We were driving by and noticed this spot, and since they serve traditional Korean-style pork, we decided to give it a try. Even the side dishes were incredibly fresh and flavorful. The meat was tender, juicy, and paired perfectly with the banchan -- it felt like something I would eat back in Korea. Everything tasted authentic, well-seasoned, and honestly way better than I expected for a random stop. If you're craving real Korean flavors, this place is definitely worth trying. I'll be back for sure!

Attention! This is your Korean grandma owned restaurant! Do not expect the fancy services you receive at the social media famous bbq spots in ktwon! She won't cook the meat for you, but you wouldn't mind it over the juicy pork bellies along with the heaping portions of the kimchi that you grill on the stove too! Ofcourse the Grandma's house tasting side dishes (tofu and the mook) can be replenished! Over all the food will not disappoint!

This place is like a secret garden of Korean pork belly BBQ place. You probably never heard of it, and it's not easy to find. However, this place has been the same place for over 20 years, and people still eat pork belly and "gochujang jjigae." Service got better since the owners son started to run the business.

The kind of place you eat at and then think about 4-5x throughout the next day. I can't wait to go back. Insane food.

Samgyupsal with best sour kimchi, sour green onion kimchi and marinated bean sprout....near perfect in K-town that I 've ever tasted. A little cozy inside restaurant but not too crowded during the weekdays around 6-8PM. Bibimmyun with meat is a best fit.

This place is the hidden gem of ktown. So good! Pork belly & brisket was fire. Best kbbq ive had in a while. If youre looking to get korean bbq, come here.

If you're not into the glitz and glamour but purely appreciate food for what it is, you'll be in agreement with me on this. The perfect example of a mom-and-pop, hole-in-the-wall, anything-you-want-to-name-it, it's all of it! To cut straight to the point: the interior is outdated, your spidey sense might alert that you're entering a slaughterhouse, less than 10 tables, and did I already mention that the interior is outdated? You're greeted by an elderly Korean lady that's not the friendliest but knows she's a baddie because the food says so. Her sidekick is the disguise behind the kitchen that's even more of a bad ass because she's older and just really doesn't give a f***. The only meat that should be cooked on a Korean traditional cauldron lid shape grill is pork belly. Don't come at me. Although it wasn't the best pork belly I've had, the side dishes and the soybean paste soup was. They serve marinated bean sprouts and spring green onion kimchi to grill alongside the meat .. and for all my Koreans out there, you know this means business. Our whole meal came hand in hand and it didn't feel any different than eating at home or with your in-laws (only the good aspect of it). TIP: spacious parking lot with no valet I hear their kimchi stew is to die for but considering the size and cost, it's probably best for a group of 3 or more

Toad the wet sprocket is what comes to mind when I see the name Toad. Then again, I drove right past this place because I was looking for the name Toad. Thanks to Soy Y., this place is awesome. Outdoor seating but my clothes still smell like KBBQ. The bacon is awesome. First time I've had this that actually tastes like it was marinated. After all the places I've been to. Imagine that. I usually don't eat fatty meats either but I did this evening we were there. The kim chee is good like Soy said and everything is good. I actually ate some spicy but the last dish just about kicked my ass. Let's come back here again.

We asked for extra BBQ sauce and that didn't arrive for another 15 mins. We had to wave down another employee to try to get the sauce to us. I wouldn't recommend this place! Horrible service. Didn't even come around to see if we needed anything or if everything was good or not. We came here around 1:30pm on 3/16. The restroom was also out of paper towels and soap from the soda dispenser. Poor quality food! Glad I tried it, so I know to not come back again!

Every Filipino swears their food is better at home and I'm sure it may be, but we need to appreciate places like this that put our cuisine out there and make it this good! I was very impressed with the flavors and I absolutely loved that they served the bibinka similar to a cornbread because it works! I never thought to eat bibinka with savory foods because it's normally a dessert to me, but it is definitely the icing! All the meats were definitely tasty, but the star that made these proteins pop was the vinegar! My youngest said that's just me being Filipino because he said it didn't need the vinegar, but trust me... make sure to use that vinegar. I can probably drink the vinegar because it's that good! The restaurant is nicely decorated with beautiful cultured decoration that remind you of the homeland. We love coming to restaurants like this because it helps us connect through delicious foods and culture and find our identity. The woman serving us was super nice and on top of everything. The service was super fast. She didn't bug us and knew how to interact when she needed to and definitely deserves some recognition. If you're in the area then please check this place out!

Such a nice option when you want something a little different without going across town. We ordered the coconut beef adobo, pork ribs, and the cornbread bibingka. The coconut beef adobo was definitely the standout for me. It kind of reminded me of Bicol express with a slight tanginess. Super flavorful and really good with steamed rice. The pork ribs were not your typical saucy, sweet, fall off the bone type. These were more dry style with a bark that can be a little tough, but the meat itself was still juicy underneath. The cornbread bibingka was also really good. It felt like the perfect mix of classic cornbread and bibingka, slightly sweet and soft, and the sugar on top was a nice touch. Portions were solid too. My husband and I had enough leftovers for the next day. Overall, really glad we finally got to try it, and we would definitely love to try more of their dishes someday.

Back in the day, you had to get there early because the place STAYED PACKED, and their ribs were THEE reason to go. They were hands down some of the best ribs I ever had as a kid. They put me on. Fast forward 15-20 years later, and today was my first time coming back since my teenage years. I tried calling ahead to place an order, but couldn't get through. Honestly, that didn't surprise me because Woody's was always busy. I figured it was still the same old Woody's. Then I pulled into the parking lot around 6 PM on a Thursday. Immediately, there was parking available. That alone felt odd. No line. Plenty of parking. Not a single customer inside. That should have been my first sign. We ordered beef ribs, sliced brisket, mac and cheese, and dessert. They were out of the banana pudding, so we settled for peach cobbler. The total was around $50, which isn't bad for dinner for two. The excitement really started to hit when we got home and opened everything up. Unfortunately, that's when reality set in. The mac and cheese was terrible. Completely flavorless, watery, and mushy. The pasta was so overcooked it practically fell apart and blended together like baby food. It tasted old and had absolutely no seasoning or richness whatsoever. First and last time ordering that. Next was the brisket. The slices were gray, dry, and looked like they'd been sitting around for a while. I took one bite and immediately said, "Absolutely not." Another disappointment. But I wasn't too worried yet because I came for one thing: THE RIBS. The flavor was actually still there. The sauce and seasoning reminded me of the Woody's I remembered. BUT THE TEXTURE... A completely different story. The ribs weren't tender, weren't juicy, and definitely weren't falling off the bone. They were tough enough that I found myself working for every bite. At that point, the empty parking lot, empty dining room, and lack of lines made a lot more sense. By the end of the meal, I ended up rinsing the remaining ribs off so my dog could enjoy them as a chew toy. What hurts most isn't the bad meal--it's seeing what was once a legendary BBQ spot become a shadow of what it used to be. I almost wish I hadn't come back because it tarnished some really great childhood memories for me. I don't enjoy leaving negative reviews, but I also believe in being honest. Maybe I caught them on a bad day, but based on this experience, Woody's is not the Woody's I remember, and unfortunately, I won't be returning. If it's any consolation, the cobbler was okay. But not worth going out of my way for.

My group and I decided to stop here for our lunch before going to universal studios since it was along the way. Parking is pretty confusing for us. They state there's a lot behind the building to park at, but it looks liked you have to pay and we weren't sure which lot. So we just did street parking. We did go around 1:30 pm on a Thursday, so did not have much of an issue with finding street parking. Inside the restaurant, they have plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. There's no wait staff, so you go to the counter and order and once it's ready, they call your name/number and you pick up your tray of food from the counter. We ordered the El trio platter, which comes with 1 lbs of brisket, 1 lbs of pork ribs, 2 sausages (chili relleno and cheddar jalapeno) and 2 sides (which we chose Mac and cheese and red potato salad). We also saw the burgers from YouTube so got 2 of the Thicc burgers to share among everyone. We got a sides of the Texas chili to try. Everything was great. Our group really enjoyed the food and everyone said the BBQ was some of the best they've had. The brisket was really tender and seasoned well. Everything was seasoned well actually. The burger was great. It was soft, great flavor and was just really solid. One of the best burgers I've had. The ribs were everyone's least favorite, but that just means the other food tasted better. Ribs were still good. All the sides were delicious as well. The Texas chili was great, the Mac and cheese was creamy and the potato salad tasted homemade. We could tell it was made in house. The sweet iced tea was refreshing, not overly sweet b Overall, I'll have to come back here to try their desserts and other items. I'll for sure be getting the burger and brisket again.
