Toastique is a small spot with a clear focus on pricey, health-forward food. From the photos, it looked good, and I went in expecting it to be expensive, but still wanted it to feel like a treat. I ordered a toast to go. The toast itself was hard to eat. The bread was too chewy, which made it difficult to bite off because there was no proper angle of attack since the toast was large. With that many toppings, it really should have been pre-cut, especially for a takeout order. I could not even cut it properly with the plastic knife they gave. Flavor-wise, it was fine but underwhelming. The salmon was good, and everything seemed fresh, but the overall balance felt off. The cucumbers were plain, and the toast leaned dry, like it needed more sauce or spread to bring it together. For $18, it felt like a ratios problem more than a quality problem. Overall, it is not bad, but I left a little underwhelmed given the price.

Had the mushroom taco, falafel taco, and berry cola everything was fresh and full of flavor! The mushroom taco was delicious, and the falafel taco had a great texture and taste. The berry cola was refreshing and paired perfectly with the meal. The ambience was lovely, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Overall, it was a great dining experience!

We stopped by on a rainy day, not exactly knowing what to expect. The cafe is pretty cute, very bright. You order at the counter, and the staff is actually why Toastique gets a 4 instead of 3. The menu has lots of, well, toasts. They're served on a cute wood panel type thing with real silverware. My husband ordered one of the sandwiches that was advertised as a seasonal special. When it arrived, it was missing a couple ingredients that were in the photo. He asked about it and was told were extra. He said ok and walked away. Within a few minutes, there was a server with those missing ingredients. He said, "I just wanted you to have the sandwich you wanted." So, A+ for service. Kiddo got a smoothie, which was ok, and my toast was quite fancy. There are good vegetarian options, for sure.

This was my first time, but will definitely be back! I was shocked by how fresh and scrumptious the food and drinks were! Definitely go for great fresh food!

The Spicy Crab Toast at Toastique is genuinely addictive. Generous lump crab layered with melted Swiss and fontina, a touch of sriracha aioli, jalapeño, and crisp greens on rustico toast creates a perfect balance of richness and freshness. It's surprisingly light yet still satisfying--one of those dishes you finish and immediately start thinking about the next time you'll have it. Pair it with one of their fresh, healthy juices and the whole experience feels indulgent and energizing at the same time.

We each order the Berry Overnight Oats , it was served COLD. My husband also had an Americano coffee. In his words "it was not good".

Beautiful toasts and bowls, coffee and drinks. My avocado smash toast was pretty as a painting, with watermelon radish and colorful tomatoes. My friend's smoked salmon toast was very generous with the salmon. The toasts were heavy -- generous with avocado and laden with toppings. There's a casual and fun ambience. Pricey, though.

I've dropped by here a few more times since my initial review and I think that it's grown on me! Their smoothies are really good and I appreciate the range in healthy snacks and dishes. Everything is always very fresh and the folks that work here, always pleasant and helpful. I dropped by for a Blue Mystique Smoothie (Blue Spirulina, Banana, Pineapple, Mango and Almond Milk.) The person working at the time was kind enough to share with me the nutrition information for all of the menu items, which I had asked to see prior to ordering. The smoothie was delicious - refreshing, filling and not too sweet. The smoothie was around $10, but seeing that ordering a latte at many coffee shops these days will run me $7, a smoothie that will fill be up for a few hours seems more like money well spent in comparison. I loved the smoothie so much that I plan on dropping by again soon for a morning or mid-day boost. It definitely added a little pep to my step while enjoying a walk during these last warm days of the season.

I'm a tourist so I stopped in randomly and was super impressed! I'll be looking for ways to dupe the dragonberry smoothie from home, it was really delicious. The avocado toast was elevated by these delicious marinated tomatoes that were quite frankly addicting. The poached egg was perfect as well. Super happy I came in and am excited to come back on my next trip to DC!

Came here to satisfy my avocado toast craving and this is a hearty serving. I wish I had like some sea salt or something to add but this meal was cleansing and my heart was full and stomach happy. It's clean in here and cute but can have some traffic so you may or may not get a seat! But I was there comfy.

Bottom of the sandwich totally burned. For both of them.

I ordered 2 Smoked Salmon toasts. Just got home to eat it and they both are totally burned. They put smoked salmon, etc. on top and it looks fine (from the top) , but the bread is totally burned! For both sandwiches. Didn't they see it???? Of course they did! But they did not care (?!) Please check your food before your leave. It was $33 plus tip. It's not about the money, it's about the care and service! It smelled like something was burning when I was waiting, but I did not realize that it would be ignored and the bread would be used to make 2 sandwiches! The place has nice atmosphere and clean. I don't have any complaints there. The menu looks good too.

I ordered the gingerberry smoothie, and it was pretty good. Cafe was very clean, and the service was quick. Didn't really stand out from other smoothie shops, and for the price, it might not be worth it to come regularly. But if you're in the area and craving a smoothie, it's a good place to try.

Toastique is one of my favorite quick lunch restaurants. Most items on their menu follow the vegan restrictions, so vegan lovers this is for you! My meal today: Super Green Smoothie w/protein Soup of the day: crab soup Honestly, the smoothie was extremely filling and satisfying. I believe it's made with fresh fruits and vegetables but I'm unsure (next time I visit I'll update this post with my findings). The crab soup was so flavorful. Packed with onions, carrots, celery, chunks of crab, and coconut milk for the base. I normally take my meal to go but the inside is very welcoming. I'm a fan, and proud of it!

What other fruits is the açaí base blended with?

Hi LeKisha! It depends on which açaí bowl you choose. If you get our OG Açaí it is a base blend of açaí, blueberries, strawberries, banana, and cold-pressed apple juice. If you get the PB+B it is a base blend of açaí, banana, blueberries, peanut…

There's also sanitizer available too at the kiosk. The employees are very friendly, professional & highly social. All the times I've been here. They're always smiling and happy. Which is a major plus. The smoothies have always tasted amazing. They're usually thick and not watered down which is a major plus. Whenever a smoothie is thick. It means a good amount of fruit was used to make it which is very good since the smoothie is not heavily liquified. The overall environment is clean. It can be noisy at certain times due to it being a shared environment with L'Enfant Plaza. But most of the time it's quiet and relaxed. Also I've noticed after they make the smoothies they put the blender containers in the sink and rinse them. So many smoothie places take shortcuts and just reuse the same blender containers without rinsing in between orders which is bad. Here they actually thoroughly rinse the blender containers which is a major plus. The pricing isn't bad compared to other smoothie places. Also they carry various food items here too. I've always got the smoothies though because they're highly addictive. Lol.... The general crowd is mainly adults mostly government workers from inside of L'Enfant Plaza. But during various times. Most of the large groups of kids always have parental chaperones which keeps everyone disciplined and since there's various government offices nearby. There's a very high amount of visible security around which is a plus. Overall A+++++, The woman who works there during the day is a true angel. Birthday cake for breakfast? Say less!…read more I've been dying to try South Block's seasonal Birthday Cake Smoothie because I'm a sucker for anything birthday cake flavored. With this week's heat wave, Thursday felt like the perfect excuse to finally treat myself. The Birthday Cake Smoothie is made with almond milk, banana, vanilla, granola, maple syrup, plant protein, and topped with a dollop of blue CocoWhip, a cherry twist, and sprinkles. I swapped the plant protein for whey protein, and it absolutely hit the spot. It was creamy, refreshing, and definitely gave me the birthday cake vibes I was hoping for without being overly sweet. I ordered ahead through the app, and my smoothie was ready right on time. I also appreciated their pickup setup. Completed orders are placed in a freezer at the counter, so you can simply grab your drink and keep it moving. Quick, easy, and perfect for busy mornings. One thing I love about this location is being inside Union Market. There are plenty of places to sit if you want to enjoy your smoothie or bowl. Now, if you've ever been to Union Market on a weekend or evening, you already know finding a seat can feel like a competitive sport. But in the mornings, it's much calmer with far less foot traffic, making it a great time to visit. Price-wise, it's about the same as the South Block near my office in Arlington. Is it expensive? Sure. But honestly, that's just the reality of smoothie and açaí bowl spots these days. At least here, the quality, convenience, and fresh ingredients make it feel worth the splurge every once in a while. I'll definitely be back... especially if they bring this Birthday Cake Smoothie around again.
