Tonkatsu House is Located in the food court of Korea Town's famous Korean Town plaza of Los Angeles. It's simple, you order from counter with menu and will be given a pager for your food. Please remember to validate parking here. Service is friendly even though they speak to me in Korean only. Vibe is typical food court style. You don't have to return your tray or dump the trash as they have people collecting plates and clean the tables and common area. The tables are all shared in the food court. For the price we paid which is $15. You get a well marinated fried pork chop - which is super thin but the breading is just fine too. Not too thick, yummy! #17, you will have small side dishes salad, pickled and diced chilies, a bit of rice, a little bit of mac salad. It's a traditional dish in my opinion. Line is busy, but they are efficient. Recommended!

Found a unique food court decided to grab a plate and wow this could feed 3 people. This place is very nice a lot different from all the other same old chain restaurants. The food was good the service was great but this place is truly something special.

Tonkatsu House (Inside the Food Court) This food court should smell like frying oil and sizzling cutlets, but instead it smells like someone mopped the entire place with hotel soap. Not exactly appetizing -- I wish the kitchens pumped their smells out the way Cinnabon does in white-people malls. As for the food: not enough rice, and the potato salad? Why make it macaroni salad instead? I legit thought it was potato salad until I took a bite. The pork cutlet is super thin, like "did I dream the meat?" thin -- but I'll give them credit, they do not skimp on the curry sauce. You'll have enough of that to drown the entire plate. Main pro-tip: get it to go, because you probably won't finish it anyway, and they charge for to-go containers, which is wild. Overall: edible, cheap-ish, but between the soap smell, the thin cutlet, and the surprise mac salad, I think I've had my fill.

Located inside the koreatown plaza food court. I ordered the king pork cutlet, huge portion!! Comes with side of cabbage salad, mac salad, rice, white colored soup, and more cutlet sauce on the side. The portion is so huge that I shared with two others and we were satisfied. Parking is 3 hours free with validation and this place will validate.

Delicious and enormous tonkatsu for a great price, what a steal! I've been here a few times and the food is always tasty and consistent. My sister and I shared the king pork cutlet since it was huge and we both were still stuffed! I like that it comes with lots of sides such as rice, cabbage, and mac salad. The tonkatsu is nicely crispy and juicy and the sauce is tasty. Service was quick. I would definitely be back if I'm at KTP!

Delicious and ginormous pork katsu for the price point! I've been a few times and the food has been consistent. The king pork cutlet comes with rice, cabbage, mac salad, jalapeños, corn soup and extra tonkatsu sauce. The cutlet is huge- my sister and I shared it and were still stuffed! The tonkatsu was thick and crispy, and the sauce is yummy. I love pairing it with rice and cabbage. I would definitely come back next time I'm at KTP!

Who doesn't like fried?? Especially when the pork is bigger than two hands together! $15! The Mac salad and rice is your typical sides. The cabbage salad with that dressing was the best side! This plate was shared by three people and filled us up just right. We got the fish cake with oden next door, so perfect portions for the price to feed three! I mean we weren't stuffed, but satisfied! This place is in the Korea plaza food court with plenty of seating!

Visited on Saturday, March 21, 2026, and this was easily one of the most disappointing experiences I've had here. I understand that prices increase due to inflation--but cutting quality at the same time is unacceptable. The katsu was shockingly thin compared to previous visits, to the point where it felt like a completely different standard. It came across as cost-cutting at the customer's expense. If you're going to charge more, the quality and portions should at least remain consistent. Right now, it feels misleading and not worth the price. Until the restaurant restores its previous quality, I won't be returning.

Came here for the famous King Tonkatsu. Price went up a bit. I thought, cool, quality and portions should still be there. Oh boy... I was wrong. Everything shrunk. Especially the tonkatsu. The meat was paper thin. All I tasted was breading. Barely any pork flavor at all. Soup came out cold. Not warm. Cold. Dinner vibes completely gone. Very disappointing. Honestly, the spot across H Mart has way thicker tonkatsu than this. Sad to say, but this one's a pass.

Firstly, service is absolutely horrendous!!!! Having dining here since I was a young child, this was extremely disappointing that service and quality has gone downhill, as others mentioned. I had this loyalty card, granted its an older card & they refused to honor/provide any stamps. There are NO terms and conditions on this & I am certain there are legal parameters surrounding this. As a native Korean speaker, they were very condensing in their tone, despite speaking the same language. The portions have gone down significantly and I still feel hungry after eating here. Prices have gone up and keeps rising!!! Do NOT be fooled by the illusion of the large fried pork slice. It is thinly sliced, so you are NOT getting much value. I also asked for extra napkins, after being included a single napkin. However, they very hesitantly gave me a whopping 4 more napkins, after I strongly asked! Very stingy and absent customer care! I still gave their food a chance, for sake of nostalgia, but bad decision on my part! Hopefully, they enjoyed my LAST payment! Will NOT return anymore!

Food is huge . It is inside the plaza. I really like the food. It so yummmy and big portions. I order the number 2 it came with beef , fish cutlet and chicken cutlet. Price is cheap 15$, with tax around 17.5$ would come back for sure!!

Consistent. Crunchy. Delicious. This mall food court standout has everything a tonkatsu lover needs on a plate. I haven't found an another similar experience with pork tonkatsu in LA. Every once in a while my wife craves this to the point that it HAS to be our next meal. Thin fried cutlet the size of the plate, wonderful mac salad, freshly shredded cabbage, pickled jalapeños, and steamed rice combine for a one of one plate of food. And for under $20!

If you're looking for an affordable spot in Koreatown to eat, definitely check out Tonkatsu House in the food court of Koreatown Plaza! Every single time I'm at KTP, I have to stop by this spot- they have the most insanely huge portions of freshly fried tonkatsu, at absolutely insane prices. I opted for one of the most expensive sets, which includes a full bento box of rice, salad and two stacks of chicken katsu, as well as a full bowl of udon noodle soup for LESS THAN $20! I haven't seen prices like this since before the pandemic, and the food is surprisingly made quite well too! You can enjoy it fresh in the food court, or you can ask to get it to go, which they do a great job of packing up. Highly recommend checking out this spot if you're in the area!

What seemed like a deceptively simple bowl was one of the most delicious and flavorful meals I've had - I'll be thinking about my bowl for a long time. I got the plain kalgaksu, mainly because it included pork potstickers. The anchovy broth isn't fishy (which I was concerned about), it's deep and full in a way that's hard to describe. It penetrates the noodles and potatoes well. The broth is similar if not the same between most bowl types. The cold noodles were also delicious, which a couple of my friends ordered. Quite large portions, as just about everyone had to take some home. They also have bibimbap if you're craving a rice based meal instead. I can't wait to come back - maybe not on a Saturday night next time so I don't have to look so long for parking!

I really wanted authentic Korean food that was not kbbq and not tofu and this place delivered! This restaurant is in a small strip mall. The strip mall has other Korean food options. They have a valet parking system of sorts but we didn't pay, we self parked. The attendant told us we were fine. It was approx 9pm when we arrived and also a week night. I have no idea how much valet parking is here. We were a small party of two. Upon arrival, we were notified they were out of RICE. Um..what?? That's a good problem (for them to have) but not for consumers. I feel this really limited our options to just soup. I honestly didn't want soup but there wasn't much else we could order. The bowls were large and came out piping hot. It was a satisfying meal and not too heavy. The price point was on the pricey side. Our waiter told us business has not been the same post covid. Some dishes are between $40-$60. I asked for a soup and they were able to make it less spicy. My friend got a soup with dumplings in it. He put a good amount of soy sauce to give the broth some life. Also, the banchan is on point. We asked for a refill and devoured the second portions. If you wanna impress friends with Korean food, bring them here! Its a casual place.

If you're searching for some of the city's best pork, then those in the know will bring up Ham Ji Park. For 2 decades, generous platters of pork ribs and pork neck stew decked every table. Now, our Korean friends lament the loss of their favorite pork joint in the city. The Koreatown proper location is located in the Royal Plaza mini-mall, just a few blocks off bustling Wilshire. Discounted parking is available in a lot across the street from the Chevron gas station. From the street, the entrance is flanked by potted plants and an enclosed street-ery. Inside, stainless steel chairs are pressed up against wooden tables, each outfitted with a metal grill. Oppressive fluorescent lighting shines down on the stone grey walls, which are left undecorated apart from a few flatscreens. Multi-lingual chatter blends with the sizzle of platters. I visited with some friends for a weeknight dinner, and about half of the tables were occupied. We shared a spread of grilled platters and sizzling soups. The meal began with a carafe of barley tea and a mostly standard spread of banchan. Across our food, the best dish was the signature Charbroiled Pork Spare Rib. The ribs were flavorful without feeling gamey, and the meat was complemented by sweet caramelized onions. The pork ribs handily outdid the good-not-great Charbroiled Beef Short Rib. Lastly, the Milt and Cod Rose with Vegetables stew was fishy and briny, appropriately flavored for the Korean palate. The service was appropriately attentive, although I would've appreciated more intentional refills of our banchan ramikens. The rib plates cost upward of $35 each, while the soup was just under $30. The portions were hearty; a single entree platter could reasonably feed 2 moderately hungry bellies. It's a shame to hear that Ham Ji Park has closed; I'm kicking myself for not trying their pork neck stew earlier.
