I swear to God I loathe finding new nail techs, Helen was also off, and being some dude was working the front desk that I didn't recognize I suspected they might have changed ownership so I left. At Toi Spa The girl who was assigned to me was Lee. PROS: - thorough job, although she didn't use one of the tools I am accustomed to. - very friendly. - nice modern spa CONS: - the creams they use have a potent strong chemical smell, which had a negative effect on my nasal passages. It probably doesn't bother anyone else but I'm very sensitive to chemical smells. - I'm used to seeing the techs bring their tools in a sealed bag, and I didn't see it this time around at Toi. - Although a nice spa, they seem to advertise as if they are luxurious. It's generally a clean spa, but I noticed a few little things, and it's not as spotless I would expect. - During the pedicure Lee did not soak my hands which I found to be odd. - Lee did awesome work on the soles of my feet, its been so long since my last pedicure the soles of my feet literally looked like a komodo dragons talons. Because of the negative effect of the strong chemical smell of their creams, I cannot return. read more

Today's service was a disaster!!! I always would come into to the salon with an appointment with TEE, I loved it so much my mom started coming in with her too. Around May I saw an Instagram post from TEE saying she was no longer doing nails. So my mom and I starting trying out other nail techs. I had made an appointment for today with Lisa because I saw how great she did nail designs, but I saw how bad my mom wanted to go in. I gave her my appointment. When she comes home she is extremely angry because Lisa had disrespected her. My mom explained she took off the dip, didn't file to remove all old dip and was going to put another dip over it. Filed two of her nails deep on a side. And when my mom said enough I don't want the service anymore she apologies. My mom then decides to just put regular polish, which she applied as if she was angry. This is unacceptable, I don't know how my mom accepted that kind of behavior. I'm really mad that this happen and I would stop coming to the salon completely. Toi is my go to Spa. I have been to the locations in Fort Lauderdale, Plantation, and Davie. I have had amazing experiences at all locations. All of the Nail Artists take their time and are precise. Love that they always bring the color all the way to the cuticle, I have also had my eye brows waxed and all locations do a great job. I usually visit this salon every 4 + weeks as a treat and have booked the gel manicure, no message every single time online. Today, it was a bit busy and I forgot to confirm the service I would receive. The young woman, Ann, did a great job with my nails but noticed she gave me the full message/gel manicure. She obviously didn't know either which service I booked. Another observation was the work station I was sitting in. The nail lamps and light fixtures were covered in so much dust. A thorough wipe down was in order and I was glad I had a mask on since I'm allergic to dust. Their website has its own tab for Pink and White nails. I scheduled an appt with Kenny, it says he "Specializes in Pink and White". I get there, no appt with Kenny, was told the computer sometimes does that. I have the email confirmation still. Was handed off to someone else who tried to talk me into Dip nails. No Thankyou, that's not what I scheduled the appt for. Then ended up with Lisa. Lisa said she could do my nails and I could paint them any color later on if I wanted. Ok, fine, as long as I get my pink and white nails that I booked. Well, I got regular acrylic nails with gel French manicure polish for the same price as pink and white. She said I won't be able to find anyone who does pink and white anymore. ITS ON THEIR WEBSITE!!! I have 2 salons walking distance from my house that do it. I went there because I was referred there. I told her to just do my nails because I was going on vacation and didn't have time to schedule another appt somewhere else. Her reply was how I was taking up her time. She couldn't find the pink acrylic that wasn't really pink. The white started chipping off the next day. I was not happy but I didn't have time to stay and deal with it. Front desk was no help at all, she said she had no idea what pink and white was and couldn't do anything about what happened because she has to charge what Lisa put in the computer. Again, its on their website AND in their brochure that they do Pink and White, has its own little section for it. I sent an email to the owner and never got a reply, not even from a manager. Well I was looking forward to a relaxing time. It was super rushed appointment. I got dazzle dry mani pedi. It already has begun to chip and I just got it done yesterday. I won't be returning. Everyone seemed rude. I'm 2 weeks postpartum really disappointed just want my money back to go somewhere else but I doubt that happens. I just want everyone to know how bad this is. This is my go-to nail salon. I can kick myself for not coming here sooner. One of my very good friends is a regular here, and when I asked for a recommendation for a new salon, and when she suggested Toi, I was a little hesitant. I wasn't convinced about spending more than $50 for a mani and pedi. I decided to give it a shot and I won't go anywhere else. They are located on University Drive just south of Griffin Road in the plaza on the east side of the road where the Subway is next to the former pizzeria. When I walked in, I was taken aback at how abnormally clean this place is. The floors are pristine and you can tell that they take pride in the way their establishment looks. If you have an appointment, you won't be waiting long. There are many technicians that are good. My go-to is Linh (I've posted pics of her gel manicures), but I've gotten dip manicures with Lisa, who is phenomenal. My good friend goes to Yami or Lisa. Any one of the technicians will do the trick, honestly. As they are all proficient in what they do. I always do the gel manicures, as the dip powder ruins my nails. I have long (natural) nails and I find that the gel manicures are the best way at keeping the texture and length at a healthy manner. The pedicure chairs are super relaxing and I love the fact that they have an array of colors. That's one of the tidbits that I loved about Toi. I've done the toi pedicure, and although it was relaxing, it wasn't worth the money. The regular pedicure is the best. Regardless of the prices, I find that this is one of the better nail salons I've been to, as they are clean, efficient and extremely friendly and proficient. All of the technicians are great. Both visits in the past month have been wonderful. I had a pedicure in a private room one visit and the other my pedicure took place in the front room with every other chair blocked off and frequent cleaning occurred. The collagen pedicure was relaxing and moisturizing for my legs and feet. The sole searching pedicure is my favorite- exfoliating, callus removal and an extra long massage! I was charged a design fee for getting a different color on each nail. There is no design, each nail is a solid colour. They also up charged me for non-traditional shape, I have square nails. Will not be going back after my last three sets have been horrible. I have been going to this nail salon near my house for the past 2 years and these last few months my experience have been horrible. I usually get my nails done by Lisa All and her designs are amazing but her bedside manner are horrible and she is always rushing. So bad that my finger hurt after my sets due to her abrasiveness. In addition I noticed that her nail design prices just keep going up and up ever set. For example a dip with no extension and Soak off is 85$ dollars, listen I'm all about paying for quality and clearly I've been going to her a while but when the nails don't last a week... we have a problem. My nails keep lifting from the base so bad that it's not just one it's 3/4 nails. I tried another nail tech and the dip with design was 85$ and the top coat lifted after day 3 and the tip of the nail cracked. I called to speak to manager and left a message, no one called me back. I honestly didn't want them to offer me any discounts or free sets it was to simply tell them they have an issue and they need to slow down. A dip service that says 45 min on their website Lisa does in 25/30 min clearly she is not taking her time. I referred about 4/5 of my friends and it's a shame I will be warning them about this place. Save yourself the hassle and find a smaller nail shop who worries about you as a paying customer not this big nail chain who is in it for the quantity. read more

I have been coming here for a few years. They are very accommodating to walk ins. It's not a spa It's a nail salon. I don't know if it's my luck. But I ways seem to be here when woman bring their young children with them. It tends to not be as relaxing as one would hope. I just am distracted when I hear children talk. I started off with almost no nail length at all and after a couple of weeks of seeing Yami my nails have grown so long that we had to file them down. The place is always impeccable and the timing is perfect, there is never a week of more than a few minutes which is extremely important when you are on a time crunch like a lunch break. I have been seeing Yami now for the last two months and she is absolutely amazing. She's fast and impeccable with her work. The only time my polish lasts for 3 to 4 weeks without a chip or a break is when she does my nails. I don't know what her technique is but she is the best.
