and would have become a repeat customer. Instead, I will never again willingly set foot in this location or any other Marshall's, TJ Maxx, Homegoods, etc. I have always been weary of shopping in these so called "bargain" type stores and now I know why. The customer service was awful and the "bargain" of that sweater was not worth the hassle. To be totally honest, they don't have great deals, but want you to think they do by marketing themselves in that manner. In the end, similar to many outlet or bargain type stores, you are being duped. For example, I recently searched for cashmere sweaters on the Nordstrom website. I found some from Vince on sale for $140. Vince is a much nicer brand than the sweater I had received, it was only $10 more, and Nordstrom has a great return policy and excellent customer service. Ultimately, at TJ Maxx you aren't really getting a bargain, but you are gaining a potential hassle if something goes wrong with your merchandise. Why bother shopping here, when there are much better options? read more

** PG rated review ** I enjoy the store when I have been there in the past. I at least want to start with that.... However.... I had to make a trip to the restroom. It was fairly clean and I do not have issue with that. I finished up my business and was washing my hands. As I was finishing up, an employee of the store (a guy in glasses) came in and hustled up to the urinal. He handled his business quickly and ran straight back out the door......WITHOUT WASHING HIS HANDS. Thank you Mr. Disgusting Man for holding your parts and then touching the door handle I now have to grab to leave the restroom. So I walk out of the bathroom (using a paper towel to open the door) and see this guy shake hands with someone and standing around joking with coworkers. You mean to tell me you could not invest a minute to wash your hands properly before you went out to resume your non-work conversation??? Gross. Get it together TJMaxx. Make sure your people are washing their hands or at the least start posting signs letting us know that your people do not wash their hands so I can avoid your store in the future. read more

I decided to go to store located at 2938 Eldridge Parkway, Houston TX. Their website says customers have to wear masks. When I arrived, I saw that they did not. This is a big store with Home Goods and TJ Maxx combined. They only had one door open for entry and one for exit. Since I was there I decided to take 5 minutes to see if I could see if they carried what I needed and come back when the store wasn't so crowded. I had to walk all the way over to the other side, being careful to follow their arrows. I got to the other side, decided to leave but all the doors I saw said "DO NOT ENTER" I walked back to the other side and the woman yelled at me for being at the wrong door. No one else was standing there. I started back and she yelled at me that I was going the wrong way. I'm 69, stressed and confused at this point. I just wanted out. They don't care if you wear a mask but don't dare go the wrong way on the arrows even if you are the only one there. The front door nazi could have been a bit nice. Not going back. I always LOVE shopping here. The clerks are truly friendly & helpful. The store has great merchandise at bargain prices. In the rather uncertain times we live now w/ the corona virus, they make life seem almost normal. When they re-opened they went all out making customers feel safe & welcome. Of all the places I have gone to, T.J. Maxx wins hands down for their cleaning every cart, limiting # inside,all employees w/ masks,spacing signs & plexiglass shields at check-out & more. Always the worst Home Goods I go into. They NEVER have enough cashiers, and the line literally had to be out the door before they will call another person. Often times there will be managers and cashiers talking behind the counter with 15-20 people in line. They also have very little merchandise. It's the store the corporate office seems to have forgotten about. I have seen empty shelves and racks multiple times. You go into any other TJ Maxx and they have wonderful unique treasures. This one- Nope. I don't think it's the employees fault- I think the corporate office just doesn't care. It's worth driving the 40 min over to the ones on the other side of town. read more

I have to disagree with some of the other reviews as for as the staff being friendly as my experience not once but twice was rather a rude and mind blowing experience. I would have to say the selection is either hit or mis as it is at any store such as tjmaxx , and never Ross that's a whole other headache except the Paradise valley location but, this tjmaxx is organized for the most part but customer service is def lacking and really could use some commitment to excellence seminars or another way to let younger generation millenials know what time it is. Get off your phone when your on the clock and stop texting. Help customers and be friendly.... maybe not this location but then again, one more reason not to go any further than 15th Ave or further into the westside.....just a thought .. read more

This TJMaxx/Home Goods location is awesome! It is always super clean and organized, the employees are extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful, and the selection is excellent. I've found so many things I was looking for, and then some, here! TJMaxx is already my favourite chain store of this type (better than Ross, Marshalls, etc.. imho), but this location is even better! The prices are always great, and they carry some very nice items. I went in looking for a few things and ended up buying multiple things. A lady named Tammy helped check me out and even convinced me to get a TJMaxx credit card, which I use all the time! Yay for $10 rewards! Within the purchase I had multiple Glass items, which needed to be wrapped so a Young man who I think was Walter helped wrapped which made the process go faster! I would like to say when I first went into this store dec 28th I was coming from California An had purchased a dress that later found out was to small. So I came into this location An was first helped by 2 ladies by the name of Desirae & Yasmin excellent customer service from both of these ladies. They told me that they had to get a mangers approval to return the dress company policy which was ok. That's when I was greeted by Steven the manger an from that point till I left horrible customer service. Very rude unprofessional an just over all made my very first visit to that store as well as my 2nd time ever being in Arizona horrible. But to shorten the story after I made several calls to locate corporate manger. On dec 30 I was contacted by Jacob Martina he asked me what happen An after talking to him I was told to come back Into the store so that he can see if he could help me. My experience with him from moment he was called to the moment I arrived at the store to talk to him. Had way past excellent customer service. Made me feel amazing excellent communication all. My favorite place to shop. I get the most amazing deals! I think this location is the nicest one in Phoenix. Not picked over like some of the others and not too busy. I find so many different things here and i used to come in about every other week because inventory constantly changes. If you see something that you like buy it or it will be gone when you come back. I've learned that the hard way. I love designer brands and love it a lot more when I can get them for cheap. Don't go if you don't need anything or you will spend money on something that you don't need:) read more

I am only giving them one star because I can't give them no stars....I am a TJ Maxx lover. I even worked at a TJ MAxx while going to college in Hawaii. I was one of the top employees and offered higher a position to be a coordinator (higher than just an associate) at the cashier station because of how great of a worker I was in the short amount of time I was there. This means I know exactly what associates can and can't do during transactions and returns. I found a few jackets that I had in my closet that still had tags on them, I never wore because the didn't fit, and decided to finally return them. The cashier REFUSED to return them and said they were too old and made up an excuse I've never even heard of and know is not a policy that she wouldn't be able to "reuse" the tags because I didn't have my receipt. This makes absolutely no sense...even if I had my receipt the tag would still be the same. She lied about a policy that isn't a policy, even after I called her out on it and said I used to work there and knew she was lying. Not only was she lying and making something up she was very rude and short about it and told me "oh well". The part of her saying the items were too old is also a bunch of bull. When I worked at TJ Maxx we took back anything that still had the receipt, even if we couldn't find it in the system anymore. Also not to mention I returned something the day before this happened that I know for sure was a lot older than the items I was now trying to return. She was just being lazy and obviously is very incompetent. Not to mention any time I come to this store all of the associates are rude. I was literally pushed aside one day so an employee could put something back on the shelf. I don't think I have ever been greeted by anyone at this store. It is a lousy representation for TJ Maxx and I know I will never return to this specific store. I would much rather drive to the Peoria location. This store is full of incompetent rude staff and I advise people to stay away from this specific store...you most likely will NOT be satisfied. read more
