What a delightfully cozy and great cafe I visited for the first time! It's conveniently located right off the highway and nearby many retail shops, dining establishments and hotels. On this visit I decided to pass on my free continental breakfast at the hotel and find a nearby business to enjoy a fresh and delicious breakfast. I definitely made the right decision when finding Toast Cafe online and seeing their reviews. Upon arriving I was greeted immediately by friendly staff. The interior was very clean and the dining sits up to twelve people. Nice flowers adorned the table and a nice view of the wall decorations can be seen from the comfort seating. The front has nice outdoor seating for those wanting to enjoy some of that warm Hollywood, Fl sun and morning breeze. I ordered the Turkish coffee which was strong in flavor and tasty. I chose the orange juice which came with the Israeli breakfast...Even perfect for two people to share! All of the platters sides were amazingly fresh. My eggs were cooked perfectly to my liking and also were tasty. The fresh whole wheat bread was served warm and was delicious. To add to my sweet tooth craving before my long drive back home, I also ordered the waffles. These were served with some sliced strawberries, chocolate dipping sauce and syrup. The waffles were gently sprinkled with cinnamon and added to the already perfectly not too sweet taste. Staff and management were very kind and professional. They ensured that I was content throughout my entire visit while enjoying all of the delicious food and drinks. What a gem of a place to dine at. Based on my first impressions, the sweet little cafe before oakwood plaza seemed very cute and clean. The new owner approached us almost immediately and service throughout was very prompt. We ordered a couple things to share and it had such a homey yet minimalistic atmosphere. Our first order was the classic israeli shakshuka. The shakshuka came with a plethora of sides such as tehini, baguette, salad, and middle eastern pickles. Eggs were cooked to perfection and infused by the spicy tomato sauce it was cooked in. Next we ordered burekas (2 cheese) and it was probably one of the best I had. That alone was big enough to fill us both up so after we just ordered coffee and dessert. For dessert we tried some pasteries such as their almond and chocolate croissants. The chocolate had the smoothest fill to it and the almond was crisp and delightful. While both were great, do yourselves a favor and get the shakshuka - best I've had outside of Israel. So first time we came here with my kids we were getting our phone fixed next door. We originally were going in for just a drink but it was completely empty and cool inside because it was so hot outside. So I figured we would "try something new" we ordered the food and we get our drinks no problem, then we receive first our salad. I remained shut to see what would happen next. He then says you didn't order it I was standing right here next to her and you never ordered that. At that point I was so pissed then two more older Spanish woman come inside and they explain the situation so I assumed were the owners? They look at me smile and walk away, not a word. I explain it was our first time there and our experience was pretty shitty considering we only got ONE salad for my two younger kids and my husband. He said okay well what do you want me to do? Found this little place for breakfast and so happy I did. Its very small but wonderful with seating outside. Excellent cappuccino and fresh fruit. I really enjoyed my French toast. I have to tell ya that $72 for breakfast for 4 people is way to high.We had one ice coffee for $5.95 (totally ridiculous), one pancake order $9.95 (acceptable), one waffle 12.95 (no fruit) way to high, one Israeli breakfast $19.95 plus two reg coffees $7.00. In addition to these inflated prices there were no free refills on the 3 coffees. I was also chgd. addtl $2.23 for using a credit card + tax and 18% gratuity. I still cannot believe $72.39 for breakfast. I will be surprised if they are still in business this time next year. We shall definitely not be returning.
