PLUS 10 MORE STARS FOR TMZ PLUMBING!!! I would like to keep this short, but I can't. You have to fully understand what nearly happened to us. I will start by saying that the plumber who works for a large plumbing company (a very large one I might add, which I'm sure just about everyone knows) was very nice. However, what he quoted me was beyond outrageous! He quoted me $12,900, plus a possible additional $1,400 If they couldn't reach the pipe that had dropped and broken just outside the front of our home and had to remove and install new longer PVC piping from behind our basement interior wall. He also told us they would have to remove a section of our concrete porch and dig down around six feet to get to the broken pipe, as well as remove a number of our trees and bushes. Lastly, he said WE would be responsible for repairing the concrete porch which is roughly 2 ft thick and the section they would have to remove was roughly 4-5 ft wide. In a nutshell, we would have been out of possibly $20,000 by the time this job was over, which I later found out would have probably cost $30,000 if I would have let them perform the service. I invited Todd from TMZ Plumbing to come out and provide an estimate after the other company left. After explaining to him our situation and what the previous plumber had said, he moved forward and conducted his own inspection. When he was done he told me the total job would cost around $5,500. I was like what the F***! I thought I misheard him. He said, "he didn't have to break up the concrete porch." In fact, he didn't have to touch the porch at all. He said, "he's tackled this type of problem before and that it wouldn't be a problem getting the job done." He also didn't have to remove or add any additional PVC piping from behind the interior wall like the other plumbing company had suggested. TMZ provided me the quote in writing, I hired them and they were on the job at 8am sharp. They worked most of the day. Left everything open for the inspector to review and got a passing grade the next day. They closed everything up and we were back to normal. IN CASE YOU WERE WONDERING WHAT THE MAIN PROBLEM WAS: We had to live in a hotel for 2 days because whenever we would turn on an sink or any shower or flush any toilet all of the water would flow to only one toilet on the main floor and spill over all over the floor, so we had to move into a hotel. How could there have been almost $15,000 difference between this one large plumbing co. and TMZ Plumbing. Todd from TMZ Plumbing was clearly smarter. He took his time assessing the situation and he and his team did a great job. They only had to remove one bush in front of our house, not multiple like the other company said. I mentioned that the job could have possibly cost $30,000 if I would have let the other company do the job. Let me explain how. When TMZ Plumbing started digging through the dirt to reach the pipe they discovered that the pipe was just barely sticking past the concrete. HERE'S THE SURPRISE!!! They had to dig about 8 ft down and the concrete was literally the full height which was roughly 8 ft tall + the additional 2 ft of concrete porch that we already had. If I would have let the large plumbing company who's been around for decades perform this job they would have broke up my concrete porch for no reason at all, then had to dig through an additional 8 ft of concrete which they didn't know about to get to the pipe. I'm quite sure they would have charged me more to go through 8 ft when originally thought it was only 2 ft of concrete. Plus we would have had to pay for the rebuild. We originally had in our minds that we would have had to pay for an additional 2 ft of concrete to repair the porch not an additional 8ft. We would have had to pay to refill 10 ft of concrete because of TOTAL INCOMPETENCE!!! I was just surprised that a company as large as them and have been around for decades could provide a potential customer a quoted price that was outrageous and for work I didn't need, as well as damage to my property. They should be embarrassed. I literally could have possibly been out of more than $30,000 if I would have let them break ground on my porch. Thank goodness for TMZ Plumbing. They have a customer for life. If you choose another company to do the job, then it's your loss. Contact Todd if you want the job done right and not be scammed by all the others. I forgot to mention that TMZ Plumbing installed roughed in plumbing in my basement about 10 years ago. I had totally forgot until my wife, as well as one of his workers mentioned working in our house before. Also, I must mention we had 2 smaller plumbing companies provide quotes and they both wanted to break up our concrete porch also. They weren't as high as the larger plumbing company, but they were darn close and if either one of those companies would have tore up our porch we would have ended up paying much more that what they all quoted. I called today because we had a leak under our bathroom sink so I called TMZ Plumbing and Charlie came out the same day to take a look and had it fixed in no time. We had additional questions with some pipes in our basement and he readily fixed that as well. I also had not anticipated asking him about the shower in the master bath but he was happy to look at it for me as the water pressure was quite low and the shower handles were loose. Charlie assessed the problem and came up with a solution and will fix that as well. Charlie and TMZ Plumbing is THE BEST!! We have used them for years and will always use them for our plumbing needs. Wow, I had the misfortune of being on the highway at the same time as this guy. He cut me off while coming inches from hitting me. When I honked to let him know that he almost hit me, I somehow was the bad guy that did something wrong, and HE flipped ME off. Then he moved over, and when I went past him, but then he got right behind me and tailgated me for miles. I have the whole thing on video. What a jerk. And to think he wasn't even ashamed to drive this way in the company van...with the name and phone number clearly written on the van! How unprofessional is that!? Charlie and his helper were prompt and professional. Charle correctly diagnosed the problem in my toilet. It was a cracked bowl. They returned at the appointed time, and replaced the toilet with ease. They were respectful of my home, and wore booties over their shoes. They were careful not to damage anythIng where they were working. Charlie even cleaned around the old toilet before replacing it. He also saw some cracked trim in my shower and sealed it with silicone. TMZ is my go to plumber. Everyone who has come into my house has been friendly and professional. read more

Great company, owner, responsiveness and prices. Kitchen sink was not flowing. Both sides backed up. Disgusting. Todd the owner himself arrived within an hour or so to tackle what seemed to be a relatively routine project. Wound up rodding through 5 times to break up whatever ungodly blockage and sludge was in there from the past 20 years. Chatted with him a few times, he explained some things, shared some ideas, etc.. super nice guy. Price was great too considering he was here an hour longer than he anticipated. We had another plumbing company scheduled to replace our water heater 5 days in advance. on the day of the scheduled appointment, i called them as the 2 hour window of arrival was ending. they told me sorry, but we have had too many emergency calls so the earliest we can get back out to you is in 5 more days! i called TMZ and they were here within a couple of hours and the job is done. We had a leak in our kitchen sink that was starting to leak to the downstairs on our brand new basement floor! We called TMZ Plumbing this morning and they were here this afternoon and fixed the problem, They replaced the garbage disposal and what we thought was a bad pipe turned out to be a gasket (less money). George S. 09-29-2016 We called TMZ Plumbing out to our house because we discovered that the water to our townhouse did not shut off. Todd and Tony came out and were able to shut the water off to our townhome from the buffalo box outside. Todd was absolutely great! After the string of sub-zero temperatures, a pipe in our laundry room froze and cracked. We had a major mess on our hands - and no water anywhere in the house. We had very hard to find gas leak around our basement area. Nicor located them and immediately shut our gas down. TMZ Charlie responded right away and gave us estimate and we hired them. He located the hard to find leak area behind the gas range, under the floor. Replacing of those pipes was not easy, required cutting the floor area carefully while he did it alone.
