But, I was surprised to learn they do not have a surgical oncologist on staff. The Penn Dr. recommended Dr. Jennifer Reagan at Blue Pearl Malvern. She had a CT at Blue Pearl to be more informed for surgery. The CT report led us to the decision it would be wise to be as aggressive as we can to fight this. Gwen lost her right eye and a lymph node to this process. Dr. Reagan and the nursing staff kept communication very open from day one to the end. Everyone was good to us from the front desk staff to the Dr. herself. If you are an animal lover, you can tell when other people are true animal lovers. All the staff interacted with Gwen in that way and that provided much peace of mind. Gwen has had two follow ups at local vets since she has healed. Both vets commented on the quality of her stitching especially the eye since it was a long area. Gwen's pain was managed so well by the hospital I think the surgery was harder on us than it was on her. The days after coming home she was in high spirits and only concerned about where her groundhog friends were. I am thoroughly pleased with the level of care received. Recommend.

My dog was diagnosed with Anal sac adenocarcinoma while my mother was on hospice, so we decided to…read moremove forward with surgical removal of the tumor (at VRC's recommendation) because we didn't want to lose two family members at the same time. Prior to surgery, the doctors at VRC indicated that successful surgery would get us 1-3 more years with our pet. During surgery, they were able to remove most but not all of the metastatic growth so it was recommended that we move forward with chemo and radiation which would extend his life by 3-6 months instead of the 1-3 years initially stated. Well, our dog died exactly a week after surgery, 1.5 hours after my mother passed. The exact situation that we were trying to avoid unfolded as our worst nightmare. Unbeknownst to us, VRC operated even though our dog was anemic, and as a result, he spent the last week of his life in pain and internally bleeding. The morning of his passing, he was vomiting up blood clots and there were clots coming out of his nose. He was in shock and urinated all over my husband as he carried him to the car to rush him to our closest Vet ER (not VRC). At the ER, we were told it was too late so we made the impossible but humane decision to hold our dog until his last breath. After arriving home, we couldn't even mourn the two deaths we just experienced because we had to clean up the blood from our carpets, curtains, floors, walls, etc. before our young children got home from school so we didn't traumatize them. We paid VRC over $10k and all they did was kill our pet in the most traumatic way. On top of that, they haven't once reached out to check on our pet (he was supposed to have his sutures removed two weeks after surgery but obviously we didn't get to do that, but no one called to find out why) or express their condolences for our loss. I would and could not ever recommend this vet practice to anyone. So disappointing and heartbreaking.

i had been using this vet for years since rescuing my dog. i had found them to be informative and…read morecaring for my dog. that all changed when they opened the new center. each visit is a different doctor and they contradict what the previous doctor said. its obvious they are trying to get you in and out as quickly as possible. they are annoyed when you call in and forget about asking for explanations on what they are doing and how much it will cost, they make that very difficult. perhaps as an emergency center they are less interested in the routine care of your pet because of the low revenue opportunities. my last visit was the last.

I asked to make sure he got a good once over, especially with his teeth, a nail clip and a blood draw. Instead, i got a report from my gf that they couldn't even get close to my cat because he was so "misbehaved" and sent him home with 100 mg Gabapentin, without even administering it, and told us to schedule a new appt later, but not until he takes those pills. They didn't weigh him, look in his mouth, clip his nails, draw blood or anything. But they Had no problem sending me a $250 vet bill for doing literally nothing of the things i asked! Gave him 2 shots and a clean bill of health tho! Fast-forward to literally a month later, where I'm now spending $7000 at an emergency vet on a PU surgery on my blocked cat. If this vet wasn't so "afraid" of my cat he could have gotten a blood draw, like i asked, in order to check any of his levels and cell counts. Maybe i could have got him on a Urinary Care diet months ago and avoided all of this if the vet even bothered to do their job. I'm actually writing this review as I await the Emergency Vet parking lot. My cat can be nasty, I'll give you that. He was an abused street cat and doesn't like strangers. But no vet I've ever been to with him has ever complained about his behavior, refused care or even sent me home with the absolute max amount of sedative you can give a cat. My last update from the emergency vet currently working on my boy was positive! She told me he was feisty at first, but overall is a sweet guy once he feels comfortable in the environment. Funny how that works. I'm sure this vet is Great if you've got a dog who loves everyone or an old cat who is pretty laid back, but If your animal has any anxiety issues, i'd stay 100 miles away from this vet.

They took Molly from me and said I can't come back to the room with her.The technician came out and said everything looks good but when I asked a basic question about whether she could return to hard food he said "I believe so." After spending thousands of dollars there and carefully following every medication and feeding instruction, it was frustrating to get a two minute visit with no chance to even speak to the doctor and a technician who didn't seem fully informed about her case. For the level of care and cost involved I expected clear communication and more direct guidance from the Veterinarian. After everything Molly has been through and all we invested in her care it was disheartening to walk away feeling like we were just another quick stop. I was not expecting a long consultation today just a moment of clarification from the doctor to conform Molly was healed, doing well, and ready to return to her normal routine.
