We were separated in another area with another large party & they had better service from a different server. I havent been to this Syberg's in ages. The decor is fun. Its bar food but honestly inwas very disappointed in the food. Caesar salad was drenched in dressing & didnt have much flavor. Portions are large. Side salad was more than enough. This local chain is known as your neighborhood tavern with elevated bar food. "My "twisted" smashburger was a pretty typical cheeseburger with a style of sauce that was something like the yum yum sauce you get in Asian restaurants but with cayenne -- sweet with a kick. There are plenty other places in area to get inexpensive beer but don't serve food, let alone good bar food - wings and pizza especially. So, if you're at a fork and deciding which bar to go to, keep this place at the top of your list if in the socity area. Service is always good but it does get extremely busy and parking can be a nightmare if local teams are on TV. A bonus for this location is that it opens even near blizzard conditions in the winter if you brave to leave the house. read more

This is the OG Sybergs for me! They have a larger variety of seating and the service is always top notch! The Syshrimp and Wings with Syberg's sauce always hits the spot. It is always on the noisier side so this would not be good for a business lunch but the best place for a happy hour or night out. They also have lots of street parking and a parking lot in the back of the restaurant. For accessibility, this restaurant is quite hard to navigate without a guide and I would say very difficult for a mobile assistance seat. You will also have to ask for a table on the main floor as there is a large set of stairs to take you to the second floor seating area. The restrooms are also not too accommodating but again with a guide this will be manageable. read more

Wow, 15 years since my last review? We come here often, and I have gotten the same order for a lot of those years. This time we got there after 9:00 last Saturday, late for dinner but there were a lot of people still eating and they seated us, no problem Busy more often than not, servers are efficient and friendly. The food is consistent and always good. You can count on what you order every time. I did not stick with the Sybergs chicken sandwich but pretty close. I typically didn't eat the bun anyway so now I get the Sybergs chicken strip dinner with fries and a side salad. No cheese, extra croutons, and extra Italian dressing. Chicken tenders are good sized, cooked perfectly, and always tender and juicy. It is a pretty basic salad but the croutons and dressing push it up to great. I haven't ordered anything different in years! We sometimes get a Joe Mama's pizza to go, so good! Perfect balance of sauce, cheese, and toppings. They have an upstairs area with more TV's, the dining area downstairs, and a lively bar with high tops. The outside patio is great, too. If you crave consistently good food, this is it! read more

Syberg's buffalo sauce can be divisive. It is a "Mustardy" buffalo sauce. I really don't care for mustard in general, but I LOVE Syberg's buffalo sauce. The buffalo sandwich is made with two large chicken tenders dipped in the sauce on a nice fresh bun. Nothing very fancy, but loaded with flavor and a good size. The fries are crinkle-cut and well cooked, but not greasy. This is one of my go-to grabs. The Gravois location can be crowded at times with after-hours parties or for games, but the parking lot is pretty large and over all worth circling around to find a spot. W visited Syberg's Friday 08/01. Worst meal at Syberg's in forty-plus years of paronage. We all have a bad day once in awhile . . . but this was more than a bad day. The food was just short of inedible. It was a cool night so we sat on the patio. There was live music by a guitarist and young woman with a great voice. Our server was nice, took our drink order and brought us water, After she returned with our drinks we ordered. My date ordered Chicken Modega with a salad and potato. I ordered a cup if chicken gumbo and Kirk's Open Face FAMOUS Syberg's roast beef with fries. The salad arrived but no sign of my gumbo. Shorty after the entrees arrived. Her salad, potato were fine. The Modega Chicken, okay but nothing exciting or that would make you order again. The bad news . . . I've eater their gumbo dozens of times. I'm okay with the okra based chicken gumbo which they have always served a little spicy. but this time it was over the top spicy. And thick as pasty stew. It seemed as though they left it too cook way down. This would explain the nasty texture and spiciness. It also had so much chick it made it eat dry. I managed to eat half the bowl before I surrendered. Now the FAMOUS Syberg's roast beef Epic fail. It came to the table as dried out over cooked sliced beef on a small bland bun, with fries on the side. A brown, unappetizing plate with a small cup bland tasteless broth. Not so much so much as a pickle chip for color. It was embarrassing. I chocked down half and took the rest home to my dog. It's difficult to write this being the fab of Syberg's that I am. Miss the shark chunks days . . . but management needs to know. Another failure is the service. Our server should have checked on us and asked how our meal was? "Could I get you anythin0g?" Maybe some horseradish? The meal looked like it was served by a team that doesn't care. Customers, especially those who have supported you for more than forty years. read more

I found out that for 2 years, Sybergs has stopped serving Shark Bites, such a downer. Broke my STL Heart. For a long time, that's what the Shark meant. I understand the rising cost of shark meat so I get it, but you can get shark meat by the pound for like $25. I know this for a fact. Otherwise, the food is decent. Thankfully they have Uncle Nearest. Might go back again. Great upstairs and patio seating for a good bar night. read more

Went to Syberg's for happy hour, we hadn't been in some time and were pleasantly surprised! The bar expanded the patio area so we sat outside and listened to live music while enjoying some wings. Fantastic patio and the band "Big Love"...wow, they were great! If you like wings Syberg's is the place! Super meaty and the sauce is amazing!!! This place is the best!! The atmosphere is rocking and the food is so delicious. The service was quick and efficient. I never once had two flag down the wait staff to fill our drinks or anything like that so that was nice. We also never felt rushed even though they were extremely busy. We come here often. The food is typically really good. Today I ordered the chicken Philly sandwich. There sure was not very much on the sandwich, mostly bread. I did receive a lot of fries on it. Service... 6/10 Price... 9/10 Food... 7/10 The floor plan is a major downside to this location. Servers have to yell each time they come out of the kitchen. The host stand is located in the middle of several table tables, resulting in an uncomfortable. Our service was very expeditious, and our sever brought us everything we needed. But small talk or greetings were not on the menu. It was very clear of stress on all of these workers faces. The food was solidly alright. The Sybergs sauce is actually really good, and it has a tangy taste. The Mac was good once all of the chicken was incorporated. The Tacos were also very fresh. read more

We come here as a family once a year during Christmas time and it's one of our favorite traditions! The service we had the other day was great, and we were helped and served quickly. It was a busy weekend night but it didn't seem to delay our food at all. I always get the famous Syberg's wings and they never disappoint- there's nothing else like their wing sauce! Our toddler loved the kids pepperoni pizza, and another family member enjoyed the chicken wrap. No one had any complaints about the food, like usual. The only bummer is that the restaurant itself always seems to be pretty crowded and difficult to navigate. Looking forward to returning again next year!! read more

We returned last night with our usual group, called ahead because we expected to be 10 all together and were seated promptly, despite two members of our party bowing out at the last minute. We were again in the smaller upstairs room where another large party was already enjoying their meal. Our waitress was swift, attentive and very kind, as we've experienced in the past. We placed our order pretty quickly and set about our catch-up with friends. My husband got his cup of gumbo quickly and he liked it more than he'd even expected. After that we waited about 45 minutes for everyone's main dish to arrive. Not sure why so slow. I really liked my Sunset Turkey Club sandwich with sweet potato fries. Friends had grilled chicken, whiskey glazed salmon and various customized burgers. The two kids with us devoured the kids mac and cheese. Minor problems with the split checks were resolved quickly and we were on our way. Good experience save the long wait after ordering. As we were getting ready to leave, another group was seated in the room we were in. My friend noted that same group checked in with the hostess while we were waiting to be seated and was told they'd have a 30 minute wait. They were being seated an hour and a half later, long after their table stood empty but uncleared for over 20 minutes. We'll certainly be back, but something was very much off with timing last night. Hoping it was just a glitch in the kitchen or an issue of staff out sick, some nasty bugs are going around. read more

And the ambiance was Syberg's style, which is not my favorite (loud and lots of TVs). Overall, the experience was decent, but not over the top. read more

Hi, my name is Phyllis . I was excited to order from Syberg's tonight, I have been in the hospital for a couple of weeks and wanted something yummy! Well it was far from it! What a disappoint ! Along with this I got my husband a steak sandwich which he said was good. I called in the curb side service, they said about 20 min to call when I got there. I called 10 min later , it was almost cold! That was horrible !! $45.00, and I left a sizable tip! It didn't smell a bits at all like pickles. And the onion rings didn't smell like onions! It is a great restaurant for the neighborhood! Everyone was greeted as they walked in. There is a front or back entrance, through the bar area. Our waitress was bubbly and efficient. There are tables, and unfortunately, they're small and too close together. The menu is also a bit too large. It felt slightly overwhelming to decide what to choose. Had a great experience at Syberg's Gravois! Sitting upstairs was nice with the tvs and pictures on the wall. Syberg's burger was awesome and so was the salad! I ordered the hamburger without cheese not realizing the salad came with cheese as well. I tend to forget about cheese on the salad because I am used to just scraping it off the top....but the waiter stopped back by to double check! You know I didn't find it all that great. This was our first time there and I don't think we caught them on an off night, I think that's just how things are. Who knows. The ambiance is good, it's a nice bar/hangout place. And I'm sure I'll give it a second try but I'll pick something totally different on the menu. We started with the Syberg's Famous Chicken Dip. Unfortunately my 19 year old daughter could easily recreate something similar at home without much input. It's a sort of buffalo sauce meets mayo meats chicken chunks and cheese. The tortilla chips are super good, though. It's one of those things that I'm sure really hits the spot once you've had a few drinks in you. :) We went on Tuesday and the daily special on Tuesday is an 8oz top sirloin with one side. Baked potato was picked. The steak indeed was an 8oz, not a huge portion but you can't really expect anything huge for $14 nowadays. It, as well as my wife's, was ordered med to med-rare, somewhere in that vicinity. They both came out well done. (see picture) Not a huge deal, sometimes it's hard to cook a somewhat thin piece of meat to the exact point. The meat was nice, and seasonings and sauce were nice, it made for a good steak nonetheless. What I found funny was the presentation. I know it's hard to show off a small piece of meat but there was a small leaf of lettuce there with two thin half-slices of orange, that's it. I thought it was cute. But I digress! The baked potatoes were a little harsh. Dry and my wife's spud had several black spots on it. I tried to take a picture but it didn't look like anything but a mess so I skipped it on this post. Next time, and there will most likely be a next time, I will stick with the apropos genre, a casual bar restaurant. The waitstaff is very nice. Our waitress was very pleasant and attentive. Drinks were refilled promptly and the food was well spaced out from drinks to appetizer to entree. The noise level was good, the people watching was good, and the experience was on the positive side. A long time I establishment in St. Louis and serve decent food and a great atmosphere

When a place is always busy, you know it's a good sign--so aim for an earlier dinner time! I'm a big fan of the wings, love the quesadilla as an appetizer, and really enjoy the salmon, along with plenty of other menu items. It's definitely a St. Louis favorite, and I'm not the only one who thinks so; I've never seen this place slow down! read more

Eat the shark before he eats you!!! This is a seriously fun place, with great food, nice surroundings and a convivial buzz. It also has newly renovated outdoor dining; unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate during my visit. Nonetheless, the wait staff and food are just great. I had a really nice mixed green and chicken salad. Excellent lunchtime fare, but a tad heavy on croutons. Only real drawback is that entry for the mobility impaired is a little difficult, but doable. 32 years ago, my now wife and I used to come here for good food and beverage, especially their chix wings and, back then, Michelob Dry so we had to come back to visit it again. We were not disappointed as we gathered with long time friends again to catch-up on old times. Chicken Wings were as good as ever and the pizza as well. But the new revelation was their grilled pork chop. It was excellent, well cooked and very juicy, and the bourbon based sauce really made it delicious. They also make a very good margarita with good tequila and a decent mix at a reasonable price. My point, they have more than just beer and regular mixed drinks. Overall they have and always had good food and friendly service with famous wings and cold beer. Come visit! You won't regret it. read more

They treat their male employees like they dont matter. They don't get to bartend or serve the tables near the bar. They are also force the men to only wear black polos all year round while the female employees can wear colored v-necks during the summer but the men can't. All employees should be treated equally. read more
