This place gave me someone else's towels, lost mine and made no attempt at compensation. The owner Tony even hung up on me when I called about it. So rude and zero customer service. Got the job done right and on time. Thats what I am looking for in a good cleaner. I brought two coats here that had months of wear since their last wash. Needless to say, they were gross from the smell, especially because I was around a fire all weekend prior. They were able to remove all of that nasty smelling smoke and return my jackets good as new. My pants were completely ruined after bringing my laundry here. They spilled bleach down the back of the leg! I also brought two shirts to them with a makeup stain on one and an oil stain on the other. They did absolutely nothing to remove the stains, and to top it all off I received several "surprise" extra laundry items which were not mine. Unfortunately, I will never be back. UPDATE: You can see that the owner replied below. They charged me $7 instead of $21 (they certainly were not okay with me "paying nothing"). More unsettling, I am 100% positive they ruined the pants, for which they still refuse to take responsibility, much less apologize. Like hell I'd trust them again (much less pay them!) to try to undo a problem they created! Shame on them for lying. The right thing to do would be a complete refund and as much money as it would take to replace the destroyed clothing. read more

I very rarely write reviews, but I really feel obligated to for these guys. They are always friendly, professional, transparent, and willing to put the customer first. Never any issues with the clothes. I'm the first to acknowledge I'm not an easy customer when it comes to laundry / dry cleaning, but they have never complained. If I have any special requests - rewash a shirt, honor an expired coupon, etc. they have always agreed without any hesitation. Most recently, I had forgotten to ask them to fix a loose button on my suit jacket which was being dry cleaned. I was kicking myself. I just got it back - they noticed it and fixed it free of charge. Their prices are more than reasonable, and if you tie in the fact that they provide such stellar service, it's an absolute bargain. I've tried at least 8 other cleaners in Manhattan and these guys are a cut above everyone. read more

I only have used their wash & fold service for underwear and basic garments (tees and a few inexpensive button downs). They do a great job and are priced better than other laundry services nearby. The owners are also very friendly which makes me enjoy using their service more. I also like how they are open at 7am on weekdays so I can pick up my Laundry in the morning because im rarely able to pick it up in the evening. I definitely recommend using the wash & fold service. read more

I still love these folks. They're accommodating, do good work, and make living without a doorman a lot easier. I see some negative reviews have popped up. Look: TLKK isn't perfect, but point me to a dry cleaner that has never made a mistake. Can you really expect them to hand-inspect every inch of every item before handing it back to you? In my experience they've addressed issues fairly when I've brought their attention to them -- including once when a large number of items were damaged in a fire at the cleaner to which they outsource their jobs. And I've very rarely had any issues with their work. Also, you should think about the consequences for a business when you put in a one-star review. It's valuable to share terrible experiences with other Yelpers. But you want to damage TLKK's livelihood based on a single experience with a stain on your pants? Yeesh. read more

Do not go here! They didn't return three of my sweaters. All the same brand, all the same material, which makes me think they are purposely stealing them. I've called three times and each time they tell me to call back in a few days. Same story each time. I believe they are just putting me off. I've also received items back that weren't mine. They are very friendly and prompt, but the clothes were not cleaned well at all (wash and fold service). Even soiling on the surface was not removed. One minute soaking in detergent removed most of the dirt that came back with my clothes. Total waste of money. read more

Before I start my review, I just want to caveat that I almost never write reviews unless the place has greatly exceeded my expectations, or the experience is so atrocious that I feel a civic duty to warn all others from making the same mistake. Unfortunately, this time, it is the latter. I had been staying at my friends place (ahem, couch) for a month and a half while I was in between apartments, and I left my dry cleaning at this place since it was the closest around. The very last time I dropped off my shirts for dry cleaning, I received them with 2 of my shirts ripped - one at the forearm and one at the wrist right where the forearm meets the cuff. (FYI - these were Charles Tyrwhitt shirts; not high end but not necessarily cheap off the rack, either) Now mind you - I know shirts rip after wear and tear but these rips were gigantic, and so systematically torn that they were ripped and straight that these were done by a machine. Additionally, the rips were at awkward parts of the shirt; most shirts rip at the elbows - these were at the wrist and forearm. To top it off, they left a notice on my shirt that stated: "repairs recommended", instead of taking ownership over the wear and tear. From the owner's perspective, it's easy to refuse ownership and make this suggestion. After all, this is NYC and one of the most densely populated neighborhoods - what is one unsatisfied customer? Well I say a similar thing to you my friends - there are tens (if not, hundreds) of laundry and dry cleaning places in the area. Once you find one that seems like they won't mess up, I highly suggest you stick with it. This place is not it. Look somewhere else and do not make the same mistake I did. read more
