This place gave me the best manicure of my life!! Today's Nail Salon is owned and operated by a very sweet family of excellent nail technicians! I got a gel manicure from the daughter, and a regular pedicure from the mom. Both were excellent, fast, and really relaxing. However, the manicure was (is) next level. It looks beautiful and really sharp, but it has lasted me without a single chip (I shit you not) for TWELVE (12) days!!! This includes an eight-hour day of cleaning. I had a male nail tech and he was very fast. A little rough when filing my sides, which caused a little irritation but nothing major (hence the four starts). I'll definitely be coming back! Completely sold on this place! First of all, they now have a sign listing all services and pricing, so no worries there. Prices are competitive with other salons in the city. I popped in there today, kind of on a whim. No appointment. Had to wait like 15 minutes while the tech finished up another manicure, no big deal. The tech who worked with me was David and I adored him. When I first came in, I said I just wanted a gel manicure, but then when he was ready to do my nails, I changed my mind to a full acrylic set with gel polish- he was totally cool with that. They were almost out of the polish I picked (a sparkly red for the 4th of July) so he helped me pick another similar color that I love. I just wanted a red so he didn't have to help, but I appreciated it all the same. He worked quickly and efficiently on my manicure. It has been almost 10 years since I got my nails done, having been turned off by the electric filers cutting up my cuticles. David didn't cut me at all. And when I say I was turned off by that before, I mean it happened repeatedly on almost every finger, multiple techs, multiple salons, all people just rushing to get done, but not David. Once I was done, another lady rang me up. I didn't catch her name, but she was very polite and apologized that they were out of the color I had originally picked. As I left I saw David ordering more of the color too. Will absolutely be recommending this place to my friends! read more

I have gone to this salon about 6 times over the last few years. Bottom line: they do good work, but the main manger has a really salty attitude (the young lady dresses like a tomboy), and every time I go in there she says there's no appointments and when I do get in, I am talked to like a child. Not worth it- I 'm too grown for that nonsense. Go to Tommy's salon on Columbus, near the Wawa. They do a great job, and it's a huge salon and everyone is really nice. Also my gel mani and pedi was $10 less than Today's Nail Salon prices which is pricey. You don't need an appointment. And free parking! read more

I've been to this salon a few times - first about a year ago to remove my UV gel set, and then to apply and maintain an acrylic set. I've never had an appointment but have never waited long. Each time, they've done a great job. I like my nails in an almond shape which requires significant filing, but they take the time to make sure it's all even. Even when I came in a little too close to closing time, the girl didn't rush and do a shoddy job. I've had this acrylic set for almost three months and haven't had a single nail chip or break (knock on wood) - and I'm clumsy as hell and type for a living, so that's saying something. Today will be my third fill. A lot of the people who come in also seem to know everyone who works there - lots of regulars are a good sign! I like that they have movies playing, since you can't exactly play on your phone or read when you're getting a manicure. And they're all really friendly and attentive. The only thing I'm not a super fan of is that some of their equipment looks like it's *slightly* worse for wear. But overall a great family-run salon. read more

I've been to many nail salons and I'm very particular about my nails -Today's Nails is one of the best salons I've ever been to. Almost all of their customers are regulars which speaks to the quality and consistency of the services they provide. Prices are reasonable considering the urban location and the salon is always clean and organized. I've always been happy with their expansive polish selection. Saturdays get very busy and without an appointment the wait can be more than an hour so be sure to call ahead. Be aware that the salon is not open on Sundays. There is always a movie playing on the TVs and the volume is sometimes a little high for my taste. This makes reading difficult but is a small price to pay for the excellent service and welcoming friendly environment. When I first moved to South Philly I was so worried I wouldn't be able to find a good nail salon, but I was wrong! Today's Nails is the best salon I have ever been to! The entire staff is friendly and courteous. They go above and beyond to keep the place extremely clean and sanitary, which is what I mainly look for in a salon. I don't get acrylic nails, just gel manicures and a spa pedicure. I always see Sil, she is the best! Not only is she friendly, but she does an incredible job. I went to other salons in the past for gel manicures, but they just didn't look as nice when I left. They are very busy l the time, so I have to call ahead to make an appointment, but Sil is always so great at working with my schedule. I think their prices are very fair for the results you receive. I've been getting my nails done here for over 15 years. Hanna, David and their family are amazing and never disappoint. The quality of their work is top notch. The shop is clean clean clean, which is crazy important. I'm serious about my eyebrows and Hanna is the only person I'll let near them. She also does a great job at finding and tweezing those pesky chin hairs that keep popping up (and I somehow never see.) I have been going here for about a year now, and I can honestly say it's one best salon experiences I've ever had. They're by appointment only so keep that in mind. That is because it is a small family owned and operated. Think three massage chairs for pedicures and most days only three people working. But the owners do an amazing job and give you a good experience. You are never rushed and easily feel at home and entertained with the movies always playing in the background. I love the formulas they keep in stock and the fact that they are consistently getting new colors. My usual is a gel refill and pedicure and am always happy with my results. I always peek to see Syl and David doing acrylic nails of various shapes and designed and get jealous that I simply can't live that life. Although the work is worth admiring. If you become a regular they will give you your own box with a files and accessories (No need to worry about fungus here!). This is my go-to nail spot. They get pretty busy in the summer time but you are never left sitting there waiting for long periods of time. Extremely accommodating and everyone is super friendly. The salon is very clean also. They stay up to date on all the new polish colors, and trends and pricing is affordable. One other plus, is they are usually showing a movie instead of crappy soap-operas or news. You may miss the beginning or the end, but sitting there waiting to dry is more bearable for those that are less patient, like myself! They even give out little gifts around Christmas time! I just went there for a mani/pedi. The girl starts scrubbing my feet and scrubbing so hard she took skin off. I started to bleed. She pretended not to notice and stuck my foot back in the water (which had salts in it or something to turn it blue). I pulled my foot out and was like ow! Instead of a bandaid, she used something to stop the blood with ALCOHOL. OW! Had to ask again for a bandaid! I decided to forgo the manicure and they tried to charge me FULL price! Bleeding! I demanded a discount and they gave me $5 off. After the owner tried to pull the bandaid off my FOOT to see if I really was cut! Unbelievable. Please do not go to this place. My foot is so sore I LIMPED HOME and it cost me $20! AVOID AVOID AVOID!! read more

This is my one and only salon for my nails, waxing, and pedicure. I live at the shore in the summer months and travel 1 1/2 hours back to the city just to have Hanna take care of my nails. Men and women of all ages go there. The salon is owned by a very nice, warm family. It is very clean and comfortable. There may be a little wait when u get there, but its worth the wait, because they take their time with you. Remember there is a reason why they are busy and other salons are not not. read more

I used to go to Violet (across from the Acme), mostly due to proximity to my house, for my nails and eyebrows waxings. I was looking for a nicer nail salon (with pedicure chairs that aren't broken and in the basement), so I decided to try Today's Nails, just down the street. This place is so much better than Violet. They only do nails/waxing (not hair) and the space is larger and more comfortable. They play movies on their two large screen tvs! So nice! I think everyone who works here is related - mom, dad, and kids. More expensive than Violet, but totally worth it. read more
