Like how the door handle has a hand instead of a handle or a knob. We go in and just like anyone who hasn't been in, in awhile or never been, we look around to check out the place. One customer assumed my friend was looking for an ATM and said it in a making fun of kind of way, had I overheard that I would've said something, I was further up checking out the whole place and the bar. We go to sit at the bar and browse their very limited cocktail menu. My friend orders an Appletini like drink, I order something with the name Garbage in it, came with a Red Bull. Unbeknownst to me I was supposed to turn the Red Bull can upside down in the drink. According to the bartender she didn't want to come off as rude if she were to tell me to do that. I don't like RB anyway. Even though the place was redone and looks great on the inside, the environment is not very welcoming of new/not regular customers. My friend won't be back, as for me not sure.

Free earplugs, strong drinks, and plenty of head banging. Genuinely the mosh pit here is always popping, and of course everyone remembers their mosh etiquette as people will help you up if you fall, and ask if you're okay if you seem hurt. I'm the friend that holds everyone's glasses and watches from the side though so if moshing isn't your thing, still come for the music and punk vibes. (I personally love watching people express themselves through moshing, I think it's such a beautiful raw expression of emotions!) The bar area has a few booths but is pretty small, but the back room where the shows are held is pretty spacious but fills up quickly. There's also a back patio! Ultimately, Mag bar is a great spot for a show, a drink, and some good ass music.

It is a small neighborhood bar that has quite some years on it and you can tell. I was greeted by the hosts for the shuttle bus and got a complimentary beer for choosing Nachbar as my pick up location. I did get my complimentary beer and left a generous tip. They had Nords Donuts for food for this event. Beer and Donuts? Very odd combination, was hoping for The Post Pizza or something that was real food. It was free so no complaints other than it was an odd combo. Note: they don't serve food at Nachbar. The inside is kinda dated and there is good seating. Bathrooms are set up like Mag Bar and Kerns Korner. IFYKYK. The outside is more spacious than the inside. They do have a nice patio. As for the inside it looks cool and they have plenty of board games and plenty of local beer on taps that you don't see at most bars. The female manager, with the sides of her head shaved, was hugging, kissing, and being overly familiar with every customer who walked in. It was extremely uncomfortable. We decided to play a game of pool and noticed a pool stick already on the table, along with others. A customer, who the manager had been hugging and kissing, came over to my friend, aggressively grabbed the stick, and made a scene, telling my friend that it was his stick and that there would be a problem if he used it again. Later, my friend accidentally left a beer on the pool table (we know it's not allowed, it was an honest mistake). Without warning, the manager--who appeared to be on something--came over, reached around my friend, grabbed the beer, and shouted, "Is this your beer? Get it off my fucking table!" Then, she returned to the group of people by the bar. We all noticed they were talking about us and pointing in our direction. To top it off, there was a "singer" at the bar who was singing over the original Spotify track, which was honestly more comical than anything else. The entire atmosphere was unprofessional and uncomfortable. When we left, the same manager was staring us down in the parking lot. This place felt very run-down and appeared to be run by a group of friends and regulars. Any newcomers should beware--these people are not friendly at all. Worst bar I've ever been to, hands down.

There's a bartender named Yan who used to run this challenge where he'd make you a cocktail and only charge you if you liked it, he was really good at what he does. He's the one who introduced me to the Paper Plane, which is now one of my all-time favorite cocktails. I'm not sure if he's still there, but the other bartenders seem pretty good too. Just tell them what you're in the mood for and let them guide you. Here's what I got recently: The Dark Bar Princess: a must if you like something sweet and fruity. I'd say it's lime-forward with a strong pomegranate presence, and the gin completely disappears into it. Super refreshing and really easy to slam. Highly recommend this one. The Day Disco: a mezcal cocktail with a chili rim that brings real smokiness and heat. It's got a little sweetness to balance it out, but the mezcal is definitely there. I've never loved mezcal so this is just "pretty good". Monkey Drive shot: It smells and tastes artificial, like heavy fake banana, almost chemical. Not their strong suit. On the food side, I can definitely recommendthe Machada empanada for $6. Beefy, cheesy, and one of the best bar snacks they have supposedly. The bartender told me it's their biggest crowd-pleaser and I agree. Overall, would recommend this spot
