I hired Todd to host my murder mystery party for an anniversary. Watching Todd bungle my event dawned over me during my event; it was like watching a nightmare unfold. He didn't greet guests; he didn't bring props; he approached me to help him manage the group multiple times so I had to break out of character and do his job. Many of my friends commented on how lackluster, un-engaging, and confusing his behavior was. Rather than creating a lively and interactive ambiance, he simply read directly from a boxed kit's script without making eye contact or injecting any personalization or humor into the event. He certainly didn't do any extras like help with set-up and break-down. Despite charging a rate of $2,000, there was no evidence of any customization or effort to make the event unique to my anniversary celebration. He failed to acknowledge or even mention the anniversary during the event. The few interactions I had with him, I felt like his demeanor was awkward, lacking authority, and unprepared--certainly not what I would expect from a professional entertainer. I absolutely should have interviewed him in person beforehand--I could have avoided an embarrassing and disappointing experience and saved a lot of money. I would not recommend Mr. Elliot to anyone and would never engage his services again. read more

I found Todd's company the day of my company's event. I had booked a stilt walker three and a half weeks in advance; however, once booked they never contacted me again. I then found a stilt walker a week and a half before the event, who texted me at 10:00 PM the night before to let me know she hurt herself and couldn't do the event. Not only did Todd get a performer to me within hours of me contacting him, but he got the COI to me within an hour and the performer he sent (Chris), was absolutely fantastic. We used Todd Elliot specifically for some private dance lessons for our first dance at our wedding. We ran into Todd about a week before our wedding and the day after we decided to figure out our first dance. The first dance was something we hadn't given much thought to and then when we were narrowing down to our final song choices we discovered how truly long three or even four minutes felt when you are slow dancing in front of a bunch of people who are just watching you. We ran into Todd at the communal table at Scopa and after hearing more about his services hired him for a couple hours of dance lessons. We practiced at the communal room near his residence which was a decent space for us to move around. We ended up creating our own song medley for the first dance and with neither of us being dancers we didn't want complicated choreography. Todd showed us some moves we could use during each segment and helped us put it together (so he had to accomodate two slow songs with Into the Mystic and Learning to Fly and three faster songs with Billie Jean, Footloose, and Read My Mind). After the first hour we had a fairly good idea of what to do during our first dance and felt confident it would be meaningful to us and not incredibly boring to watch.
