The assistants and surgeon were all extremely capable, kind, and deft. My procedure was far less painful (emotionally and physically) than I had imagined it would be! Truly an inspiration in many ways. Thank you Austin Oral Surgery for being the best.

AVOID AVOID AVOID - Austin Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Associates!…read moreIN MY OPINION, this office engages in fraudulent billing practices. Having undergone 13 surgeries (today would have been my 14th), I know how medical facilities operate--and balance billing is an old, ugly trick I'm all too familiar with. After filling out endless online registration forms (seriously, "War and Peace" level paperwork), I still had more forms to complete when I arrived. I even planted the seed with the front desk, verifying I was in-network. They confirmed I was. But once I was called back--SURPRISE!--I was suddenly told I'm NOT in-network. This, after they had days to verify my insurance and contact me. Oh, and they casually mentioned they "don't verify insurance in-house." Based on Yelp reviews, this is a pattern with this office. Their billing practices are shady, misleading, and, in my experience, downright fraudulent. Now, I'm in intense pain, scrambling to find an actual in-network oral surgeon--meanwhile, UnitedHealthcare's provider directory is about 10% accurate (being generous). HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. If you need oral surgery, DO NOT GO HERE! Austin Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Associates, please do not post an "EMPAHY COMMENT" change the ways you conduct BUSINESS

The staff even helped pave the way for my son to begin establishing credit by recommending CareCredit! The nurse and Dr Ricardo Garza were stellar in making the whole process bearable-they even had a thoughtful and ingenious contraption for home use in securing ice packs to the face! I was absolutely impressed how Dr Garza called the following day and was genuinely concerned if things were healing as expected. Dr Garza is a gifted surgeon and so generous with his time. I am honored to have met him and if you are ever in need of an oral or maxillofacial surgeon, book an appointment with Dr Ricardo Garza. You will experience the best care and bedside manner at Oral Surgery Specialists of Austin.

Dr Flint himself is a GEM. He's as smart as they get - did you know he went to FULL medical and dental schools (most go to an abbreviated med school after dental school)- but he's so friendly and down to earth! My daughter's procedure went smoothly and we were in and out of there quickly. Dr Flint and his staff were extremely responsive to questions we had after we got home during her recovery as well. I cannot say enough about this team! Go to them!

Zarroug, he was in significant pain and repeatedly asked for more anesthetic. At one point, the doctor told him, "I should have had you put to sleep for this." The experience was frightening and traumatic. About two hours later, the bleeding became severe and we had to return to the office for additional anesthetic and stitches. We left determined not to return. Unfortunately, our dentist recommended Dr. Andrea Quaroni for the remaining extractions. He was much kinder and more reassuring, and we chose sedation. However, less than two hours after getting home, the bleeding became severe again, with gauze becoming saturated within minutes. We ended up calling an after-hours dentist, who offered to see him that night and mentioned having dealt with other after-hours issues involving this clinic. We understand bleeding can happen after extractions, but after specifically explaining what happened the first time, we expected much more attention to preventing a repeat situation. The office is also extremely aggressive about payment and prepayment, which makes the experience even more frustrating. On that same topic of them wanting to be paid so badly I ask who pays for the pain and suffering as blood runs literally from my partners mouth 12 hours later, are they gonna pay for my gas if I have to drive 30 minutes in the middle of the night... After two difficult experiences, we are done with this location. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere, especially for anyone who is anxious about dental work. Avoid the 38th Street location.
