Generally, I dread getting my nails done especially if there's a chance of knowing (and/or understanding) my given nail tech(s) is/are speaking not-so-kindly about fellow customers (I know it occurs more often than not and it's probably why I get my nails done as little as I can or become very picky on locations). But I digress, I just wanted to get my nails done before heading to Orlando yet it slipped my mind before my flight back to FL. Desperately, I spent an entire night researching on Yelp while my family slept soundly in their hotels beds before our drive to Orlando. I came across Toi Spa and scavenged through a few reviews and decided this was it. I stumbled on in about an hour after opening without an appointment on a Monday morning. Luckily, Toi Spa was able to squeeze me in. The receptionist apologized and said my nail tech is running a little late but it didn't matter to me as I was a random walk-in so I couldn't complain one bit. It was nice and clean with great ventilation (the smell of acetone makes me nauseous!). My nail artist's name was Johnny Nguyen. He was a bit quiet at first but slowly warmed up and we chatted most of our time together. At first, he did seem a tad unsure if he was able to create the design I found on Pinterest but I assured him he'd do great or can do whatever he's most comfortable with as an artist shouldn't have any limits. I admit to smudging my nails a few times. Yet, he swiftly fixed them without any verbal complaints. The results were beautiful. Perfect for spring! And now that I'm back home in Colorado... I am deeply saddened to not be able to have Johnny perform his magic on my nails again. However, I do truly appreciate and admire him for making my nail experience one of thee best ones to date. $62 for the "sole searching" 45 min pedi. The last Toi I went to was amazing and did a great job. This place, not so much. The pedicure was VERY basic and the lady didn't even do a great job. Not even a hot towel wrap. I feel so ripped off right now. I could have paid for the basic pedi. Then I couldn't even tip on my card, they wanted me to go around the corner to the wall to find the persons Venmo. Super inconvenient. Anything but a relaxing experience. I had a terrible experience here today. I came in to do my birthday nails and halfway through my appointment my tech left to do someone else's nails. The second tech (Luna) repeatedly ignored everything I mentioned and kept saying yes but not listening. The nail design does not match the inspo picture at all and my toe nails are all crooked and various lengths. I told the front desk I was not happy with my service and they took off the price of the design but I still somehow paid $145 for nails and service that I was extremely unhappy with. read more
