Toi Spa has multiple locations (e.g., Coral Springs, Fort Lauderdale, Coconut Creek, etc.) all of which I have been to but the one on University is my favorite!! They are a pricey nail salon but very worth the money. The nail techs take their time and you get quality service each time. When I want a gel mani/regular pedi my go to is JC. She is amazing. She takes her time and my mani's last weeks. She is super sweet. This time I went to get a full set and pedicure with Kenny. This was my first appointment out of quarantine and Kenny did not disappoint. He did a great job at really listening to how I wanted the length of my nails and how I wanted them shaped (I like a very natural shape). I'm also not about using the drill on my natural nails and he used it just enough to glue the nail. Kenny is awesome and highly recommend him if you're looking for acrylic. My sister also came with me and she did nail art with a collagen mani/volcano pedi. Her nail tech was Ann. I have never had Ann but my sister cannot stop raving about her. She felt very pampered and Ann did an excellent job. We were very satisfied with our experience and would recommend anyone switching over to this nail salon. I originally went back thinking I was going to the same location that messed me up in the first place, but I ended up at the Davie location instead of the plantation location where I originally went to. I didn't realize this until later . Regardless, they took care of me. (Although the manager made sure to mention, they didn't have to accommodate me at this location, but did anyway for me-(which in my opinion was unnecessary when you represent the same company) But whatever, each their own right? Although the receptionist was very nice and sweet I was extremely disappointed with my experience. I waited for my appointment for 15 minutes later a woman came to do my nails since I didn't request someone in particular. She asked me what color nails I wanted then while I was picking she went to the receptionist and said "I don't want to do her nails" which was said right in front of me. Not only was I extremely offended by this but this shows that she had no respect which I don't tolerate. I saw that the place was packed so I didn't cause a problem but later on she acted like normal but kept rolling her eyes which is extremely inappropriate I did report this to the salon but I wanted my complaint to be clear that this treatment is disgusting. I've never had an issue, there are photos of the nail techs in case you don't remember someone's name, it's quick and easy. Just love that. Secondly, the cleanliness. The salon is always clean. They use brand new files and buffers. The pedicure tubs are always lined. Everything is always so clean. Finally, the nail techs. All of them are amazing. Came in last weekend for a dazzle dry mani and pedi and had a great experience. Kim was kind and did a great job on my nails. I wanted to try dazzle dry over gel or dip because I don't love using the UV light to cure for gel or having to soak my nails in acetone and scrape the gel or dip off. I have been to Toi Spa Davie twice now. The first time I got dip powder on my fingers with a pedi and lash lift. The second time I got dip powder on my fingers with a gel polish change on my toes. Both times I have gotten my nails done, the techs were friendly, did a good job, and gave me exactly what I asked. So why only 2 stars, you ask? Well here's my issue with Toi Spa...both times I have gone, they have overcharged me for something I did not get. From past bad experiences at other salons, I have learned to ask the price both before getting my nails done, and then again after they are done but before paying. This has become standard for me, yet for some reason I forgot to do this the first time I came to Toi. So when it was time to pay, when they told me the price, it sounded reasonable for what I got, so I paid. It wasn't until later that day I was doing the math in my head and realized something was not adding up. I called back the next day. Without mentioning that I was in there the day before, I simply asked how much dip powder and a pedi (with regular polish, not gel) would cost. Sure enough, the employee gave me a price that was $10 less than what I paid the previous day. That's when I explained to her that I was there the previus day and paid $10 more than that. The lady put me on hold to check with the tech and...shocker!...I was right, they overcharged me $10. They charged me for a soak off even though I did not get a soak off and for something else I cannot remember. They refunded me $10. Fast forward to my second visit a few days ago...I learned my lesson from last time and asked the total price of my services before they started. I was told $75. Cool. When it was time to pay, I was told $95. Huh?! Where did this extra $20 come from? When I mentioned this to the employee, she went to go check with the tech if the charge was correct. She comes back and...shocker!...she made a "mistake," I owe $90 instead of $95. She claimed that she accidentally charged me for a nail re-shaping (which is when they file your nails a different shape then they already were) but the tech said I did not get a re-shaping. I said umm ok that explains $5 but what about the extra 15 bucks you're saying I owe? She said the rest is for the design I got plus gel. I was still confused bc the "design"...if you can even call it that...I got is not worth 15 dollars. I know it isn't bc it's the exact same way I got my nails done the first time I came to Toi and it did not cost $15. I was also confused at how she "accidentally" charged me for a nail re-shaping in the first place. Does she just automatically include that with everyone? Did she not check with the tech first before telling me the price? So many questions. Oh and when I got the itemized receipt there was a $2 "COVID supply" charge that was not explained to me. I asked what that charge was and was told they add that to every service bc they have a professional cleaning crew clean/sanitize every night. Umm were you not cleaning every night before COVID? Lol. I personally don't think customers should have to pay for that. Plus you're telling me that the cleaning crew costs so much that you have to charge $1-2 on everyone's bill? It's so small that most would not care but these fees add up. But whatever, at that point I was over it and just decided in my mind I wouldn't be back. I really think they overcharge on purpose. One time is a mistake, twice is not. Overcharging clients $5-10 is such an insignificant amount that most would not even realize it or care, but if you do that enough times everyday that's a nice chunk of change for them! At worst, it's done purposely; at best, they are sloppy when adding up services which result in frequent mistakes. Either way it's a no for me. I have nothing against the nail techs and the work they do, they were all nice and professional. But I cannot in good conscience recommend Toi unless you are OK with scrutinizing every dime before paying. Also...random...but last time I was there, there were so many flies inside it was a real turn off. I understand you cannot control everything, but other nail salons I frequent do not have flies buzzing around, so clearly there is a way to prevent this. read more

Great recommendation. So far I've been twice. Each time I was a walk in and had an appointment with an unknown technician. The first time I went was good. I got tips and dip both for the first time. The guy did a good job in my opinion and they lasted a while. After that occasion I went to a different place that was slightly less expensive - big mistake! The dip chipped and within a week my nails looked like they grew way too much. After two weeks I went back to ToiSpa. The second time I got Bee. I will 100% continue to make appointments with him! I am not sure why it has taken me so long to visit here. I have lived across the street for a year and finally made it in. I needed a manicure bad and had enough of the last place I was getting waxed at so I decided to stop in when my clients cancelled. Unfortunately, it was a holiday so they were booked. The young woman at the front desk was very friendly and personable. She answered all my questions and offered to book me another day. Unfortunately, my schedule was completely booked for the following couple of days so I planned to come back. I returned a couple days later, when meetings and clients cancelled, as a walk in and no appointment made. I was in luck! They were able to take me an hour before closing for a bikini was and gel manicure. I knew they their prices were the steepest in the area so that is probably why I have not visited previously (I am a PhD student and school owns my soul so not a lot of $). I like places that are one stop shopping. They provide everything here except for for hair services. I was offered water or tea while I waited to be summoned. I took the water from the fridge but it was rather warm so I saved it for later. I was given samples of nail colors to choose while I waited. I was greeted by Michelle C. Michelle offered me choose what service I wanted first and I let her decide. She then led me to a manicure section. The color I intended to have was black with silver sparkles. I chose Night Sky because that looked the closest to what I imagined. As Michelle our the first coat on, we both realized it was a clear polish with sparkles. It was awesome because Michelle knew exactly what I was expecting. She quickly went to search for black polish and tried again. She worked her magic and it was perfect! After, I was led to the waxing room and given instructions. So I usually do just the bikini and have always avoided doing the Brazilian. I never saw the purpose because my crack is not exposed usually and did not know what to expect. I was told by numerous people that it does not hurt but I was still hesitant. This whole experience was awkward because you (the customer) are the one who has to hold your skin back for them to get in crevices. I am used to the esthetician to move everything since they are the one doing the deed. It did not hurt and Michelle made a comment about me being good with pain lol. I get dressed and make my way to the front desk. My bill was $86! Wtf?!! I knew the wax was $50, which was a very reasonable price. I was charged for soaking off my existing gel, which I waited so long to get my nails done, there was only half the polish on my nails lol. I have never been charged for that before so I thought that was a complete scam. I go to tip and was informed that cash is only accepted for tips. I asked if they were going to be open for 15 minutes so I could run to get cash quick but the woman at the desk told me to come the following day and not to worry. Overall, the experience was relaxing and I am planning to indulge in other services, such as a facial and massage. I will definitely come back for waxing but $36 for a gel manicure?!?! Nope! GIVING THIS EVEN A 1 STAR IS GENEROUS. First of all, I booked an acrylic full set which is originally $47.00 on their website. Mimi, my nail tech, was very rough with my hands and she added gel to my nails even though that is a $20.00 up-charge. I was never notified that she was doing gel and when I went to checkout they insisted i paid $67.00!!! Obviously I was confused and the lady at the front was very nice and understanding about the situation, and when Mimi was asked if she told me there was a $20.00 up-charge, she had no reply and simply walked away. I was scammed by this company and not only that, my nails were not what i asked for, they look awful and even after telling my nail tech what shape and length I wanted she continued to rush and do what was quick and easy for her. When I left I was bleeding and the skin around my nail is still peeling and ripping. I am devastated because my anniversary is tomorrow and I was getting my nails done to take pictures with a new ring. This was my first visit here since before Covid and it was a comfortable visit. Clients are spaced adequately apart and my pedicure was done in a separate room alone from others. There were a lot less staff and customers than in normal times. Everyone is required to wear masks and sanitize hands upon entering. The stations are cleaned between each visit. Bee gave a great relaxing mani/pedi and was friendly. I hope they get more busy again soon. They have a nice clean environment and the nail techs are very professional. I decided to give up my normal salon due to change in staffing. So I decided to give Toi a chance. I was helped pretty quickly for a Sunday morning. I probably waited about two minutes before I was greeted by my nail tech. She didn't speak much to me which I honestly wasn't in a talking mood so I definitely didn't mind. I saw a few other customers being offered something to drink. The customer next to me in the pedi station was offered tea and I saw her adding honey to it. I really tried not to do this. I got a dip mani and pedi on Monday with Susan, on Tuesday the dip started to leave my nails and cracked in some areas, I called Toi spa and told them about it and they agreed to give me an appt with Loan on Wednesday to get it fixed (points for that). Now, I'm not a professional but you'd think that if the dip is leaving the nail (and between the space captured makeup etc), it should be removed and redone... well, that was not the case. The second nail tech I saw proceeded to file the dip down, did another coat of dip etc. and to be honest the "fix" looks shittier than the first. The top coat is bumpy on most of my nails, none of the shapes match (sure they're all oval but it should be uniform), and on some nails the top coat is also uneven. If I pay $80 for a mani/pedi, I expect a damn good job! I'm very f**king disappointed. Photos are literally an hour after leaving the nail salon for the 2nd time. I'd rather have it removed and get my money back but now I have to go elsewhere and spend more $$ to get a better dip mani done. If you do go to this salon, get an appt with Simon. He did my first dip mani (which is why I returned but he was fully booked) and I loved it. He was so thorough, I loved it. read more
