My wife and I stopped in for a late breakfast (about 11:00) the other day. There were only 2 customers there at the time. One customer who was eating his food and another guy at the bar chatting with the waitress. She seated us, gave us menus and asked if we needed anything to drink, so I asked for a small orange juice. She then proceeded to go back to her conversation with the guy at the bar. After waiting patiently for more than 10 minutes for her to bring me my orange juice and take our order, we got fed up and left. She makes eye contact with us as we were leaving, but made no effort to talk to us. We had tried the restaurant about a year before during a busier time of day and while the food was good, it took over 45 minutes to get our food. Love this restaurant! My Apple Crisp French Toast was the best I have ever had, and French Toast is my go to at breakfast. The Bloody Mary was yummy, with just the right amount of spiciness. Nice place for breakfast. The fried eggs and bacon were cooked to perfection. However the place is cold as is the food. The food is served on cold plates in a cold room. I would be giving a 5 star review if it wasn't for service of a regular employee. Don't get me wrong - the food is amazing! And most of the staff are wonderful- however I've had to leave multiple times because this one waitress has made me and my sister feel very uncomfortable. She will either flat out ignore us - or be going so fast that she doesn't get our order. Ex: once she came to get our order and just cut me off part way through when I wasn't done ordering...I didn't get my own food but everyone else got theirs - because she just kept cutting me off and walking away. She also will ask if you need something and then walk away before you can speak.. Another time I was waiting with my sister for over ten minutes and she looked at us and rudely said "do you need something?" As though we weren't clearly waiting there to eat. Unfortunately, on days she is working I don't even go inside anymore :( Other than her though, everyone has been great, the food is amazing and it's a cute place. read more

The servers were great, very attentive and nice over all. The good was okay. I had the eggs Benedict and this is one of my favorite breakfasts of all time. With that being said this egg's Benedict was okay. I've definitely had better but in also had much worse. Personally I like a good piece of Canadian bacon and a slightly crunchier English muffin. The egg was perfectly poached and there was a good amount of hollandaise sauce. My husband got the salmon eggs Benedict and it was okay but the salmon tasted like it was out of a can. My husband and I went here for date night. This was our first time here together. The food was AMAZING!!! We had the full slab of ribs dinner. The portions were HUGE!! Everything had to have it's own dish. The food was very tasty and the ribs were fork tender. We wanted to try someplace new for delivery dinner and when we found this on Grubhub we decided to give it a try. We each ordered the fish and chips and while we expect they will be better when we are ready to dine there in person, they were pretty darn good. The portion was more than ample with four or five pieces of fish and some pretty amazing fries (I definitely can't wait to try those when they are fresh from the kitchen without the delivery time added). We went to Toast & Jam last Sunday and it was fantastic; one of the best Bloody Mary's I've had in the past 20 years or so(had two); I had Salmon omelet(w/Hollandaise sauce)excellent; my wife had the Western Scramble plus a coffee cake(we had to take some to go as portions were large and the potatoes were very tasty. Interestingly, they serve Hunt's ketchup which I had not had in about 50 years and it provides a nice sweet taste to everything. Anyway, nice and clean. I found this new south Salem restaurant to try, and I wasn't disappointed! They serve breakfast all day long, which I was excited about because sometimes you just want breakfast. I had the quiche and he had the biscuits and gravy. Everything was absolutely wonderful! It was the perfect amount of food for him, and I couldn't finish my meal. Hands down, the best quiche I have ever had! We will be back! Ps... ignore the terrible pictures. I couldn't pull myself away from the food long enough to take a picture until I was half way done! I wish I could give more stars to this new restaurant but I can't. I ordered for take out their breakfast sandwich, which is kind of pricey at $9.50 though it comes with potatoes or fruit. I opted for a croissant for $1 more. A croissant should have some bite, this one was soft and mushy. I should've gone with their regular bread options. There was no cheese - I honestly forget if it was supposed to come with cheese, but it should and it didn't - for $10.50 - a breakfast sandwich should come with cheese. Finally, the potatoes were on the burnt side and not particularly flavorful. I may come back to try their other breakfast options. But I do think their breakfast sandwich is a miss. Points for a cute restaurant, but the side lotto area was a bit puzzling - not sure what it adds to this establishment's particular ambience except noise. read more

I am adding an extra star for our waitress today. She was alone for the first hour, and did an amazing job keeping up with a full house. From the outside the place looks dark and looks like a bar. Almost did not look open. We arrived when they opened at 7am I noticed dirty tables, and stained chairs. The bathroom had not been cleaned recently, the soap dispenser had a leak and was making a mess on the floor. The food was good. Everyone in our group enjoyed their food. I ordered coffee, chicken fried steak, potatoes, eggs and coffee cake. My food was not very hot to almost cold. The coffee cake was ok, a bit sweet for me. The coffee was not hot , and for some reason coffee is only served about a half cup at a time. I also noticed a butter tub that appears to be left out , and used to add to plates at they come out. The tub was very crusty and appears to be left out , or if it iput away it isn't being covered. read more
