Absolutely Awful company - which is a shame because they used to be good. We hired them to do a pre-home-purchase chimney inspection and they guaranteed to provide an inspection report within 24 hours (since that's how home inspections are supposed to work, so you have time to make decisions and work with the seller about your purchase). It took them over a week to get us an inspection, despite us reaching out multiple times asking for it. We did not get their inspection report until after we had to close on the home, so it was useless. Also their inspection report said our chimney and fireplace were dangerous and unusable, and wouldn't be safe unless we did over $25,000 dollars worth of repairs and replacements in our chimney, which was absolutely stupid. We had a second company (Chimney Sweeps West) come out to do a second opinion, and he was amazed at how good of shape our chimney was in, got it working for us (gas log), and showed us a few pointers on how to make it work even better! He said the chimney didn't need any work at all, other than a bit of a cleaning. A fantastic guy. We asked for our $345 inspection fee back, since they did not fulfill their promise. They refused to return it, so I had to file a credit card dispute against them instead. Don't ever hire these people, they are scam artists. read more

I wish I would have read the reviews before I booked appointment with this company. The provider came to our home, did the inspection, showed us photos and collected 399.00. I was told we would hear back with an estimate. The 399.00 was to be credited towards future work. I have called several times with no response. I will count the 399.00 as a loss because I would not trust this company to follow through. read more

I had this company come out to my house on 4/15 for an estimate to replace the fireplace insert and do stonework. I was told I would get an estimate the next day- it has been over a week and I have not received anything!. I called and spoke to the office they assured me an estimate would be coming that evening... I got nothing, I even spoke to Jacob the guy who came out and he told me "I will send it to you tonight"- that was days ago!. I have never in my life had to chase an estimate. We had this company install a wood stove into our existing chimney. Come to find out, the material they used is not the required fireproof materials or the material we paid for. We have had two certified and licensed companies complete inspections with pictures and reports proving the incorrect work and that our stove and chimney is deemed a fire hazard and we cannot use. This job cost us over $6000 and the company has ghosted us after making several attempts and requests for them to fix their past job. Darwin promised us the owner would call us twice and we have not received a call back from Josh Cates. Hopefully the company sees this review and gets in touch with us to make it right. Our lawyers have told us next steps and the local news will also assist in advocating for us and other customers who have been ghosted. read more

Would be zero but can't go that low. Called about gas fireplace that would not stay lit. They came out and swept the cobwebs out from underneath. Then stared at the fireplace and their phone for 30 minutes. Then went out to their truck for an hour. Came back in and said they had to order a part (thermopile which is a fairly standard part). Charged over $300 and left. Never got any update for 2 weeks. Called them 5 times and got different person each time. One said he was office manager. Said they would check on the part and call me back every time I called. Never ever called back. Been over 2 months now. Guess I will need to take them to small claims court. read more

If you buy a fireplace insert from them good luck. I bought one and it is obviously a defective unit and they refuse to fix or replace it. I have called and emailed them repeatedly and nothing has been done to fix my insert. I got the Osburn 2700 Matrix. They installed a chimney liner and failed to properly trim it at the top of my chimney. That probably caused too much heat to build up inside the insert which caused the problem. I wish I had my old insert back because it easily heated my entire house. I paid a little over $10,000. For this unit and they are ignoring my complaints. read more

Have not been able to get them to come back out. They have put us on the schedule twice and then are no shows. Damaged roofing shingles with concrete, which had to be replaced. The sales rep seemed knowledgeable and helpful. Quick to answer all my questions however install has been nothing short of a nightmare. The sales rep is no longer there. The job still isn't finished 5 months later and I have a crooked chimney after they came out and "fixed" it twice. They continue to tell me nothing is wrong with it. When the service guys came out to finish the install they said they didn't know anything about finishing the install and the parts we had (which they had provided) they insisted were not correct. I have been trying to get my chimney fixed and fireplace finished with multiple phone calls. I filed a case with the BBB which they didn't respond to. I heard TN fireplace in chimney LLC for chimney cleaning and inspections for two chimneys for my rental property in Sevierville Tennessee. And I inform them I would not be at the property when he came out to do the work. Because I had to work at my job I was trusting them that I will get what I paid for. The was done work at Bluff Mountain Sevierville Tennessee how I found them I Googled them they had a nice fancy website so I thought they was a good company so I called them told them I had two chimneys that needed cleaned and a report done due to the new fire code requirements for a rental property and they quoted me $240 for each chimney that's cleaning and the video inspection and a fire safety report a total of $480 over the phone I agreed. And I knew I needed some repairs done also supposed to have a quote that too. We set up a date for them to come out to do the chimney cleaning and inspection 4/1/2024 and they did come out that day and supposed to do the work. For the entire week the first through the April 5th I called everyday to try to find out what was going on the guy would answer the phone said he will get back with me and never did. And then April 5th late evening they called me wanted payment but I was extremely frustrated with them cuz I wasn't even for sure if they even done the work they were agreed on the way they're acting and not answering their phones told them I wanted to talk with the technician that came out to find out what was going on with my chimney because I knew I needed some repairs done. He said the technician will call me and he did call Monday April the 8th and wanted payment and that he will discuss what all he did and send me the report and photos and the quote for the repairs after I pay him. I didn't quite like that only if I pay for him to send me the quote. He's told me as soon as I pay him he'll send me everything that I need . But I did agree because I needed the chimney inspection report for the fire marshal for Sevierville Tennessee. As soon as I paid him he said he's going to send it to me but I never did hear anything back so I started calling and texting calling and texting calling and texting where is my reports and my quote finally several hours later he only sends me one report for one chimney. Then I emailed him back and said I need the other report for the other chimney that I paid for so I started calling and texting calling and texting again for my second report and proof that he claimed it with photos. Never heard back from him again I called the office will not answer the phone only one time I got them the answer the phone when I switch to a different phone number and someone answered told me the same crap someone's going to get back with me but never did I would like to have my report and proof that they cleaned it or my money back. The way I look at it this is same as theft people should go to jail for this. read more

Wow what a professional company! I thought I was professional and give great service but they TOTALLY outclass me in that department. They were honest about how many weeks out my appointment would have to be, they set the appointment and were upfront as to what the cost could be, they emailed and texted several days before the appointment as a reminder, they called the day before to verbally confirm the appointment, and then they texted when the service person was en route to my house! They wore a mask when I requested it and kept socially distant, and did not touch things other than what they needed to do their job. They even laid down a blanket to protect my hearth and flooring. The techs were friendly and knowledgeable, and instructed me on exactly what to do to start my fireplace in the future, then watched me do it myself. They provided a minimal touch method of paying, and the bill was a lot less than I was quoted. Outstanding experience, I wish every company were as professional as this one. read more

I requested a chimney cleaning and inspection. They performed both and I feel they they did a good job. They gave a very professional report that explained the issues with the fireplace. I would use them again. Price of the inspection and cleaning was ~$325. I wouldn't call it a deal but I can't do what they did for any cheaper. I would use them again. read more

Find a different company and DO NOT use this one. We reached out and initiated work in October of 2020. It's February 2021 and we STILL don't have a copy of the inspection report that they conducted in December 2020 AFTER installing a brand new chimney cap in November of 2020. Who installs a chimney cap without an inspection first?! We were led to believe an inspection was happening during the installation and were later informed that it was actually an 'assessment' we had done. So they tried to make amends by scheduling an inspection 'on the house' bc of the misunderstanding. Which was very nice and we were all for it. They came out in early December 2020 for the inspection and I was told they would send over photos, the inspection report and an estimate of work that needed to be done. You can imagine what comes next. Absolutely nothing. We have tried calling, left VM for the owner, we have spoken to several different people in the office. It is very clear that they are actually ignoring us, at this point. So we have an expensive chimney cap on our NON-WORKING chimney, and no access to an inspection report to tell us what's going on. I was extremely impressed by our fireplace inspection. We had recently bought the house and wanted to have the gas fireplace inspected before using it (it was installed in 1996). I was surprised to find that the man doing our inspection was actually the owner of the company, Josh Cate. He was extremely knowledgeable and took the time to kindly walk me through how our gas fireplace works. He checked the safety of everything from the gas lines, to the chimney itself (even though we have a ventless system). He got on the roof and checked everything out up top and then showed us pictures of what he found. He provided future repair recommendations in an honest way (3-6 years down the road if we are interested in maintaining the current use), and never tried to sell his products or push unneeded costly repairs. He seemed to really know his stuff and mentioned how highly he prioritizes continuing education in his company. I was a little hesitant when I made the appointment with a $230 price tag, but it was well worth the money for the peace of mind. This is the kind of local company that deserves and award and your business. I will go to them for all future needs! read more
