I come here about once a week for breakfast. Food is always consistent and delicious. Service is great. My only complaint is that the coffee is sometimes burnt tasting. Not sure if it's the brand of coffee they carry, or if the coffee is actually burnt. I wish they would work out a deal with Roast (across the street) and carry their delicious coffee. read more

A group of 7 of us visited Toast. We called ahead to see how long the wait was and we were told to download the NoWait app. (Very helpful) Upon arriving and waiting for about 25 minutes (which was expected) we were sat. The decor was pretty nice and interesting- however it was brutally hot inside. They have very large fans going, but I think it's unacceptable to have your patrons sweating while eating breakfast. The lemon mimosa was DELISH and everyone else enjoyed their orange mimosas and coffee. We ordered breakfast- we knew it would take a while to get our orders as it was very crowded, but it took just under 30 minutes to get our food. Between some of our poached eggs being over cooked, toast being burned and English muffins being rock hard- we were less than pleased. We wanted to order more mimosas and coffee- but our waitress could not be found. (It didn't help that the waitstaff can wear whatever random tshirt they are in the mood to wear). We paid. We left. Came here for "brunch" on a Thursday to celebrate a friend's birthday. I ordered a Turkey BLT and was expecting something phenomenal since they are known to have good brunch food but....WRONG. The turkey was stale as if it was sitting out. It came with some basil mayo and it tasted oily..which I did not enjoy at all. And to top it off the fries were over cooked. The food at Sunday brunch was good but the service towards the end of our visit was very unsatisfactory and sullied the experience. Our waiter left the bill and said no rush, but as my party of three finished our drinks and continued catching up other members of the wait/bus staff kept coming over to cleanup and rush us out. Twice staff came to take the bill and as they were about to walk away we explained we hadn't even put our payment in. Right after our credit card slips came we were told we needed to leave. I understand that this is a very busy spot and many people were waiting however when all was said and done we were there for less than 1.5 hours and had waited a half hour for the table. Parties who arrived before us were only just leaving as we were getting up. I think I will be trying out many of the other great brunch options on Long Island before circling back here. read more

I've never been to the Port Jeff location but when this place opened in Patchogue I decided to try it for breakfast. I'd checked the menu online and it looked like it would be good. We got there and waited about 20 minutes for a table, which I didn't think was terrible on a Sunday morning. I ordered the apple cinnamon crumb pancakes and my daughter ordered French toast with bananas. My son got a short stack of plain pancakes. The apple cinnamon crumb pancakes were underwhelming. Not much flavor to them, very little apple or cinnamon or crumb. Nothing special at all. My son's pancakes were fine but they were plain pancakes so that's hard to mess up. My daughter seemed to like her French toast. Service was nothing special. A waitress took our drink order fairly quickly and brought them right out and then took our food order. The food came in a reasonable time. But after that, we were checked on once and were never offered drink refills. The check was then brought and paid with a card. A manager processed the payment since the waitress hadn't come back. Overall, I'd say Toast is kind of bland. Not sure I'd go back. IHOP does a better breakfast to be honest. read more

I really love this spot for brunch. Anything I've ordered has been amazing... always great specials and especially great service! However, I've used the NoWait App since I come here so often and the wait times are long. Today, I waited 1.5 hours on the NoWait App, arrived to Toast on time, and still waited ANOTHER 1.5 hours upon arrival to be seated. It's really frustrating that using the app is completely pointless sometimes when it can be a great tool to bring in more customers. I also noticed a few other patrons upset at the same thing happening to them. I understand it's busy but moving tables as quickly as possible is crucial in this kind of place. read more

The rustic and homey decor make you feel like you're sitting down for a cozy breakfast/brunch at an old friend or relatives place. They serve up breakfast and lunch options plus have a full bar so whatever mood you're in, you're sure to be satisfied. They had a great selection of artistic coffees as well. My bf and I came around 11:30 on a Saturday morning and we had to wait about 25 mins for a table. I ordered the avocado scramble, which came with avocado, peppers and onions mixed into scrambled eggs. I'd also came with my choice of toast and home fries on the side. The homefries were to die for! My bf got the chicken and waffles which came with a side of this pecan syrup which we almost drank straight from the cup. This stuff was gooooooood, but a bit too sugary. Place is spacious, interior decor really fun, sort of reminds me a little of steam punk. The waiter was friendly, helped us choose some plates she recommended. We started with an OJ & Double Chocolate Cappuccino, both were lovely. My husband had the Benedict Arnold, which he said was delicious, except the burned hash browns...the waiter did replace them though and the new fresh ones were strikingly more fresh - I'm surprised they even served the burned ones! The contrast was night and day. The onions and peppers on the burned ones were unrecognizable they were so burned. Suffice to say, it was worth asking for them to be replaced! I got my blueberry pecan pancakes and they were delicious. Syrup was nice, they also offer 100% real maple syrup upon request. Much of the menu was organic as well. Nice location, clean, roomy booth. Menu has a decent number of choices. Menu listed that burrito's come with home fries. One listed potatoes inside.When I complained to the waitress that mine should not have had potatoes in it, she told me "with home fries" meant they all came with potatoes inside. I said, that the home fries on the plate would seem to be consistent with the menu, she didn't agree. Wrong answer, wrong attitude, never told manager, or worse did and manager didn't come over. Two other issues - one order had extra bacon which had a few bits of bacon in it (not my definition of extra) and the coffee was inconsistent cup to cup. Toast is THE SPOT for breakfast and lunch in patchogue. Warning: if you arrive on a weekend during normal breakfast hours be prepared for a wait-but it's worth it. The inside is very industrial/hipster reminiscent of a scene out of Williamsburg. If you've eaten at their alternate location in port jeff-DON'T us it as a benchmark, port jeff is great but-this place is superior!! The service is consistently efficient and what I really love is that the entire staff works as a team-there is always someone in sight to help and it is clear your request doesn't bother them!! You MUST try the peach iced tea-it's so fresh and not too sweet. The dried berry iced tea is delicious too (ask for a sample) and served with a generous amount of soaked fruit. Coffee specialties never disappoint and my personal favorite (when substituting a meal for a drink) would be the s'mores cappuccino or latte (it was a special). The specials are always intriguing and I recommend you try one! My ultimate favorite sandwich is the breadwinner-it is a chicken salad sandwich served on this heavenly crispity crunchy rosemary focaccia roll. The accompanying salad is big and fresh if you choose that as a side-the sweet potatoes fries are OUTRAGEOUS And served with this light and creamy sweet maple mayo-TRIPLE YUM! The breakfast is consistent-the first time I ever had avocado in eggs was here...they have rocking specialties. If you see a stuffed French toast on the speciality bird go for it!! The whole grain bread (upcharge) for your breakfast is amazing. I have yet to be disappointed here and every visit is better than the next. So I was unsure reading the reviews as they seem to be all over the place. This is a sign of inconsistent which will kill a restaurant. Open mind and walked in on a Saturday 1030am. Place was busy, the host was nice and they use a text system which is a +1 for me. We waited 10 minutes for our table which is fine. Service was good we did not wait long at all for my cappuccino or my daughter's smoothie. Ordered eggs Benedict with sausage gravy and biscuits, daughter Nutella French toast. As we waited for our food I kept looking around d and saw people waiting in angst for service so it depends on who your waited is. Our food arrived hot and delish. The eggs poached perfectly and the home fries hot crispy and really good not like your diner home fries. I have said it's been a long time coming for a breakfast place to come and be worthy enough for this area. We now have two, jts in bluepoint new place and Toast in Patchogue. I think I can say good riddens to the long island diner for breakfast trend and say hello to its about freaking time breakfast joints!!! read more

I've been here two other times after my first good experience, and my experiences since were just "meh". I am beginning to think this place is over-hyped. The good things are still good, but it isn't THAT great (i.e. not worth the wait.) The 2nd time our waiter was super friendly, but he was not exactly attentive. For example, he did not take notes while we ordered. This is totally fine, if everything goes smoothly, but when we got our food instead of giving us the kids pancakes we ordered for our young son they gave us a short stake of blueberry pecan pancakes. Our waiter just misunderstood or miscommunicated our order-- the issue was resolved but it was a stupid mistake (I mean it can't be common for young children (in a high chair) to order nut based pancakes can it?) On the same trip, we discovered their chicken and waffles is embarrassingly bad--I do not recommend. Everything else about the experience was great except when it came time to pay. Our waiter checked in on us we asked for the bill and we waited & waited. We spotted him across the way chatting up a young female employee. He came towards us with a bill but it happened to be for the table next to us, when we asked for it a second time he said, "Oh it never came?" Nope. Not huge things to complain about, because rushing you out the door would obviously be worse, but I think they need to strike some middle ground here when they have a line out the door and an hour wait to get in. The third time we utilized the app, and the experience confirmed my earlier suspicions that the staff under-estimates the wait time. They tell you it is going to be a 30 minute wait, but then you log in and see there are 20 parties in front of you on the app guess what you are easily in for an hour wait. read more

I've had a few great meals at toast, but I stick to what I know and my last visit tells me why: I took my husband and MIL to Toast for brunch and we know the system. Used Nowait and were seated quickly. We've got this part down pat. Now, it's summer and they've got the AC crankin', which is great. But they seated us under a duct that was condensing water and dropping it onto our table and into our water glasses (can you spell Legionnaires?!). I've seen this vent dripping before but the table was vacant. They're clearly aware of their dripping vent, but felt the need to have another four top to accommodate a busy Saturday. I would rather wait, tbh. My MIL got the French toast and it was literally just toasted brioche bread - it's not dipped in egg or anything, just dry bread with some stuff on top. I always get an omelette and find the homefries to be pretty solid. No problems there. Lastly, their service is hit or miss, but usually I think they could benefit from another server to take the pressure of these folks who are busy with tons of tables. read more
