This location in Soho does not exactly have the most organized shelves of goods with the clothes sometimes lying around on the lower level. Plus, they don't have a huge selection to choose from to begin with, yet I would still consider it as my most favorite location in all of NYC. I've been to the Broadway spot so many numerous times that I practically know and memorize where most things are located. When you first go through the entrance, there're all these haircare products and hot hair tools by the front area. Then farther down the aisle, a wave of different K-Beauty branded skincare products ranging from toners, snail mucin serums to cleansing oils will welcome you with the simplistic & cute packaging. Honestly, I'm rather surprised at the different products because I hardly see as many variety from other locations in the city. There're also makeup products like mascaras, eyeliners, affordable eyeshadow palettes made in China and even baby pink and blue spa headbands. I like to test out the hair/body mists and perfumes on my upper hand in general. I'm surprised to even see that perfume oils are being displayed/sold on the shelves this time right behind from the skincare, makeup and haircare sections. Of course, the more expensive, well-known name branded perfumes like Ariana Grande and Elizabeth Arden are locked up inside a glass case that customers can ask the help of staff members if they're interested in purchasing. Near the cashiers by the register, I would usually see nail polish sets, greeting cards, different lengths of USB-A & USB-C charging cables, boxed teas and coffees....basically just anything eye catching that people might like to pick up while waiting in line to pay. All in all, TJ Maxx is definitely a lesser expensive option if you're browsing around for stylish-looking knapsacks, crossbody/shoulder bags or even a Michael Kors handbag which is on the opposite side from the skincare/makeup/haircare/body care. Then, there's affordable jewelry under $20 to $30 in the back of the handbags. Going down the escalators to the lower levels on the 2nd & 3rd floors, we've women's clothes and footwear including daily workout gear, heels, flats, dresses, skirts, denim jeans & shorts, dress pants, PJs, blazers, etc. The clothing racks could be messy sometimes, so watch your step as you might see a tee or a single boot on the ground. My favorite floor is probably where they have all the household/kitchenware and different snacks/teas on the eye level shelves. Makes me wanna buy everything in there. Restrooms are sometimes closed off for cleaning though, otherwise it's decently clean most of the time because the staff is always hard at work cleaning the stalls & mopping up the floor. The line to pay at the register can be fast or slow depending on the rush hours/what time of the day, # of cashiers currently working at the counter or if it's the weekdays/weekends. The staff is patient & helps me to carefully & nicely wrap up several perfume mists in paper (avoiding leakage/from breaking) upon request. She does a really great job! If you don't like to pay for a 5¢ paper bag, you can always get a sturdy, reusable TJ Maxx tote for $2-3 next to the register. read more

Still not a great selection and just felt unorganized and difficult to find what you were looking for due to lack of signage. TJ Max Soho - thank you for such an awesome shopping experience. It was very welcoming to hear "Hello, welcome to TJ Maxx, how may I be of service to you today." This inviting greeting was my first introduction by James. James was so kind to listen to my Tahari coat search dilemma, and guided me to the department where I needed to go. I do not recall getting that type of service At Bloomingdales. James showed me where to get the escalator to go to the lower level. As I was browsing for a second Tahari long down coat, I saw store personnel, and asked for her assistance. Let me tell you, I was blown away by the service of this lovely, delightful, kind, and very helpful TJ Maxx staff member named Rubie! Rubie went above and beyond to help me find this back up Tahari down coat because my main one which I am completely in love with, zipper broke a few days after purchase last month. Rubie took the time to go through each jacket in the ladies section to help me find the coat. Even though we could not find the coat, Rubie suggested a very nice coat that was equally as beautiful! Meanwhile as other customers needed assistance with their shopping, I personally witnessed Rubie continue to extend her 10 Star level of service to make everyone's shopping experience a true delight! This was was on the level of rock star service! Highly recommend TJ Maxx Soho, they are an amazing store. As I was continuing to look a delightful guy named Angelo asked if I was interested in a TJ Maxx credit card. Angelo asked in such a kind way, if I was in the market for a store credit card, definitely would have signed up for a store card with him, very classy, professional, and definitely piqued my interest. As someone who loves a nice browse through TJ Maxx, this store is pretty disappointing. First off, it's kind of a bizarre location for a discount store right on Broadway. The shoppers here are mostly tourists who find themselves wandering in. The first floor has accessories, makeup, etc - but it's definitely paired down without a lot of the products you might find in a typical store. If you walk to the back, you can access the other floors. Again, disappointing as there's not as much product or variety. The Christmas decor was very minimal.. sad. Every time I've come into this TJ Maxx, I've ever bought anything (rare). You're better off going to Marshall's in LES. read more

I'm surprised my some of the reviews and expectations about this Soho location. The whole reason you go to a TJ Maxx is for the hunt so it's going to be hit or miss. The lines move very fast and the staff are always helpful. The weekend is obviously much more crowded and a tourist attraction so if you are local, best times are during the week. This is a little known location. T. J. Maxx SOHO at 483 Broadway is another of my favorite locations. They have a little of everything. I love the handbags and sportswear. I find gifts for my daughter. They have designer bags for discount prices. I buy boxes of blank note cards. I look through everything because you never know what you will find. I rarely need customer service. I'm not in this neighborhood often but I stop in here when I am. I'm glad it's still open. Check out is not a problem because they are ready for the crowds at these prices. I could spend a couple hours in here looking at everything. Shop until you drop. read more

This is the neatest, cleanest, most organized TJ Maxx store I've ever been to. Maybe because they recently opened, but most of the products were in great condition. Lots of products were organized on the shelf by shape/size and/or color within their respective categories. At some other locations, there are obvious flaws in the products, damaged packaging, and/or items left in the wrong place. I only spotted a few chipped bamboo spoons here. If you need assistance, there were at least 3 sales associates on each floor. There are 3 floors in all (first floor is beauty products, women's accessories, handbags, cellar is women's clothes, lower cellar is men's and home goods). However, each floor isn't that big and you can browse through all the items on each floor pretty quickly. I noticed at least two changing rooms on the men's floor and two changing rooms on the women's floor. Women's shoe sizes ranged from 5-10, with a lot more shoes in the 7-8 range. However, I thought it was nice that they included the smaller and larger sizes as well. Please note that you won't get any cell/data service on the two lower levels. Also, I dropped by on a weekday morning so there was barely any other customers in the store. I imagine it might get hard to navigate through the aisles on a busy weekend, especially if you're pushing a shopping cart. The aisles in the lower levels are a bit narrow. Love this location. It's super close to my job and extremely convenient for me to get to. The store is smaller than most others, but still has great hidden gems if you're inclined to search. I especially love the beauty & handbag sections. The staff is pleasant and efficient and you cannot beat the deals on designer brands. It's probably got the best bargains in SoHo. read more

I just attended the TJ Maxx grand opening at the Soho location and it was so much fun!! They were handing out macarons, lemonade, mints, had a DJ, and had random gift cards around the store. So fun! Now granted I'm sure everyone is on top of their game at an event but everyone was so friendly and helpful, the store was very well organized, and huge with three floors. This is the newest location that opened up. The store still has that new glossy look to it. The store had three levels and has an elevator in the back. However, I felt like the layout was a bit cluttered and clunky. And they have a smaller selection for some items. The handbag section was tiny but, they have better brands for fine jewellery. I agree with several other reviews that the layout is just a little scattered and awkward. In fact they were restocking the food shelves when I was here during the week, and most of the items on the shelves were blocked by large carts of other merchandise. I purchased a 14k gold necklace, it was labeled as such and in the 14k gold case with other 14k items. Until the item's pin started corroding , I am a jewelry collector and professional, 14k gold does not tarnish this easily and iff it ever does a simple cleaning could remove that corrosion but this item upon cleaning turned darker and darker, as time passes, there is a bright gold chain but the necklace pin is dark. Trust, I know how to make beautiful oxidized jewelry and this just looks bad. I asked tj maxx for clarification they gaslighted me and insisted it was 14k. Long story short, don't buy jewelry here. Tj maxx buyer's don't know metals or they purposely misadvertise. You'll be paying more for less valuable pieces. read more

This location is not very crowded because it is not that well known. It is situated on three levels, and you can find good items if you are patient. Staff at this location are more helpful than in other locations, and there are bargains to be had. The men's location is two levels down, and I was able to find a Weatherproof Vintage jersey for only $19.99. The gourmet kitchen section is also two levels down, and I was able to find Stonewall Kitchen Lemon Herb Aioli, as well as Red Raspberry Jam for only $3.99. It's a little on the cluttered side, and I wasn't aware (at first) that there were three floors to explore. The staff are exceptionally friendly (especially at the cashier) and very helpful. My only nit was that the women's racks were SO overpacked, you couldn't even shift the hangers left or right. It was more of a -- pick out a color (that catches your eye), then yank the top out, to see if you like it. They are overwhelmed with inventory. But I have to say, I left a very happy customer. I found a sweater from Joie, a Tahari gray top and a gray sweater top (brand unknown, but loved it and the $19.99 price tag didn't hurt). I came in today as I approach to the fitting area, I saw a lady with at least 15 items on the rack as I see she was assorting the items so I thought she was an associate, so I had only 3 items as I walk towards the other rack to hang it up so the associate dark skin older woman was very rude, basically screaming at me telling me I have to put it on this rack that I had to wait for the other lady with 15 items on the rack, as I am apologizing to the lady telling her I'm sorry I thought you work here, the lady smile and said it's ok but the associate was very rude and nasty yelling at me for no reason. She gave me a look like you better recognize. This is a place of business. Then I decided not to try on the items and made sure i won't spend my money there. I did speak to a manager about this. My wife and I a longtime resident of NYC and have been a longtime shopper at the TJ Maxx located in SoHo. Usually, I am able to find unique and stylish pieces at the women's section and I have been a happy customer. As of recently, I noticed that the women's section has had a decline in organization. All of the clothes have been moved around the floor and it was done in an unorganized and confusing way. It makes my shopping experience a lot harder and honestly makes me not want to shop there at all if I have to go looking for stuff. This store used to be a tidy and nice place to shop and up to the same standard as other SoHo stores, but now everything is confusing and hard to find! Called a few TJ Maxx location's today to look for an item and the employees are not trained how to look an item up...they pretend to be looking but they really are not looking or paying attention to what you are saying they speak when a person is speaking...what kind of people do you hire they sound like they are smoking weed...I even see this when I go into the store some of the people are so far away and do not know how to communicate but if they their social media in front of them with their cell phones they would know how to communicate and remember everything about the text they just sent is this the types of employees they are hiring... You don't visit TJ Maxx with high expectations, but even by the worst standards, my experience today was pathetic. I'll spare you the details - a return that took forever - but will share highlights: First, a manager whose nametag said "John C." accused me of removing the red plastic tag required to return high-end items. Of course, the item didn't have a red plastic tag when I bought it. But that became an issue. Then, "John C." insisted that emailed receipts from TJ Maxx aren't valid for returns. He very theatrically let me know he was doing me a favor by processing a return using the receipt on my phone. I didn't bother telling him that easy returns -- along with less paper -- are the whole purpose of online receipts. This store gets so much traffic that TJX probably couldn't care less about customer service issues. But shoppers deserve better, and the company should know it. read more

I was making a purchase. I was approved for $33.61 and declined for the $4.34. So the lady at the register insisted that I feel out for some reward card and I'll receive 10% off. So she returned my items and supposedly put the money back on my card. When I went to purchase the stuff the money was withdrawn and not put backing my card. She cared less about anything but getting individuals to sign up for reward cards. The problem at hand is I didn't receive my purchase or money back.
