We started with the Satay Chicken and the Crab Mandalay. Both were delicious. For dinner I had the Pad Thai Me Up with pork and a level 3 heat, which was probably mild to medium. The food was excellent. For my cocktail, I had the Hokkaido Mule. Very good drink. Our service was top notch. We will definitely be back on our return trips.

It's a standard diner with several booths and tables. They installed a windbreak (double doors) so everyone in the restaurant doesn't freeze when someone comes in in the winter. The food is terrific. I started going there because of their Channa Saag (vegetarians, pay attention). It's creamy and I usually get it mild but you can have it with as much heat as you want. Their naan is huge and I'm partial to their garlic naan which costs a bit extra, but worth it if you like garlic. I've dined in plenty of times but in the past few years I've just done carryout.

It's parking lot is easy in-easy out and has a very large facility. Upon entering you order at the counter from a large menu posted on the wall. They will bring you your selections to the table or carry out counter. The Mad Anthony brewery has an attractive looking bar inside as well. The team here was very friendly and helpful. The facility is very clean, orderly and attractive. The menu is fairly large but perhaps difficult to understand since it is posted on the wall. Cost is fair and moderate. Here is a recap of our food choices: -Wings: predominant smokey flavor, fried and dipped in one of 8 sauces. The wing was nicely cooked - no pink insides. The skin of the wing was a bit cripsier than i would prefer. The Alabama White sauce is mayo based, slightly sweet with not much seasoning or spice. It made the wings nicely moist. The teriyaki sauce is bold, thicker and has a slight back end kick to them. -Cole Slaw: nice fresh and crisp larger slaw pieces, thin mayo base, sligtly sweet but a bit watery -Macaroni salad: thin mayo base that actually came off also a little watery, elbow noodles were cooked perfectly, side veggies had a nice crunch to them, sauce was mildly sweet -Chicken tenders: moist and tender, no real Smokey taste detected, seemed to come off a little dry and tough -Corn "spoon" bread: mild corn taste, bread was moist and sweet, nice blend of corn bread and corn casserole -Tomato & Cucumber salad: very fresh and tasty. My husband and I came here for a date night, and I was a bit disappointed -- it felt like a regular casual Chinese restaurant, not somewhere you'd dress up for. Second, the portion sizes didn't quite match the price tag. For the same style of authentic Chinese restaurant with a similar setup back in Cincinnati, I could get a lot more food for a lower price. New lunch menu? I said oh great, what have you taken away from lunch now? But no. They actually added some things back to the menu. Surprised the heck out of me. Tuna nigiri was one thing that was added along with some better rolls. The salmon nigiri and tuna were both really, really good. I had 16 pcs. of nigiri, couple rainbow rolls and some other spicy roll which I forgot to have them leave off the spicy sauce. I'm not much of a sauce person. It covers the delicate flavor of the fish. If Kanpai keeps going in this direction, they should and deserve to win back some business.
