I love this Tj Maxx, It's HUGE in comparison to every other and has a ton of stuff for everyone at great prices. The HomeGoods section, which is connected to this Tj Maxx and also has a seperate entrance is VERY large and full of different home decor items for all kinds of colors and themes. My roommate and I were here for atleast 2 hours. I found myself a dress and some home items while she bought a ton of clothes. DO NOT TRY TO RETURN ANYTHING!!!!! This establishment is a reprehensible and pathetic example of, "customer service." Came in with my receipt to return a pair of shoes two days after originally purchasing them, (after trying to wear them to an event and finding them too uncomfortable to wear again for another long period of time) and after waiting in line for at least 20 minutes, was met with an extremely snobby and rude cashier who refused to return the shoes, despite me being told while I was originally purchasing the shoes, that their company's return policy was that you only must have the original receipt in order to return your purchase successfully. Even after I *nicely* asked why my return couldn't be completed and telling her what I was initially told by another employee during the original transaction, all she said was, "we can't take them," and refused to elaborate on why, even when I asked again. We legitimately went back and forth a few times with me asking why I couldn't return the shoes, even with my original receipt, 2 DAYS AFTER I PURCHASED THEM, and her continuing to reply with, "we just can't." I could've asked for the manager, but in that moment, a $30 pair of shoes didn't seem worth it, and the cashier's awful attitude and incompetence was beginning to make me feel very uncomfortable & unwelcome in the store... However, I'm posting this review to make others aware of this company's tolerance of terrible customer service. Even as a person who has worked/is currently working in retail & knows just how TERRIBLE it can be, it was simply disgusting and mindblowing to see such a ridiculous attitude and gross display of incompetence. I was looking for a picture that was sold out at the TJMaxx by my house. I called the Irving store and explained the picture and the first thing the girl says is she might not be able to find it. I said it's a large picture about 24 inches X 60 inches with a black back ground and had 3 vases of white flowers and it was around 100 dollars. I said it sticks out because of the black background and the size of the picture. Again she starts with the excuses why she might not be able to find it. I said I was not looking for excuses, if she could just look and see if they had the picture. Again she starts with excuses and I ask for her first name and she hangs up on me. I am not a regular shopper but I have always enjoyed just walking the aisles of this store and browsing for cute trinkets or whatever. I also love the gourmet ingredients section along with their coffee section! They have a solid selection of clothes and stuff but I have yet to find something that really jumps out at me. I shop at tj maxx by my house all the time and I love it. Unfortunately I had the displeasure of dealing with this location and the manager Zuheily F. I was traveling from California where I originally purchased luggage at the tj maxx store en route my luggage was completely destroyed by the time I landed. Thanks American Airlines! Considering I purchased the luggage 3 days ago I was hopeful that TJ Maxx would do what they call reach for the customer and help me get my money back to purchase another set of luggage to get my stuff back home safely. To make sure I wasn't wasting my time, I called the nearest TJ maxx near my hotel(10 miles) to speak to a very lovely Ashley. I explained the situation; where it was purchased, left receipt in California and the tag, Ashley was very kind in saying if I don't have the receipt I would be able to receive store credit. Great news! I order my uber and head over. I pick out the luggage out and wait in a quick moving line to be greeted by a very happy cashier. I explain the situation and who I spoke to over the phone and the coordinator comes over to inspect the bag. Not being sure what to do, she goes to speak to the manager. All while this cashier with a great attitude made us laugh and made the 10 min wait seem short. The coordinator then comes back saying that I have to contact my airline so they can reimburse what I paid. Then zuheily comes over and began contradicting herself saying she wouldn't be able to take it back even with a receipt because it was damaged but if I had a receipt she would do it. That showed me she had the power to REACH to a customer and she chose otherwise. If I called and someone said they wouldn't be able to do it, then I would have went out to a store closer to me and saved some time and money on the trip. At what point does the manager take responsibility for their employees lack of training? It's a shame, the employees here deserve a better class of manager. TJ maxx can do better. I called my home tj maxx and given my situation they said no problem, if I can find a way to get the luggage back to California they would refund me what I paid! Hate this store. The sales managers are extremely rude and they are the managers. In this store, the register had the light on and 3 girls behind it so I politely asked if it was open. Worst experience ever. Return policy is horrible. Manager "Kim" blamed us for returning worn shoes. We were trying to return shoes with tag and receipt, just bought week ago. Never ever buy stuff from this store, if you ever plan to return for any reason. They will try to come up with excuse description is not matching. I am a fan of this place and have always been satisfied with the products and customer service, but that wasn't the case when I shopped there today. If you have been to this location, you know there is quite a bit of traffic going in and out of this store, so as usual, the check out line is from the TJ Maxx side of the store to the opposite side towards the Homegoods section. There were at least 15 people in front of me and against my better judgement, I decided to patiently wait in line to purchase my 2 items. The line was already taking awhile to dwindle down, and I finally got to the front; however, I still had to wait for the cashier on register 1 & 2, to stop talking about their own businesses they had on the side. Also, they slowly ran up their customers purchases and started a conversation with each other again about the products being purchased and initiated a discussion with the customer which in turn took another, I kid you not, 15 minutes ( not to mention I was already in line for 10 minutes)! Of course, when I finally had my turn, I ended up with cashier on register #2. She didn't greet me, but she just signaled me over. She slowly ran up my one pair of shorts and one dog treat, and while doing that, she didn't look at me once, but continued talking to her co-worker on register #1. I had to wait for the amount due to pop up (she didn't even tell me), and in the end I finally asked her to give me the receipt since she's had been leaning over to inspect the products the customer on Reg #1 had purchased (which was the same customer that was there before she'd even started helping me). When she handed me the receipt, she didn't look up, and she had the nerves to say to me she was waiting for the receipt to print. I just got tired of waiting for her to pick up the pace. I took the receipt and just left. I realize that sometimes it's not easy to do a retail job. Trust me I have worked in retail before, but my goal was to be polite, friendly, and efficient. I understand lines can be long and I went in there knowing there was going to be a wait because there was already a line when I arrived there, but to still be waiting on a cashier to finish her conversation before she can focus on getting you rung up and out of there, is just bad service. read more

If I could give no stars I would - TJ Maxx has gone STEADILY DOWNHILL over the years both in quality of merchandise and the store staff. But purpose of my review today is to share about the TERRIBLE return process. If you ha e to make a return at TJX, you will find you need to WAIT IN THE PURCHASE LINE which winds around like in an an amusement park to return your item!! Yes folks, even during the super busy holiday time -- no dedicated staff or line to make a return. I waited 15 minutes and found myself lucky, it will only get worse from here. The store manager who I approached about my concern could have cared less, seemed more like s manager mindset of a fast food restaurant. Think twice if you are unsure about your purchase. Even Wal Mart has a service desk for returns. I called CORPORATE Customer Service who said they used to have one 20 years ago???????? Really TJX???? Who runs your store operations???!!!
