Imagine my surprise when, after placing my order, I receive a call from the Fair Avenue DQ telling me they cannot make my cake. I assume I was speaking to the manager, who told me they don't "do" top and bottom blizzard cakes. I asked why not--I've ordered them for years. She replied that is wasn't possible and no one could do them. She told me that they had never done them (despite mine having ordered them from this location before). I was told my memory was false. She told me not to bother calling the East Main location because they wouldn't do them either. I hung up and placed my order at another DQ. The line was short, maybe 1-2 customers ever ahead of me whether inside or via the drive thru. I had to rattle off coupon codes through the drive thru for a buy one croissan'wich get one free, and almost every time, they couldn't hear me through the drive thru speaker. However, they did accept my coupons and were kind in giving a courtesy water when asked. The morning breakfast orders were correct, except for one instance, then they gave me a sausage croissan'wich instead of a ham croissan'wich. The other time of day I frequently visited was during the late evening, right before 10 pm when the indoor lobby closes. Disturbingly, employees were hanging out, outside close to the business entrance (doors) smoking and on their smartphones visiting with other co-workers/friends during their working shift. When they see you (the customer) they scramble and go back inside to take your order. One December evening, a girl inside taking my order said "My dad just texted me. Hold on." She continued to text on her phone while taking my order. I'll occasionally return to this Burger King, for the fact that it is convenient and the line is always shorter than McDonalds that is next door. Another reason I will return is I enjoy the savings from the print and coupons offered on the Burger King app.
