I ordered carryout from here on a Saturday a few weeks ago after finishing up an event at work. I was pretty pleased/impressed! This restaurant is just a little past the Providence area but not quite to what I consider Madison. It's tucked away a little bit and not super easy to see from the road. A few others have come and gone in this location over the years; based on the experience I had, I hope Toast It Iz can stay. I placed my order and paid pretty seamlessly via ToastTab. It said my order would be ready in 15 minutes, though I had the option to set a pickup time. I got unexpectedly waylaid at work and wound up not arriving to pick up my food til about 15 minutes AFTER my scheduled pickup time, but fortunately they still had my order waiting for me. There's a large parking lot so parking is easy enough and I walked right in to pickup at the hostess desk. The place is big inside and it was BUMPIN when I came in. Idk if that's a regular Saturday feature or if there was a special event going on, but the lights were turned down and the music was turned up and lots of people were eating, drinking, and laughing. Seemed like a really fun time, though not a low-key breakfast and coffee kind of brunch vibe - more on the boozy side. Nothing wrong with that though! It would be a lot of fun to go with friends. The hostess was super friendly and smiley and passed my food right off to me. I squirreled it out to my car and ate there in the promised air conditioning. I ordered the banana pudding waffle. Everything was packaged thoughtfully though as a result required some self-assembly - i.e., the pudding, syrup, and whipped cream all came in little cups that I dumped on top of the waffle. This ultimately served me super well because it kept the waffle from getting soggy. I appreciated this detail! Somewhat incongruously, the plasticware that came with my order in a packet included a knife and a spoon, but no fork. Fortunately the waffle was tender enough to cut with those, but I'm sure I looked silly spooning the waffle pieces to my mouth, lol. It was a tasty treat of a meal. The nilla wafer crumbles really helped deliver on the concept. The waffle had crispy edges and a soft interior and was a pretty golden brown. To be honest, the pudding part had a slightly artificial banana flavor to it that I didn't particularly care for, but the fresh sliced bananas and nilla wafers were good enough that I didn't really mind. If I'm nit-picking, I will probably say that $18 for a waffle, even with fancy toppings and accoutrements, is a little high for me, but I ultimately had a positive experience and would recommend it. They have a large menu filled with yummy sounding items and friendly service and I think I'd enjoy bringing friends here in the future. read more

The ingredients were fresh and the temperature was spot on, but the seasoning could have been bolder, and I've had better omelets and breakfast potatoes elsewhere. The undisputed star of our meal was Bethany's Peach Cobbler French Toast. It had excellent texture, balanced sweetness, and enough flavor that it didn't need a drop of syrup. If you're visiting for the first time, that's the item I'd recommend ordering. My wife also enjoyed her Banana Pudding Waffle, especially paired with the eggs, bacon, and standout cheese grits. The cheese grits were creamy, flavorful, and one of the best savory items we sampled. Presentation across every plate was impressive, and everything arrived hot and fresh. The only disappointment was the service. Our waitress checked on us just once after our food arrived, even though we were the only customers in the restaurant at the time. A little more attentiveness would have elevated the overall experience. Despite that, Toast It Iz is a place I'd gladly visit again. This was being renovated last summer and the place has been open for about 6-months. The signage is modern and nice looking. The place is clean. Everything looked updated and well kept, and I liked that the tables were spaced out enough that you didn't feel on top of other people, but there was still plenty of seating even during a busy time. The hostess was friendly and there was no wait. Food-wise, this place delivers. The fried catfish basket (with fries) was seriously good, perfectly seasoned, cooked just right, and really juicy. Probably some of the better catfish I've had in the area. The catfish, shrimp, and grits meal were also a standout and definitely something I recommend. It also has a pretty self-selecting feel to it. The name "Toasted," subtly suggests skin tone which you wouldn't think of until you enter. The entire staff is one demographic and along with the branding and overall aesthetic, gives off a very specific vibe. As a result, it seems to naturally draw a pretty consistent type of crowd, which ends up shaping the whole atmosphere of the place. The only hiccup for me was the drinks and overall price. Drinks (soda and tea) were $6 and came in smaller cups, and while they refilled them when we asked, it would've been nice if that had been a little more proactive as there was no effort to refill our drinks without us asking. Not a huge deal, just noticeable. What gave me pause was the total. For two people at lunch, two meals, an appetizer, and two drinks (again we're talking tea and soda) it came out to $78 before tip. The food was great, no question, but that's a little higher than I expected for lunch. All in all, the food and the updated look make it worth trying, just go in knowing it might be a bit pricier than you'd think and if you're not toasted you will be in the limelight. read more

Honestly this place has some grrreeeeeat food here. Came here on a Sunday around 1:30 for brunch. I've been wanting to try them for months. So first service was really good. Our server Tay was really sweet and made sure we stayed full on drinks. She also made sure I got my fourth lamb chop I will say however my lamb chops were not cooked equally. Two were medium well, one medium and one well done. Flavor was on point though and great presentation. You really get your moneys worth! Now these appetizers were really good. Croquettes could have had a little more flavor or maybe a nice remoulade or something to dip. Wings were fresh out the grade and spicy how I like them. My best friends both got catfish and MY GOD it was huge portions but fried perfectly. Ambiance was nice, the decor is really pretty here. If you are looking for a true Atlanta brunch experience, this spot delivers. The music sets the tone and the vibe is on point. We did not have a long wait to be seated, which was a plus. My party of two was seated at 12:38 and we did not receive our food until about 1:21, so service is definitely on the slower side. That said, the atmosphere helps make the wait more tolerable. Through observation, the staff appeared busy and possibly understaffed, which may explain the delay. Overall, it is a good place to enjoy music, good energy, and a laid back brunch. (100/10) I visited Toast It Iz in Huntsville, Alabama on a Tuesday during lunch, and it wasn't busy at all, which made for a really enjoyable experience. The space is big and beautifully designed, with so many cute areas that are perfect for photo ops. I do think adding a few more tables would be helpful, especially during busier times. The staff were nice, helpful, and fast, and our food came out quickly. Everything was delicious. I ordered the gumbo grits with catfish, which was full of flavor. For drinks, I had the Honey Do and the Peach Ting, and both were really good and definitely strong. I ended my meal with the deep-fried French toast with ice cream, and it was the perfect finish. Horrible experience. Food took 1.5 hours to arrive. Food was salty, so salty my family stated their bacon had salt on it. Several people in our group received half of their dish and had to wait an additional 10 minutes to receive their sides. I had the House Seafood Omelette. It was missing several things called out in the menu. There was no spinach, tomatoes or Cajun sauce. I didn't want to send it back because the food took so long to receive. The ambiance was nice.
