I have been going to TK Nails for over 10 years and don't think I would go anywhere else. Recently I went in to get my typical no-chip manicure, usually the technician will use acetone or soak the polish to make it easier to remove.. This time the technician did not do that and used the nail drill for all of my nails. Here is what that means: Purpose: It gently grinds off the gel polish layer instead of soaking it off. Attachments: Uses different drill bits (ceramic, diamond, carbide) depending on whether they're removing color, smoothing the nail, or prepping for a new manicure. Benefit: Faster and avoids prolonged chemical exposure. Downside: If not done carefully, it can thin or damage the natural nail. My natural nails are thin and damaged after this and again this is the first time the nail drill was used to remove all of my nail polish without any soaking. I take regular breaks for my nails as well, so this was truly something I know is due to this. I don't know if I'm going to go back or I will have to specify please do not use the nail drill until the end to remove the stubborn parts of the polish. I'm pretty disappointed. read more

I absolutely love TK nails! I tell everyone I know to choose this nail salon! Jenny and Ivy usually do my nails but you can't go wrong with anyone at the salon. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming they have truly turned into friends. My nails have never lasted as long as they do when I get them done at this salon. My nail technician was busy watching her phone under the table while she did my nails and when she rudely hurried me to another table as soon as she finished and I smudged a nail, she rolled her eyes and sighed at me, as well. She was also aggressive during the actual services. Unfortunately, this was my worst experience at a nail salon in all my life. Not good! First time I've ever been here and the girl doing my nails was more interested in her phone than doing my nails. Which is why my no chip chipped! I went back the next day and told them why I was there and they told me I had to wait or come back. They would not schedule an appointment for a repair. What?!?!? It was their fault it was a repair. No sorry, no let's make it right...no customer service. My nails are also crooked. I called that out when the gal was doing them and she said it will be okay. It's not. My dip manicure chipped 4 nails after 2 days of having it. I wasn't doing anything that should have caused this. I called and explained that I live out of state and was visiting my mom, so I cannot come back and get them touched up. The woman on the phone did not listen to me and kept telling me just to come back, despite me continuing to say that I can't. I asked for a refund, and she said she will have the owner call me. I don't literally come here every other week and spend over $80 with tip included. There are 100s of nail salons around the area, and the fact that I choose to come to your salon should be a good enough reason for you to be appreciative. I came in for a fix, and my bad, I asked the same question twice because I didn't understand the lady. She has the audacity to roll her eyes and sigh at me ‍ I didn't even let her continue and left the place immediately. I've gone here several times and I haven't once had a good experience. I tried to give the benefit of the doubt and assumed maybe the one tech I had wasn't good, but every single person has been AWFUL. I had an appointment and when I walked in, not one single worker acknowledged me or said a word. I sat down and waited for 25 minutes before they brought me back. What's the point of an appointment? The lady laughed when I said I wanted my nails short because of work. The nails she did are different lengths, they lift up, they're SUPER thick, glue on my fingers, etc. And it was $60! I have been coming here for years. I have always found the staff to be professional and courteous, and I've never had a bad mani or pedi! They are priced very competitively, and any time I had an issue with a nail chipping (which is rare) - they fix it, no problem. I have never witnessed any of the techs being rude to a customer as some of these reviews say - but I have seen several customers be rude to the staff, unfortunately. I went in to get my chipped nails redone and they tried to tell me that it's normal for them to chip. I have been going to the same woman at Lee Nails for a dip and they easily last 3-4 weeks. A couple weeks ago I came and Lynn burned under my eyebrows with the wax. Today, I came in with family for a bridal party later in the day. Because of religion, we use special nail polish from home that's more breathable. She not only made it apparent that the polish was hard to work with, but even tried to go against my wishes and use her own. She was EXTREMELY rude. Was aggressive, laughing at me and ruined my morning for no good reason. I even offered to do my own nails at that point. I never leave reviews, because I know how tough customer service is. If i was able to give 0 stars i would, i have never in my life received this type of horrible customer service. I got gel nails a week prior and 3 of the nails chipped, I went in calm trying to get my nails fixed. Instantly the manager attacked me as if i was asking for free service. I AM WILLING TO PAY. I just wanted to inform her, i was embarrassed in front of the whole salon which my family and i have been going to for years now. My daughter and I went here and the owner who sits at the front of the business as well as the young lady who sits right next to her are extremely rude. Note: The lady name unknown who sits next to the owner did my nails. At the end of our services I went to pay and handed the young lady a tip out of courtesy when she said in a nasty tone what about the tip for your daughter. I nearly fell backwards. I couldn't believe she said that. First of all, tips are optional and are not required. Secondly, tips are given based on good service which I didn't receive. Every time I asked a question she would sigh will doing my nails as if I was bothering her. I will Never go back to this nail salon. There are too many nail salons with better service. I have been going to TK Nails for 6+ years and they still don't treat me as regular customer. I am an Asian and clearly I can see them showing partiality for Caucasian customers. I go there because they are quicker and pedicure includes certain services which others in my area charge extra. Do not expect great customer service as they are always busy and try to accommodate as many as possible. They inform about waiting only if there is a wait time more than 30 minutes. I have experienced ignorance or mocking comments at least 5 times. Professionalism does not exist. They keep talking in a different dialect all the time and mostly commenting about customers like me. I was overcome with nostalgia after my most recent visit to TK. This was my go to spot through middle and high school & I would always come get my nails done whenever I was home on holiday breaks while in college. Now that I've moved away, I haden't been in at least 2 years! When I visited yesterday, the owner looked up & immediately said, "oh my goodness, how are you? long time no see!" What a warm welcome & it made me really feel at home. The service is always delightful, very friendly & consistent group of technicians. Together, they do a high quality job & the prices are very affordable. They also recently remodeled the entire salon, it's gorgeous & has a more spa-like feel. I wish I could take them back to Kansas with me, but whenever I come back to Naperville I will definitely stop by. I can't believe I haven't reviewed TK Nails yet! They're seriously amazing! I've been getting no chip manicures there for over 2 years. I'm a nurse, so I'm super rough on my hands - regular nail polish/manicure only last about 3-4 hours into my 12+ hour shift so no chip is really the only way to go! I've only ever had issues with chipping my nails 2 or 3 times over the past 2 years (I get them done every 3 weeks regularly, so lots of manicures!) and they fix them no problem each time!! I just moved from Naperville but driving from Hoffman Estates (~30 miles) is so worth it because they last forever! I posted a pic of my nails, Jenny did them 10/03/2015 and they haven't chipped at all, I'm getting them done Thursday because they're so grown out but it's seriously so amazing that they can last 4 weeks!! read more

Ummm they're okay. There was a couple nice employees and some rude ones. So I came in to get my first acrylic set and a pedicure for my upcoming graduation #2K16!!! So when we got in (without an appointment) we were seated fairly quickly which is a plus because it was pretty crowded! Anyways so we sat down and I gave the colors to the woman who was doing my pedicure and I guess she was having a bad day because she was kind of snappy to me. (Just a tint of an attitude) but I ignored it anyways. The job itself was pretty nice, and when she was finished she kind of shooed me away like some peasant! So onto the manicure ( or full set) this lady was much nicer, she asked how long I wanted the nails and continually asked if I was okay, with the "design". So that was a plus. Also there was a real nice and funny man inside the salon. So that was a plus too. I guess you could say I'm a little biased or inexperienced when it comes to nail salons, but this is solely my opinion based on my experience. They came out fairly nice though, but when it is time for another set, I think I will go elsewhere, just to see if a can find a better "fit" for me. read more

The last two times I've been, my nails have 1. Looked awful 2. Didn't last they they should have. I totally disagree with the other review! I have been going here for almost 2 years now, would I keep going back if I didn't like the quality and service? Just like anyone, we have our good days and the bad and some days they are crazy busy and some days just empty. The only reason that I would not give a 5 is that, yes some of the staff have a bit of attitude at times but certainly not everyday that I have been there. I think it is just a matter of how they handle their emotions in the workplace. Overall they are friendly, know my style and colors I like. If you want "spa" feeling, this is not the place, it is a place to get your nails done and maybe a quick wax. The basic pedi is a "basic" so if you want something "fancier" ask for it! They have a menu but if you go in and ask for a pedi, you are going to get the basics because they are not the type that will try to sell you more just because they can-if you want more ASK! They are clean and family run! If I ever have a problem with a chip/repair, they are happy to help. Prices are average when it comes to fake nails/polish. I will continue to go back even though I pass about 10 different nail places along my way to them, they are so worth it! read more

Not sterile!! The lady who is doing my pedicure afterwards cleaned the tools in the same tub water that my feet were soaking in, and then put them away for next person. Also they don't follow state laws because it states that you have to use the new nail file and buffer for every client per the law, but they don't! Ewwwe will not be back! I don't want some sort of infection because this place doesn't keep their stuff clean, or use new stuff as required by law! read more
