    Shredded Bison Indian taco
    Tina V.

There's a tiny parking lot in the back, but your best bet is to find street parking. It's a huge space with plenty of seating. The line moves pretty quick. I got the Indian taco with shredded bison and it was pretty tasty. Loved the texture of the taco, perfectly crispy. Good spot for a quick and tasty meal if you can find parking.

Tocabe has been one reason why I've wanted to finally visit Denver. It's one of my go-to places to get food at the Denver airport, and I was very excited to finally try its brick-and-mortar location. When I got off from my Lyft here, I was delighted to step foot into a sweet eatery with plenty of seating and friendly workers. It was clean and brightly lit, and the sight of the Native American decor gave very nice cultural touches. I got a plate with braised shredded bison Indian taco, which was shredded bison meat on top of fry bread. It was very filling. I had been getting over a flu, and filled up on water while I was here. For dessert, you can't skip wojapi (berry dessert) with fry bread. I left here stuffed. I earned my walk all the way to Meow Wolf!

This was the meal we were looking forward to the most during our Denver trip. The thought of bison ribs was enticing, salivation worthy and unique enough to grab our attention. We came in on a Friday night at around 7pm. The person in front of us ordered the very last ribs so we didn't get to try it. Instead, we ended up getting a bowl with wild rice, ground bison, hominy and corn. We also bought a side of fry bread and a cup of the stew. Everything was okay, nothing that blew our minds. I had to add some salt to the stew otherwise it was pretty bland. The bowl was a bit dry too so we had to add salsa to it to add some element of juiciness. Overall, we were a bit disappointed BUT I'm motivated to try the bison ribs at some point so next time I'm in Denver, I will be visiting once more

This was a great stop on ur Denver trip! Being from small town Kentucky, we wanted to try something we'd never tried before that we couldn't get at home. This hit all the requirements, and was really good! We really worked through the menu, getting a couple of bowls, fry bread, ribs, soup, and dessert. Everything we tried was very thoughtfully made, tasting both unique and familiar. I really liked the ribs, they were worth the wait and the hassle. The locale is unassuming, looking like a fast casual mix of Chipotle and Taco Bell. The staff was super chill and helpful with recommendations. Definitely check them out if you haven't!

Quick service food but extremely fresh and flavorful. We had Indian Tacos- one with shredded bison and one with ground bison. We also tried a few different salsa options. The best part was definitely the fresh fry bread and wajapi dipping sauce! I came here 14 years ago on a road trip and was so happy to come back and enjoy it again!! The server was extremely kind and welcomed us when we told him we were back after many years. Can't wait for my next trip back to Denver.

Would definitely recommend! The flavors of the food were immaculate, I would go here over chipotle anytime. They have a bunch of different ways you can eat the food-- plates or bowls. Then you can build out your meal. My only note is that I wish that you weren't limited to two toppings, it'd be nice if you could get as many as you want. You have to get fry bread!

It is a rare treat to have the honor to eat at an establishment like Tocabe. I am so fortunate. I have been hoping to get to come here someday. What a feeling to walk into a fully Indigenous business and be in Community. Thank you, Tocabe. And for all patrons it is a gorgeous welcoming space. The food is fresh, delicious and amazing. And they offer vegetarian protein entrees!! I had the signature Indian Taco, vegetarian version. I chose the seeds to go with it and it was such a treat. My companions chose nachos. These plates were large potions. We also got dessert fry bread nuggets. So good. They serve Bow and Arrow beer which was a great find, love the Native collab. The place was hopping and we were here at an off hour. Eat good, feel good, support local, support Native American.

I had been wanting to try Tocabe for a while, and I especially love their philosophy, "Native first, local second." In addition to supporting small business owners, eating at Tocabe also supports the American Indian community and local farmers--a triple win! Servers were very helpful. When ordering, the first question asked was, "Have you dined with us before?" Our server recommended the Indian Taco plate, as it featured fry bread and a choice of meat and toppings. The plates are heaping, so be sure to go hungry or take some home for later. The fry bread is pillowy and delicious, and a good base for the ingredients. I like to be adventurous when I try a new place, so I selected the braised shredded bison (tender and flavorful), served with roasted green chiles and hot tomato sauce. The hot tomato is no joke with the habanero chile and jalapeño, so add a drizzle of sour cream and ancho chipotle to temper it a bit. Food is ordered in an assembly line style, and you take it to many of the tables throughout the space.

Fantastic place! You can't go wrong with fry bread, ever. I opted for the Indian Taco. This comes with fry bread on the bottom, your choice of protein - I went for the chicken, but the shredded bison also looked yummy - cheddar cheese, and two salsas of your choosing. They offer so many options for your meal construction, you literally just have to Tocabe and see for yourself. Tocabe, while it may seem familiar in terms of set up and ordering, specializes in Native American cuisine. We dined in and the place was very well kept, tables were clean, and the bussing area was cleared frequently. The staff helped us order since this was out first visit and I much appreciated the suggestions given to us. Yes to Tocabe!

Tocabe is hands-down our go-to place in Denver, and it never disappoints. Every visit reminds us why this spot is so special. The food is incredible--fresh, flavorful, and made with so much care--and the menu is truly one of a kind. It's not just a meal, it's an experience you don't find very often anywhere, let alone in the city. This year we even chose Tocabe for our anniversary dinner, which says a lot about how much we love it. The atmosphere is welcoming, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and everything feels intentional and authentic. You can tell they take pride in what they do, and it absolutely shows in every bite. If you're looking for something unique, memorable, and consistently amazing, Tocabe is a must. Whether it's your first visit or your tenth, it always feels special. Denver is lucky to have a place like this!

Stopped here for a quick bite before going to the airport. It was recommended to us and pitched as Indian cuisine Chipotle and really really tasty. It did not disappoint! The staff was helpful in explaining the items and helping us choose. The service was quick and friendly when they brought stuff out to the tables. The restaurant was basic but good - very clean, good restrooms, comfortable tables / chairs. The food was incredible! Very saucy, very savory, some sweetness, lots of exciting new flavors. And the bread thing was so so yummy even for someone not very into breads.

This place is fantastic. I've never been anywhere like it and really excited to see one in DIA now as well. It's set up like a chipotle- you choose your base and meat and build your bowl. I loved the bison and the pomegranate sauce! Flavors are amazing and it's affordable.

Went a second time to try the Indian Taco. Brought some friends this time. The same person was working, her name is Heather! Indian Taco was even better than the bowl, which I didn't think could be beat. I've never had frybread and it was so yummy. They loaded it up too! I really like the habanero butternut squash topping. It was a little busier this time around but more than enough seating and quick service! This will definitely be a lunch staple when I'm working in that area.

Yes please sign me the heck up. These were great, so much so I ordered two. Definitely a must at Billy's. We ordered A LOT of appetizers for the table. Honestly some of them were just okay/nothing special, however I wanted to call out the chips and salsa. Simple yet delicious. Crispy chips and salsa with tons of flavor. Chicken Enchiladas ($19) // Three corn tortillas, chile de arbol roasted chicken, billy's cheese, enchilada sauce, shredded lettuce, diced onion, pico de gallo, crema, guacamole, cilantro lime rice, black beans. Get in my belly! I love me some enchiladas and these filled me up and satisfied me. I thought the accompanying rice and beans were delicious too. A massive plate of food for what you pay for. Friendly service, good food, strong drinks, and neighborhood vibes. I don't think you'll be blown away, but this is the type of reliable spot everyone wants near them. Almost 100 years in business, clearly they know what they're doing. Billy's Inn for the win!

The "Restaurant Kid" Litmus Test: Parisi Passes with Flying Colors…read more On my first day in Denver, a childhood friend took me to lunch at Parisi, though he was admittedly a bit apprehensive. Having grown up with Italian heritage on both sides and parents who owned an Italian restaurant, I am notoriously hard to please when it comes to authentic cuisine. He was worried I'd be overcritical; instead, I was completely charmed. Located in a quaint, quiet neighborhood, Parisi offers the kind of authenticity that is rare to find. Here is why it earned a perfect score from a tough critic: The Main Course: The Tagliatelle Ragu was balanced and traditional--exactly what you want from a high-caliber kitchen. The "Woodfire" Factor: The aroma of the woodfire pizza oven hits you the moment you walk in. While we opted to eat inside rather than on the lovely patio, those scents alone convinced me that I have to return specifically for the pizza next time. The Grand Finale: I had to finish the meal with my favorite, Stracciatella gelato. It was the perfect creamy, artisanal end to a fantastic lunch. The service was seamless, the ambiance was inviting, and the food spoke for itself. If you're looking for a spot that feels like a true slice of Italy in the middle of Denver, this is it. I'll definitely be back to tackle that pizza menu!
