Tony seemed nice and accommodating over the phone when booking. However the crew sent was older, slow moving, and couldn't lift many of the items which I expressed when booking we were only moving large items. My boyfriend had to physically take apart all of the furniture and move it to the truck to save time. We only moved a few large items and moved the smaller things in our own cars. We had to have them stop and take what was loaded to avoid going over longer. When they dropped the furniture off they just dropped it off and we didn't have them put it together. It shouldn't take more than the quoted 4 hours to take apart 2 beds, a dining room table, a dresser and 2 mounted TVs and put them back together. We were charged for 5 hrs and didn't get half of what we asked for because we didn't want to pay for 6 hrs when we were quoted for 4. We should have just rented a uhaul and saved ourselves the aggravation and money. I definitely do not recommend them. read more

The movers were good and quick but my reasoning for the 2 stars is because of the extra fees and being overcharged. I signed up for $85/hr, figuring my 1 bedroom apartment would take at most, 3 hours, but they charged me for their breaks (which included drinking beers) as well as the apartment to the truck more than 70 ft fee ($125) which shouldn't have applied since my apartment was right next to the elevator and I wasn't told about this on the phone when I asked about fees. They charged me for 5 hours (after "rounding up") and then proceeded to guilt me for the tip I gave. The tip ended up costing me another $80 and they still said I was being cheap. "Come on, we put in a long day, etc. etc." I have never been guilted so hard. While the work done was great, I definitely feel scammed and taken advantage of. Will not be using again. read more

Used this company back in May. Their was 3 guy's and they didn't listen to my wife as she told them what she wanted. Things got broken and things went missed and they we're very professional, on all our things they wrote on the outer wrappings " made in panama"! WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN!!! read more

This moving company was recommended to me by Frank Amador my realtor, I was a bit hesitant to hire them since the reviews are so mixed. Given that my realtor was great I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. I am glad I did. When I called I booked with a man named Tony, we went over prices and the prices were quite reasonable given other companies I had called. Tony gave me a call the day before to confirm time. The crew which consisted of David, Phillip, and Cesar showed up around 930. Perfect timing because things always pop up at the last minute. The guys were fast, great, and friendly. They all communicated greatly amongst one another and packed my items very well (especially my fancy lamp) lol. I moved an hour and a half away and let me just tell you they showed up to my new home before I did! I could go on and on, but to keep it short if you are in doubt ask Tony for these three guys specifically and I am sure you will not be disappointed. read more

I know it has been a while since I moved (11/30/17) but with working, the holidays and having caught the popular flu going around, it delayed my writing this. I'm just going to dive in. The movers were careful with my stuff, but, it ended up taking 10 hours to move a two-bedroom townhouse. Thew were so slow. They did not have to move any appliances from the house. And, it did not include moving the garage! And, in fact, I had moved all of the boxes to the downstairs, so it would be easier on them and not take so long. I am a single person with not a lot of money. I can say that I never want to see shrinkwrap again in my life. There was so much shrinkwarp on everything, that it took me days to get it all off. One of the movers put loose items in a wardrobe box for me. He wrapped it so tight that it broke one of my items. It was just a plastic hamper. But, when I let him know he had broken it, he said it would only take $5 to replace it. I told him that wasn't the point. He said he would go buy me a new one. Again, that was not the point. (he did not replace it, btw) They also put a hole in the wall at my old place when they rounded the corner taking furniture down the stairs. A couple of items were broken when they were going down the ramp, and the boxes fell off of the dolly at my new place. One of the movers, the same one that said it would only take $5 to replace the broken hamper, continually talked to me about $$. He asked how I was going to tip them. Was I going to give them cash? He also questioned me about double drive time. I told him I had already confirmed it with Paul that I would not be charged for it since I was less than the miles required and time required. He did not believe me and made me show him and forward him, the email that said I would not be charged for it!!!! After many inquires about $$, I told the other movers to keep him away from me. After MANY hours of moving, he came to me again and said they were at about 2/3 they way and that the bill needed to be settled. He said he would charge me an estimated amount, and if they didn't go over that, he would have it refunded to me. I said NO WAY would I advance money to the company that I don't have. Again, I told him to stay away from me until the job was done. It got to be so late that I just had them put the remaining items in the garage, but I was exhausted. They had arrived at my first location at 10am. I finally sent them home at 8pm. Again, this was just a two-bedroom townhouse. They did not have to move any appliances from the house. And, it did not include moving the garage! (I didn't include the garage, because I needed to try and keep it affordable) I only had them get the refrigerator from my garage since I didn't have a way to move it myself. It ended up costing me $1050 to move my small place. I am thinking they moved slow so they could charge me for the hours. DO NOT use this company. read more

SUMMARY: * Don't get fooled by their low hourly rates. Their movers are OLD and SLOW and you will pay more. A small 2 bedroom, moving 5 miles, was over $3000, took 2 full days, and was not even finished. For reference, when I moved two years ago (generally the same move), it was $900 and done in a day. * Don't trust what management says. The owner promised a "small" markup on boxes and ended up charging me almost $1000 on packing material alone. (Over 400% markup -- on my previous move of similar contents, I was charged just over $100) * They don't stick to their promises. When I brought up the markup issue, the manager said that if I didn't like it I could take them to court. Then he said because I was 'causing problems' (since asking about contractual promises is apparently a problem) that he would be changing the payment terms and would only accept 100% cash. * Management is abusive. When we ended up going in a second day for the move (because it was so slow and because we were supposed to unload until 9pm but stopped at 530pm without reference to me), one of the movers presented me with a stack of documents to sign. I said I would be happy to, but asked that the other movers start moving (instead of standing around) while we went over the documents. He agreed. Then a few minutes later a manager type from TLC came to my apartment (!) and started yelling at me in front of my neighbors and my child about how I was "refusing" to sign the documents and that TLC doesn't have to do this move and they have all of my stuff in their truck and if I don't like TLC's rules I can take them to court. I told the manager to please lower his voice and to give me the documents to sign. He smiled and refused. In an extremely slow voice, as if talking to a 4 year old, he explained to me what a "form" was and what a "signature" was ("a signature....means...you....sign....your....name....here" -- he did this for each of five signature fields on one form). He managed to draw this out to a 45 minute process. While 4 movers I was paying for stood around, not allowed to work on my move. And believe me, TLC has a LOT of forms -- I had to sign three separate forms reminding me to tip (I did tip the movers themselves generously -- it's not their fault management puts them in an impossible position), and two forms that stated that the move was done perfectly and I had no complaints. I'm not going to continue this because there's no point. Don't get fooled by the friendly "John". He disappears at the first sign of trouble and you'll get some hotheaded ball of muscle on your doorstep threatening and cursing at you if you question ANYTHING. TO BE FAIR -- THE GOOD The movers themselves were all polite and easy to work with. They seemed to work to the best of their abilities -- the younger fit ones on the second day were fine, and the older, tired ones seemed to be trying their best. There was some breakage of paintings, but so far it seems repairable so I'll live, and a lot of delicate objects seemed to be packed well. read more

We had to move with only two days notice. Paul and Tony couldn't have been nicer about holding the date for us till literally the night before when we found out we were moving. And then- the crew showed up in the morning- we had not been able to pack A THING since it all happened so fast. They packed our entire house and worked from 9:30 am-10:30 pm all along with the most amazing attitude. Jorge Martinez and his team of Solomon, Robert and Pedro were the most kind, hard working, wonderful people and movers. They handled everything with care, had a smile on their face and cake back the next day for another few hours to finish up. They fit furniture in such tight spaces, put every box where it belonged and wouldn't leave before they checked multiple times that everything was where we wanted. TLC moving out of Rio Rancho NM is not worth your time. Had a move scheduled over a month in advance and they didn't show. At first the morning arrival time kept getting delayed. Then there were promises that they were just finishing up a previous job when I was expecting ours was going to be the first based on the timeframe of 7 to 9 am. By the way they also refuse to communicate by other than texting which is extremely irritating when you have an issue with any contractor. The final straw was when whoever I was texting with told me that the helpers who were finally on there way had a vehicle breakdown on the freeway. Yeah right. Oh and that was around noon. So if you really need help moving please look elsewhere or you'll regret it like I did. read more

TLC movers have been nothing but a nightmare for us we moved from Florida to Lethbridge and on our drive here they would not leave us alone demanding the rest of the money .We went through areas that had no cell phone service and they still kept hassling us leaving threating messages. I talked to the owner he was very rude and nasty aacted lile a little rude boy. They said our belingins were in Canada but then told us they were still in the state's thry are holding our belingins hostsge untill we pay them. I highly recoomend you run away from them. They add extra costs that are not made clear to you. I was quoted $300 for $75 an hour, 4 hour minimum. I was all packed, moving out small one bedroom that took them 3 1/2 to complete the move and they tried to charge me $550. I was able to remove a $68 dollar fee that is for 10 or more stairs, when I only had 4. Way over priced for such a quick and easy move. read more

They are professional, reliable, efficient, and the pricing is very reasonable. The company moved us from L.A. to Orange County. Three movers came in the morning, helped us finish the packing and everything was on the truck by noon, including a grand piano. By 5 pm, everything was off the truck, furniture and appliances all set up. I had packed a lot of crystals, lladro figurines, and glassware. Not a single item was broken. I almost gave 2 stars because the 4 guys worked hard. However, there were so many issues, I couldn't. Where do I start. First, after Tony touted he was going to not charge me double for the time from pickup to destination, about 10 minutes away, he charged me an hour for returning home - not mentioned in advance. Second, they emptied all drawers and put them in boxes without saying they were going to. That way they used more boxes than necessary. More than $400 for packaging materials! Thirdly, after stating they would use wardrobe boxes and not charge for them, they boxed my pants! Later, when I looked in my closets they were not there. Very annoying. Fourth, they only partially hooked up the washer and dryer. The vent hose was missing! I had to go buy another one and hook it up myself. And the gas was not turned on. Finally, after my daughter bought them lunch and provided them with ample water and Gatorade throughout the day, they told me how much they expected to be tipped ($35). Very unprofessional and tacky. I needed to move allot of heavy things from one unit to another ... i was quoted $85 an hour with a 5 hour minimum, which by the end of calling Tony back he gave me $80an hour instead, of what he quoted me and then said i would pay for extras i asked WHAT extras ??? He explained ! so i got my own i have friends too! After getting everything in my new unit the guy in charge thought they were done..... I loved Marvin !!! what a genuinely nice guy and after all i would use there services again !!!! $400.00 was quoted & a good deal to protect my furniture and the final bill was $400.00 they helped us set up the area we designated as a storage unit and 4 hours later i released them and yes they were grabbing waters i put it there for them!!!! MOVING is a tough job and my husband and our friend Jeff couldn't get it done by ourselves so yes again I will call them Antonio, Jose Marvin were great! read more

I used TLC moving to move my one bedroom apt. I initially thought they were reasonable priced when the reservation was setup, but man was I wrong. On moving day before the crew even shows up I get a call and am being forced to hire a 3 man crew instead of the 2 man crew that I wanted, raising my cost by an extra $15/hour that I wasn't anticipating, but at that point I had no choice as it was time to move. Then the crew shows up...tape is extra, shrink wrap is extra, "long walk" is extra between the apt and the truck, oh and stairs are extra even though I asked about that before I scheduled. The additional fees added on another $200 to the bill. I ended up way over budget and ripped off by Paul & Tony. Oh and should I mention that as soon as Tony arrived at 9:05am he tells me that him and the crew expect me to provide lunch and a tip would be expected at the end. Here is a tip TLC, be transparent with your clients. I regret using your company services. read more

This was the worst move we have ever experienced. They promised a 24 foot truck but showed up with a 16 foot rental truck. I being a retired over the road truck driver (over 20 years) told them before they started that I did not think our furniture would fit. I had to use my own pickup truck which we had not planed on. They had to bring another employee with a mini van and there still was not enough room for everything. I had to strap down a one of a kind original painting on top of the mini van with my own straps. They also had to use more of my straps for our bed on the lift gate of the truck. They also charged for extra shrink wrap and also tacked on extra hours. When they took our dinning room table apart they broke a piece off one of the legs claiming it was micky mousely made. This is a very solidly made table and it was brand new we had never used it. Our real gripe was with Tony who came out and estimated the job. He obviously did not pay attention to what we had in the house and garage. The workers worked their butts off to squeeze and I do mean squeeze in what they could. If the right size truck would have been there from the start the move would have went quicker and better. There were charges that no one told us about when we first talked to them. This was the most unprofessional company I have seen in my (over 20 years) experience as a professional truck driver. There are some good reviews i have read maybe you will have better luck that we had. I personally would not recommend this company. read more
