Been going to TJ's for over 10years and it's always a good time. However, it had been a while and I decided to meet a friend there for dinner. First the positives, the guy who greeted us was friendly and found us a table on the patio even though it was a busy Friday night. The waitress was nice and clearly had too many tables but since finding help is hard we were patient and ignored the unusually slow service. We were there to enjoy the patio, food and have a good time. Overall the food was good, sad they no longer offer side salads but I tried the coleslaw for the first time ever. And also the last time ever. It was nice that they turned on the heaters as the night went on and it started to get cold. When we were ready to go we each got our bills and both noticed that we had 2 payment options. Cash and credit card. If we chose to pay with credit card it would be an additional $1.90. I don't recall seeing any signs or anything letting us know when we walked in that we would be charged that fee. I don't usually carry cash, so I had no choice. Stupid fee because I know they're padding the bill. Then my friend noticed she was being charged $1.50 extra for her "to go" order of wings. So she not only got charged $1.90 for paying with credit but also $1.50 for placing a to-go order after having spent all night at their restaurant eating and drinking. Next time, if there even is a next time, order all of your to go food at the table. Then ask for boxes and pack it up yourself. I understand that businesses are hurting, but everyone is struggling. Maybe TJ's should remember that before adding all these extra fees in addition to price hikes. With that said, I do like this place and I've always enjoyed the patio. And I don't want any restaurant to go out of business. Just not sure I'll go back. Lots of other places like Poor Richards, Bobby's, Truemans, CB Chophouse. Better food at Bobby's...better burgers, pizza and wings. read more

This place is a joke. A couple of weeks ago, I called around 4:30pm on Wednesday night to place a pick up order. The phone rang and rang about 10 times before I finally hung up and re-dialed. The next call, a girl immediately picked up the phone and said "we're busy and short staffed, please hold!!!" and slammed the phone down before I even had time to respond. After waiting 10+ minutes on hold, I hung up again and tried calling back only to get endless rings again with no answer. I finally decided to just drive to the restaurant to place my pick up order. I walked in and there was maybe five customers sitting at the bar, and no one in the dining room. The place was dead so I'm not sure why they weren't answering their phone, and why they lied and said they were busy? There was no one standing at the hostess stand but there was four young teenage girls standing in the back of the restaurant on their phones, and talking to each other. Once someone finally acknowledged me, I placed my order, two large house salads with ranch, boneless wings with blue cheese, and a "playoff burger" with skinny fries. The girl taking my order rudely said "this is TJ's...where do you think you are because we don't have that burger?!" After showing her the "playoff burger" listed on their menu under "specials" on their website she said "oh, we don't have that anymore." No apology for snapping at me. Since they didn't have that burger anymore, I ordered a bacon cheeseburger instead. I waited about 20min, left with the food and got home only to see that my order was completely wrong. My bacon cheeseburger had no bacon on it, and was literally just the beef patty and cheese. No lettuce, tomato, onion or condiments. I had ordered skinny fries and they gave me steak fries, and there was no dressing for my salads or my wings. And the "large" house salads that were $7 each (literally just iceberg lettuce) were small and the size of my hand. Photo for reference. I've been to TJ Wings several times over the past few years, it's a nice place to have a couple drinks with friends but beyond that I'm never very impressed. The "game" room for the kids consists of 2 games, one racing and one shooting. Every other "game" is the prize machines and they all cost $1.00 each. So we spent $8 on games, which only gave them 4 turns each and I ended up coming home with junk. The food is just ok, kind of bland. So while it's not the worst place I've been, it's not the best either. read more

We stopped in since we were in the area to grab dinner. This is a sports bar that has a family feel to it. There were many families eating here and kids all around. This is a large bar with a really nice outdoor patio area. If you want a quieter room....they have a back dining space w/ booths that was well lit. We sat at the bar. Hubby got the wings which he loved and I ordered a Mushroom Swiss burger w/ steamed veggies. The burger was cooked correctly and even though the veggies were of the soggy variety....they were good too. The burger's bun was pretty huge so I didn't eat the top. If I'm in Fenton/Valley Park.....I'm sure we'll be back....it's a nice place for dinner. I'm not a wing person, but Hubby says they are worth ordering if you are. read more

Wings were good. Service was good. Scalding water in the restroom that burned my sons hands were not good. They were nice and apologized. Made sure to get him a towel and ice. What bothered me is that they said they normally have a sign up because it has been a problem for a while. Fix it the problem Before some one gets hurt worse. TJ Wings has always been an establishment that I've passed on numerous occasions, never stopped, and now that I have, I can't believe I waited this long to try it! We stopped by on a Saturday before an event and were put at a random 2 seated in an odd part of the dining room. It was like we were smack dab in the middle of it all which made it hard for people to come and go around us. I don't recommend this table be in this position but it made do. Our waitress was attentive at first, but once our order came it was like she disappeared. The dining room was packed and they were short on servers so that might have been why but a stop here and there, and not just for the check, would have been nice. I'm a boneless wing fan but decided to try the bone in ones as they were recommended and they were great. Not your normal size for a wing, much more bigger and meatier. My husband stuck with the boneless and enjoyed them just as much. There was live music playing and it was great to hear tunes I hadn't heard in a long time. Went to TJ Wings last night, 3-14-21. Their food is decent enough but when we went to pay, the bill came and we sent our credit card to pay. When the charge card receipt came to sign it was $1.90 more than what the bill was. When questioning the owner, she said "everyone in Valley Park is doing it". Unacceptable answer! There was no posting in the restaurant or on the menu about this additional fee. Sliding this fee in without posting about it I feel is a type of theft. Because of this sneaky way of passing on the the credit card fee to the customer and their obvious lack of following the Health Departments Covid Laws (50% customer capacity, 6 feet apart, and mandatory masks) I would think twice about visiting this establishment. read more

Hot and Honey wings, Waffle Fries. 2 Thumbs up. other wing flavors, mehhhhhhhhhhhh. Came here with a couple buddies we split a bunch of wings and some appetizers. The hot and honey wings stood out, but all the other wings were dry and not very good. We sat outside in their extended section with a wobbly table, but service was good. I have eaten here before and it was just ok, but this time was horrible. After craving wings and seeing everyone else saying their wings were so good (Top 10 best in the state?) I figured it was a sure thing. I called in an order for a 12 piece (for $12.49!) and they asked if I wanted blue cheese, ranch or celery which I did request blue cheese, but they did not tell me it was a $0.50 charge for a small cup of blue cheese. I am guessing the celery is an upcharge also. Once I got past the $14 bill for a snack of wings I took them home immediately and was excited to dig in. Well they overcooked them to start off, so the skins were hard and tough, the insides pretty dry. The actual drums and flats were very small and not a lot of meat compared to other places wings and they barely had any sauce at all. I couldn't even taste the tanginess of the hot buffalo sauce, the paper in the bottom of the styrofoam had traces of sauce but no puddles or anything i could even swipe up to try to cover up the overcooked skin/dirty oil taste. They tasted off, almost burnt from being overcooked and chewing through the toughness I was rapidly losing my appetite and not due to satisfaction of my taste buds. I ate about half of the order and was no longer hungry, was not enjoying anything about my snack and just threw the rest away. They weren't even worth saving to reheat later. My advice would be go just about anywhere else and you'll have better wings. Hot Shots would be a 5 star meal compared to this and they have never screwed my wings up, shorted me sauce or upcharged me for garnishes. I don't care if its free I am not going back nor recommending TJ Wings to anyone I know that loves wings. Just stick to Hot Shots. read more

Not a fan. The chicken wings were large, undercooked and grisly. The burger was preformed and tasted like cardboard. Both were pretty much inedible. The place is dirty, sticky and smells. Good local bar. Good sandwiches. Usually excellent service. Love the patio! Good happy hour and game specials. Clean bathrooms. Good live music. It's a good place to take families and groups. Went to dinner with a friend and I ordered a Chicken Philly which comes with chips. My food came out with fries, so I figured they're out of chips, no biggie. I wanted chips but not worth saying anything. When we get the bill I was charged $2 extra for fries. When the waitress came by, I said you up charged me for fries but I didn't order them. She said "well you ate them didn't you"? I explained, I assumed you were out of chips, that's what I wanted but no big deal. She proceeds to tell me I shouldn't have eaten them if I didn't want them and she'll see what she can do. She comes back and says I refunded you but next time "don't eat them"! I said well I never ordered them so next time don't charge people for something they didn't order. After reviewing the bill, she didn't refund us and actually over charged us $2.35. What a joke! This is the 2nd time in a row having issues with this place and won't be going back!! This waitress lost out on a nice tip and customer's over her very rude behavior and $2!! I understand businesses are doing their best but not in this case. I came in & asked if there was room @ the bar. Chairs were spaced nicely except for about 8 people (regulars) at the end of the bar. It started getting more crowded. No adherance to 25% capacity. A regular patron middle age man leaned across another mans drink (while he was in the restroom) to help himself to the bar's soda gun & filled a glass (during which, the man sitting there cane back with a look of dismay & wtf) & gave it to an elderly man next to him. Within minutes, as people were milling around w/ no mask, another man walked behibd everyone at the bar w/o a mask laughing/gafawing (w/ who knows what spewing from his wide open mouth) on his way to talk to the man who helped himself to the bartenders soda gun. Nice spot! I have lived in the area for 15 years and never been here. Went on a whim after shopping at Carol House. Had boneless wings, bone in wings, onion rings, and side salad. Boneless wings were good quality, bone in wings were really well cooked and good size. Mild buffalo sauce was perfect "heat" but very oily. Hot buffalo sauce was definitely hot but not unbearably so, and the sauce was very strongly vinegary. Onion rings were large and really high quality, loved them! Side salad was standard STL bar style with iceberg, provel, & bagged croutons, just what you would expect from a bar & grill. Prices were reasonable but not as low as you might expect from an out-of-the-way bar and grill. You're looking at $10 for most sandwiches and burgers. Restaurant was mostly bar with a smaller dining room on one side and a nice sized enclosed and heated patio on the other. We sat on the patio to have more quiet and we were comfortable. I'm guessing the bar does good business and looks like a nice spot to have a drink with friends. Lots of TVs and a golden tee machine! I just recently moved into my new house and everyone has been telling me, oh my gosh you live so close to TJ Wings, You've got to try it. So what did I do? I tried it, twice in the first weekend we moved, actually. Probably the best wings I have ever had. It's a cute little bar/restaurant with a decent patio that happens to serve some amazing wings. I can't really speak for the rest of the menu unfortunately, except their fries and those are really good too. I have tried the hot, Cajun, and the hot & honey wings. All are so good and you can't really go wrong. I am excited to keep coming back in the future. Really good service too! Can't beat that! read more
