I will never use them again!!! They showed up 45 minuets late. Then wanted to charge me extra because they had to walk across a small street. Then the movers kept telling me it would be a 14 hour job... and I said this should not take 14 hrs because I've done all the boxing , take care of the heavy stuff. Half the work was already done. Then they walked out on the job... said they are not going to move me and left me high and dry. I had to scramble and get another moving company. I was lucky to fine Best Moving Day! They did a pretty good job assembling the furniture.. On the day of they came 30 min earlier then expected! Pretty fast but it pretty pricey..here some advice that will save some cost buy your own supplies before hand.. I also referred a friend name tez! Great Moving ServiceTony was very responsive and wanting to help. He quickly had me moved out of storage within less than 24 hours. His movers by far exceeded expectations of any other movers that I have had in past, and I have had plenty of movers. I was truly amazed with the friendly helpfulness of both of these guys, names Milke and ivan, they worked so hard, long hours and appears everything restored perfectly, they fit everything nicely into smaller space organized well. Tony was helpful and willing to accommodate me in anyway he could, his movers even took my stuff to donation center about 1 block away. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They turned a 5 hour job into NINE hours! I had five pieces of furniture that I wanted taken out to the street - to be picked up by the city as trash. They spent over two hours breaking them down, taking them apart. Each one was small enough to fit through my front door or out through the patio. No reason to break them down. They scratched my refrigerator. They put the handles of my refrigerator on backwards, with the screws facing out. I'm going to have to call them to fix it. Most of my things I packed myself. There were a few things I needed them to pack in the kitchen. They didn't. They were rude. When I called Tony to complain about them taking so long, the lead mover, Joseph tried to guilt trip me and then weirdly threatened me by saying God was watching me. They didn't listen or had to be told multiple times. They put ALL of my boxes in the dining room. In a word, it was exhausting. Worst. Move. Ever. read more

I had a very painless moving process with this company. The two guys that helped me move were very friendly and efficient. They showed-up on time and were communicative. I am giving four stars instead of five because of some of the additional fees that were charged on top of my quote and added an additional $128. These fees included: Tape-$5/roll Stairs- $63 Shrink wrap- $45/roll I believe these fees should be disclosed during the quote phase rather than the morning of the move when the paperwork is completed. Transparency is price is always appreciated so that customers can budget accordingly and have enough cash on hand to pay and tip the workers. read more

Make sure you canvass around before hiring this company coz I know there is a lot more movers out there that can give you better rates without having to charge for "double drive time" and breaks! The service was good and I appreciate the help of the 2 men who were so chill except For the Hispanic guy who kept rambling about his injury from the previous day where he was injured and was complaining that he does not want to be rushed! I don't think anyone who is moving would like to take their time especially when the customer is being charged by the hour! The 2 guys were great and very nice but the owner Tony Hayek will charge you an arm and a leg for EVERYTHING even used wardrobe boxes were $8@ - take note it's used and falling apart! Buy your own tape coz they charge you $5@ even when I said I had more than enough tapes they still used theirs and charged me for it, and their plastic wraps $45@ roll! Buy your own supplies and insist that they use your own supplies and not theirs coz they will charge you for everything!!!! I had a pleasant experience with the 2 workers but not the owner Tony, too shady! We did the packing ourselves to save money and had just asked them to load the furnitures and boxes. Initial estimate was 8 hours. We finished packing and loading at 430pm, and they wanted to pre-authorize my card already got 11 hours when we were not even done yet and said that they will refund it if it was less. It's not as if I had a choice since all our stuff was already loaded up and ready to go!!! The Initial estimate for 8 hours for a 2 bedroom apartment started at noon and ended at 830pm and he was still charging me for 11 hours because of double drive time! So much for pre-authorizing and refunding if we finished early! Either way he was still charging for 11 hours !!!! Grade to give TLC Moving Service= "E"...for "E"xcellent, for "E"fficient! I was setup w/ another mover but had technical issue 2 days before the move, so need to cancel. I was in panic looking for mover day-1. I called TLC & Mr Paul is very friendly & assuring. Even w/ time constraint & no flexibility in move date, he confirmed I got the 3 men & a truck. Next day, Mr Tony called to advise movers are coming. They were 1-hr early w/c is great! Truck was huge, 26 footer!!! I could make a house of it lol Walter, Antonio, Malek (I hope i got his name spelling right) were good people. Walter explained & have docs ready, while 2 guys are already starting. "E"fficient. It took wrapping & loading, 6mile drive, & unloading, unwrapping, putting things in place 7hrs altogether. As I watch them (&helping a bit too :)) Im amazed how they move & carry & organized everything. They are pro! Walter communicates to me every step of the way so I know & understand what's going on & about to happen, & if there's any charge/cost. I appreciate it very much! In this service, "communication" is important so there's no misunderstandings when ending bill arrived :) The free of charge closet boxes are cool :) Antonio is funny :) love his sense of humor :) I learned a thing or two from him in art of packing :) Bill ended up higher than i budgeted, but hey, it's an "E"xcellent quality service. Believe me, I know quality...i work in QA industry :) My neighbors were astounded w/ the moving service I got, & they were already inquiring. This has to be the worst move ever, the truck was to be at my door at 8am, I get a text at 630am stating the crew will be there at 930am. They got to the location about 9am and came in and start pad wrapping and double wrapping and stretch wrapping and taping my furniture as if I was moving cross country, I was moving 6 blocks down the street. I told the guys all I need is a simple blanket wrap move, they totality ignored me and continued to over pad my furniture. Because it was a by the hour job, they seen I was moving from one beach front condo to another, they went in to "slow down mode". They broke a large flower pot as well as one of the latch's that connect the two piece couch together. I a job that should have taking about 4 - 5 hours took over 8 hours to complete. One of the guys kept asking if I was celebrity or if played sports, led me to believe they were trying to see how much they could make from what was a very simple move. read more

They total costs was outrageous! First of all I was sent two 60 year old men, who were at odds with each other from the jump. I headed to my car to take a few items, one of the men volunteered to help me, and the other guy had a fit. He told him to let me take the stuff by myself, the he was there help him. ): My two room apartment was completely packed up and ready to go, immediately they started complaining about it being a three man job and the distance from the apartment to their truck, mind you the there was an elevator in the building. A job that should have taken no more than 4 hours, took 10 hours. They called for another man, two hours into the job, they older men were completely done by then. When the young guy arrived they were so relieved, and they had the nerve to take a break. I was livid, but I felt stuck between a rock and a hard place. DONOT USE THIS COMPANY, THEY ARE A RIP-OFF. What an awesome experience. I recently located to Sac from Arizona, stored 99% of my life in a storage unit, lived in a not so great Airbnb and couldn't wait to get into my own place. Ray and his coworker were phenomenal. They were kind, professional and seriously ate their wheaties! I had a 5x8 trailer worth of things that was packed into their truck in 15 minutes and after arriving to my upstairs apartment, the truck and my pre-packed jeep were unpack in less than 30 minutes. TLC = Tony's Lousy Care! Do not use this moving service. They are very inexpensive, but most of the crew are not worth the bother. I had 2 trucks and 6 guys. No one listened to the lead guy and gave him lots of grief by arguing with him. One guy, should have never been in the business of moving...he looked into every box and for no apparent reason. The others hated him and made themselves very clear about their feelings. He broke several of my items and never got a clue why no one wanted him in their group. One of the other guys wanted me to tell Tony that he went into my purse...well, if you know me, that's a huge lie. First, I don't carry a purse and I never saw him do that. His work was so awful, that my reporting about his incapabilities should have had enough merit so that a lie did not need to be fabricated. There were 3 people to assist with the direction of where items needed to go...one truck for storage, and the other for our home. They couldn't get that correct either, not with names, locations, or blue tape on the boxes to assist with the process. When important home items landed in the storage, Tony was reluctant to make corrections and at a reasonable timeline. When I tried to summarize my issues, he'd shut me down with..."I don't want to hear this for the fourth time." He did make one correction, when my TV's sound bar, in a sealed, new box, couldn't be found as it wound up in the storage room, he gave me two guys to dig it up for me at no charge. But that was all they were going to correct, according to Tony in our conversation, and NO more...as he said with major attitude! But when the guys arrived, more attitude, they did assist me with collecting other items that were moved to storage erroneously, like major artwork and items. All this was at the cost of over $2400!!! Yeah, not at all the quote or estimate that was given to me earlier by the foreman. So...save your sanity, spend a little more money, and keep all your wares safe and in one piece by not using this company! Seriously, this is a huge headache, and maybe enough to take them to small claims for the broken items and the time wasted with the crew arguing, defying the supervisor, and someone that just is still employed; which questions the owner's ability to HR good people. Run as far as you can and away from this company!!!! We have used tony in the past and he claims to be so professional but comes nowhere close to it!!! He gave me an estimate and told me plus extra costs for material. No where along the move did he have the decency to pick up the phone and tell me what my costs have accumulated to. He told me at the end it's an additional 800 to what I had already agreed on . He then started to insult me!!!! After doing business with him in the past, this was the last time I would ever consider to work with him!! There are so many honest companies out there and tlc is not one!!!! If a moving company stops the move and threatens to walk out which he did, then you know for a fact what kind of person he is!!! I can't believe I can't give these people a 0 (zero). I moved on March 31st no thanks to these movers. Booked and reserved a week in advance. Spoke directly with Paul (the owner). I was so happy because their prices were so good. The day before, I heard from Paul to confirm the move the next morning. I work evening shift at a hospital and was on my way into work. So I'm glad he called before I clocked in for the evening. So on the way in, I receive a call from a 818 number. Since I researched moving companies, I received many calls from random movers. Almost being harassed by them. So when I receive a call from a number I don't know, I ignored it. The same number called 2 more times after I clocked into work. When that phone rang for a 3rd time, during my shift, I picked up very mad and frustrated. I asked why they are calling me back to back and not leaving a voice mail. I told them I'm at work and to not call me back. The person on the phone told me they were calling to confirm the move for tomorrow. I said that I've already confirmed with another moving company and that I didn't need these callers/movers to come. They go on to tell me that I'm down for a move with their company. I'm new to the area (only lived here for one year) and I'm at work.... not sure who I was taking to especially since I already confirmed with Paul. I hung up the phone since it was a very busy moment at the hospital. The guy called back...... again. He said he just wanted to confirm with me that I was canceling. I said sure just stop calling me. I decided to check my email to make sure I didn't confirm with another company. Then it hit me. I was in fact scheduled with this company. I was so all over the place so I call right back. Literally it was only 2 minutes between the time I hung up with them and called them back. The guy then told me that they already booked another move! You booked another move in 2 minutes, I asked... they told me yes. I said I already confirmed with Paul, why would you call and harass someone while they were at work? He said he needed to confirm even though I already did with the OWNER. So it's 6:00pm the night before my move and now I don't have a mover because of the inconsiderate worker. I email Paul telling him what had happened, no response. I call the number from the email, the same guy answers. Then I double check the email, of course that was a generic email! Which means the rude guy that answered the phone probably deleted the email. So, I find another moving company last minute (at 6:30pm the night before the move that started at 8am the next morning. Thanks "My American Movers"! ). After all that, Paul didn't even call back to see what had happened. He has my number. He confirmed with me on the phone. Why would he not wonder why I ended up canceling after we talked? All around bad customer service. I have no tolerance for bad service. I worked many years in retail, tech support and customer relations.... this is unheard of! These movers will email saying they are ranked with an A+ with BBB, well, I'm sure that will change once I make my next call. Jacked Up. read more

No Love Lost for T.L.C. Moving Services I needed to move a great deal of machinery, wood, metal and furniture to the Central Coast. Contacted three movers. TLC sent out an estimator whereas the others quoted over the phone. I felt confident that the estimator had seen the job. I was completely forthright with all the "stuff" needing to be packed and moved. Received a flat fee rate, set the date, confirmed that the truck would accommodate such an odd load. Good to Go! Moving day arrived, and the lead mover says to the estimator, " no way will it all fit in this truck." The estimator, Tony, wants to charge me for another truck and driver because of his error--truck too small. Forget these folks. They are unethical and don't stand behind their estimates. I'm not one to write reviews but I was COMPELLED to after the horrible job TLC did for my mother-in-law! All the other bad reviews are consistent w/ my experience with them, like the unprofessionalism, unreliable, amateurs, liars, gougers etc. I saw with my own eyes, one if the movers accidentally scratch a bedroom end table, and denied it! DENIED IT!! While they were lifting a desk up the stairway, a corner hit the ceiling and made a BIG HOLE. That's not all! Because they didn't properly arrange the furniture in the van, the frame of our expensive massage bed broke! It's your movers nightmare! One thing after another! They tried to blame the furniture for their own fault, saying it wasn't well made, yada yada. My mother-in-law moved from OC and lives in a million dollar home, in a gated community near the beach. I assure you, none of her furniture is from Ikea or cheaply made! To top it off, they went way over the estimated time and they tried to tack on extra expenses to raise the price. Ridiculous things like supposedly using extra plastic wrap (like seran wrap) during the move, they charged her extra for. I couldn't believe it! The end price went way over the initial quote. The movers all looked miserable during their job. I don't speak Spanish but I do know they were cursing A LOT during the entire move! I don't want to hear that! It was SO stressful!! You hire a moving company to take away your stress, right?!!!! It was the total opposite! I had to keep a close eye on them b/c I had NO confidence in them and what they would do next. I want to be fair to include everything... They did come back and fix the baseball size whole in the ceiling and they fixed the frame of the massage bed. Gougers I tell you. Pros: Showed up on time. Cons: -They dragged my king size mattress on the ground scraping up the side. -Reassembled my bed frame leaving out extra screws and not even correctly reassembling it leaving me unable to use my drawers from my bed frame. - Charged me an extra 2 hours of work when they took an hour lunch break and said they were in traffic. FYI, my husband and I left after them and we caught up to them and passed them on the freeway. We were about 15 minutes away from our new place and they were gone for over an hour. When I called them they just said they were on the way. -Bad attitude: the main guy who spoke english was not only slow at moving but he was rude and did not take any care when moving my couch. My husband asked him how long is the move going to take while they were moving becausehe had to go back to work and didn't want to leave me with the movers by myself and my 1 yr old boy. He irritatingly said "we are moving as fast as we can but if you don't want us to move we can stop." Like seriously???? Be warned! They do not care if they mess up your belongings. They only care about the money. We started the move at 9am and finished around 4:30ish. I was charged 10 hrs, flight charge for being on the 2nd level, and 2 rolls of shrink wrap. They were using 2 shrink wrap rolls but none of the rolls were even finished. And! when I was given the invoice, "TIPS ALWAYS APPRECIATED" was written on it. Who does that? read more

Tony seemed nice and accommodating over the phone when booking. However the crew sent was older, slow moving, and couldn't lift many of the items which I expressed when booking we were only moving large items. My boyfriend had to physically take apart all of the furniture and move it to the truck to save time. We only moved a few large items and moved the smaller things in our own cars. We had to have them stop and take what was loaded to avoid going over longer. When they dropped the furniture off they just dropped it off and we didn't have them put it together. It shouldn't take more than the quoted 4 hours to take apart 2 beds, a dining room table, a dresser and 2 mounted TVs and put them back together. We were charged for 5 hrs and didn't get half of what we asked for because we didn't want to pay for 6 hrs when we were quoted for 4. We should have just rented a uhaul and saved ourselves the aggravation and money. I definitely do not recommend them. read more

They worked from 9-4. and got everything in and out without any problems! I'm still stunned how Adam and Dylan got my giant sofa into my new place through the front door! In the past 5 years, we have move from Denver to Miami back to Denver and then from Denver to Woodland Hills - then once within Woodland Hills, this last time using T.L.C. Their name is not a slogan. It is accurate. We think we know a little something about the moving biz. No other moving company we've hired has taken such expert care of our items, from wrapping to carrying to packing in the truck to the offload. We were thoroughly impressed with the speed and gentleness with which Dean and Antonio wrapped and carted out the stuff in a four bedroom-house. They were professional and easy to work with. They made what is usually a stressful experience actually somewhat fun. They made us laugh. They delivered everything fully intact. Can't say how impressed we are. T.L.C. should be your very first call when you are moving. Every moving company should aspire to be this good. read more

The movers were good and quick but my reasoning for the 2 stars is because of the extra fees and being overcharged. I signed up for $85/hr, figuring my 1 bedroom apartment would take at most, 3 hours, but they charged me for their breaks (which included drinking beers) as well as the apartment to the truck more than 70 ft fee ($125) which shouldn't have applied since my apartment was right next to the elevator and I wasn't told about this on the phone when I asked about fees. They charged me for 5 hours (after "rounding up") and then proceeded to guilt me for the tip I gave. The tip ended up costing me another $80 and they still said I was being cheap. "Come on, we put in a long day, etc. etc." I have never been guilted so hard. While the work done was great, I definitely feel scammed and taken advantage of. Will not be using again. read more
