Great place for breakfast. A lot of food for the price. It gets pretty crowded. I'd come back for sure.

The breakfast platter of sorts (eggs, meats, and pancakes) that I got from Sunrise Grill was delicious and large in size. Carbed me up well in the morning before my race. It's like a Waffle House, but it's much cleaner. You don't get that feeling of getting herpes just by sitting down. Yes, the food came out in ok time. The food tasted meh and looked a bit depressing. I ordered the Humpty Dumpty and sausage biscuit gravy. The texture of the biscuit was pretty sad with oblivion. The omelette was about as bland as a piece of printer paper. I have to say that the English muffin was ok probably because they didn't make it. Just beware that you will get charged for minute things such as English muffin and using credit card. read more

Breakfast will always, always be my favorite meal...any time of day! But if I'm being honest, I enjoy it most for lunch and supper. I mean who wants to eat a plate sized slice of country ham and a biscuit smothered in white/sausage gravy with a scrambled egg (or two) and some grits with cheese at 5 in the morning? Not to mention if there's a slice of toast (cut diagonally of course) and some fruit. Of course you have to wash all that goodness down with a minimum of 2 cups of coffee (whatever the level of quality of those beans) and maybe even some sweet tea just for good measure. See? I told you it's a lot to be consuming before the sun ever peaks over the horizon. And so recently I made my way to Sunrise at noon, having not been in a few years. Per usual the place was hoping and folks were waiting for a spot to open. Now I'll mention that if you are solo or maybe just two of you that the barstool seating opens up quickly. But at this point in life I need the back of a chair and some privacy so I can fully enjoy this goodness. But I digress. The table is self sufficient in that it has hot sauce, salt and pepper, Smucker's jams and apple butter, napkins, and menus. They will bring out creamer and butter with your order. The menu is straightforward, but fully customizable. You want fried apples instead of grits? Or bacon instead of ham? Just ask. And the team here are like the family members you actually like. You know, the nice ones who always give good birthday presents and a piece of candy when no one's looking. Now there are a couple of televisions on the walls, but if you position yourself intentionally you avoid seeing them (and the volume is off). Like all good diners, this place is a cornucopia of people. I loved the diversity, but especially seeing older adults at tables and young (to me) couples at other tables. It truly felt like a reunion of sorts. I look forward to returning much soon then before. I hope you'll do the same. read more

Augusta doesn't have a great breakfast scene. So, you're sort of limited by what's available. This being said, Sunrise has quickly become one of my regular spots. The décor and setup are really nothing special. It's just sort of big room in strip mall. But if you can get past this you'll be in for a treat. What stands out most to me is how fast the food comes out. Man, I put my order in, glance at my phone and before I know it my food is out. I absolutely love how quickly the wait staff and kitchen function. Every time I've been here they've been on their A-game. My only gripe, is that I have found all of the proteins I've tried (the bacon, ham, chicken friend steak, sirloin steak, ham and sausage) to be underwhelming. And don't get me wrong, they're fine. But simply don't stand out when compared to the other aspects of my plate. The potatoes, eggs and grits are just fantastic. And again, they show up super fast! Both prices and portion sizes are very reasonable. Pro tip, at the time of this writing, there is a 10% of coupon you can use if you check in on Yelp. My next goal is to show up for lunch and try out that menu. I'd strongly recommend swinging by and grabbing a bite if you're hungry in the AM. I'd suggest being cautious on Sunday. Either come before or after the church crowd to avoid the chaos. I'll continue to frequent this spot. read more

I had been hearing about Sunrise Grill and so happy I stopped in for breakfast ASHLEY delivered the best service anyone could ask for. Our wait wasn't long at all, a spot opened up at the counter. I ordered scrambled eggs with cheese, bacon and wait for it, sweet potato pancakes! Two of them and they were to die for. My breakfast companion ordered an egg, bacon and grits with toast and they liked there's as well. I've been coming to Sunrise for years and have used them for catering services as well. I've never had any issues with the food and the prices are great. Most of the time I do not have to wait when dining in but there have been a few times I had to wait. The service is good at times and depending on who you get, it's amazing. The atmosphere is laid back and never too energetic. read more

My favorite place to get breakfast or brunch on the weekends. Even better if I have time to come on a weekday!! It's such a homey diner and the food really is perfection. Every time I come here my food comes out perfect. They have very basic breakfast items but it's done right every time. And the price is superb. One of the more unique items on the menu is the sweet potato pancake. If you've never tried it before, get it! And the home fries are so good too. French toast, regular pancakes, and grits are just average btw. But this place also knows how to make the perfect poached eggs that go so well with the toast. Sunrise never disappoints! Reliable, consistent, and now hardly ever a wait! Staff is always friendly, the service is great, and the food is fresh and on point! Clean and inviting environment. I do enjoy their French toast but wish they'd serve it with real butter. Typical diner with pretty solid food. I've actually only come for breakfast though I've contemplated getting a patty melt numerous times. French toast, crispy bacon, scrambled eggs. Their potatoes are different. I don't know if I like them that much... Jury's still out. Not sure what seasoning they use on them, or if it's grease? It kind of looks like greasy red- maybe a Sriracha (it's not this) but I can't place my finger on it. read more

Service was great we were seated right away. We were greeted by at least 3 servers. The menu is straightforward, if you love eggs, pancakes, French toast this is your spot. They even accommodated for dairy allergies. If you don't eat meat there are still a lot of good options. The ambiance is large "hall like" dining, but not overly loud. Delicious! My husband got the country fried steak and I got the eggs Benedict. Both were amazing. The servings were large and we both left full. Our server was Jaice. She was super on top of everything. We split a waffle and she brought out the waffle on two plates for us. It was a very nice touch. Overall great place, the ambiance is super quaint and lovely. We just moved to the area and my realtor was talking so highly of this place. We had to have our carpets cleaned and so we decided to come here for breakfast. Upon entering, the sign said to seat ourselves at a clean table, so we did. We sit and look at the menu and are greeted by a friendly waitress. I didn't see a name tag and she never told me it, but I did ask her what's popular and she told us. I ended up with the pancakes and my husband got the the bagel sandwich. I actually didn't like the sweet potato one but the regular pancake one was okay. The eggs and home fries were also just okay. I don't know if we'd come back, there wasn't anything special about the place. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't something I'd put on my must come back before I move list. read more

First timer at Sunrise Grill. While visiting the Augusta area, we always like to try the favorite restaurants of locals. This place is definitely a local favorite for Breakfast! We arrived before 9 am (which means we just beat the crowd). The restaurant is very large, with ample seating in the waiting area (church pews to sit on and I believe there was a coffee station while you wait to be seated). Decor is vintage country i would say?? Lots of country signage and roosters! :). In my opinion it could use some updated flooring/and sprucing up in general. I like the charm of the place, however a few cosmetic changes would improve the experience. The server was friendly and provided great service. Food arrived quickly, was hot and was correct. I had scrambled with cheese - they were ok, a bit too runny. Bacon was good - average. The waffle was hot and tasty. I requested light onions on my hash browns - wow still a-lot of onions. My friend enjoyed her meal. I cant recall if her meal was an omelette or burrito? They offer breakfast and lunch. They accepted the 10 percent discount that the Yelp Ap provided. read more

Much like Pamm J. we ended up at the Sunrise Grill because Metro Diner had an hour wait. I am glad they were full and we were able to discover this spot! They are the representation of small town diner and the food was hot and fresh! The restaurant is open and the wait staff were friendly and the service was quick. The kids thought that the use of a tablet to take orders was cool and that made the food come out even faster. Having a breakfast spot in Augusta like this easily rivals Metro Diner in quality.
