    Truly a nice place to work out. Nice steam sauna and plenty of newer equipment. Nothing compares to this in Santa Cruz county.

It is summer and there is a student membership special right now (3 months free). The teens come in groups and it is so sweet to see them working out together, chatting, staying at one machine way to long (but who cares), and having something to do that is healthy! They have lots of cardio options and I have always had a machine available for what I want to do. The weights get busy in the evening, but there are plenty of times when there is a ton of open space. During peak hours the bathroom and changing rooms can be full and not super clean and tidy, but other times things are kept super clean in there. There really should be lots of hooks to hang your bag, towel, clothes and shelf for your water bottle in all the spaces like tanning bed room, red-light therapy room, bathrooms, showers, changing rooms, etc. Also, the red-light therapy room should have a garbage can for the used paper towels used for cleaning the booth. I love the red-light therapy, hydrobed massages, and massage chairs. That area is calm and relaxing and so wonderful that you can have access to these recovery tools for $25/month. I find most of the front desk people to be friendly and upbeat. There are a couple of workers who are obviously more shy and may have social anxiety so they are on the more reserved side, no biggie. This is a chain, but it still gives me a small town Watsonville vibe with a more low key, down-to-earth group of members. There aren't all those goofy muscle men occupying the entire space making women feel unwanted in the space. There are a lot of beginners and intermediate level individuals learning form and trying to get in shape.

He started us off on a simple meal plan and basic routine of working out just to get us back into the comfort of exercise, movement and mobility. I had hip surgery two years ago and since then it's been really difficult to find someone who is knowledgeable enough to incorporate a workout that conforms to my specific injury and recovery. He designed a workout program that completely catered to both of our needs and gave us both a little starter pack which I've attached below! Love it! He gave us each a pack of Mini bands, Lacrosse balls, & a pvc pipe to use for at home movement prep series & post movement series. So far we've both made significant progress and incorporate all that he teaches us in our daily routine as a couple. I've trained with many fitness experts and I must say that this guy is thorough, fun and supportive. His programs have been easy to follow with direction, guidance & daily check in's. I would 1000% recommend doing one-on-one training sessions--it's the best money I've ever spent on myself. Thanks to our workouts, I had an incredibly easy delivery and post-partum recovery. Tal radiates positive energy! She kept me smiling, fit, motivated, and--most importantly--SAFE throughout my pregnancy. Her workouts were not only fun but also incorporate many moves that can actually be used during labor. She was always in-tune to my needs and would adapt her routines--even mid-workout--to make sure I was safe and pain-free. I also loved that she emphasized important foundations (e.g. proper breathing technique, connecting breath to core and pelvic floor, safe ways to get in/out of bed, ways to avoid diastasis recti, etc). I continue to use those skills daily. Not only is Tal a mama herself, she has years of experience as a specialized prenatal/post-partum personal trainer. She even stays up-to-date with ACOG recommendations and takes refresher maternal health courses. As a physician, I was impressed with the depth of her knowledge. If you train with her, you get access to her Strong Mama Fitness online for free--another incredible resource. Although she is no longer local in the Bay Area, she is available for 1-on-1 virtual training via Zoom. Our virtual sessions were super convenient, all without sacrificing quality.
