Spicy orange chicken w/ egg fried rice
    Sara J.

I have to I was very disappointed . I ordered spicy orange chicken with egg fried rice , vegetable tempura & egg drop soup . The spicy orange chicken had no spice or flavor and the chicken was very tough . The rice seemed like it was old and was very dark in color . The egg drop soup didn't have much flavor either and my side salad had lots of brown pieces of lettuce . Tempura was good . I will give it another try but order something different next time

October 8, 2017 Sunday - 12:30 PM for lunch 1 Adult and a teenager Atmosphere - 4 stars Food - 4 stars Service - 5 stars Background - My daughter wanted some sushi while I was in Savannah visiting. Originally we were planning on going to the Asian River but they were closed for their move. So Yelp help me find this place. Atmosphere - Tiny strip mall next to a laundromat. Tiny place, three tables for 4 people and two more tables for 2. Order at the counter, not waiter service but if you eat in they bring you the food. With the other classic Asian foods the place reminded me of one of the tiny Chinese diners. Food Drinks - Bottled water, Dasini. Lunch - We ordered four rolls, the price was very reasonable. I love the little amount of rice. These are some of the cheaper rolls that we ordered; Philly, Tuna, and California Special. The pricy one was the Volcano and well worth it. The fish could have been a little fresher but I enjoyed the rolls Service - Our cashier was or sushi chef, busy guy. Must of the business was take out. Future - Yes.

Typical Chinese restaurant layout upon entering- except it's Japanese. A few small tables and chairs

QUALITY WAS PRETTY GOOD FOR CHEAP AND QUICK [Warning: young adults from Central Florida here for just a visit] The better bang for the buck were the regular sushi options which seemed to average from $3.50-$4 a roll no matter whether it was raw or cooked. Specialty rolls were around $7. If you had a sushi craving, this was a great way to fill up without going broke. Our spicy tuna wasn't dinky in size either. Obviously the quality matched the price. UDON DISHES WERE ON THE SALTY SIDE We also tried the House Udon Stir Fry as well as the House Udon Soup. We received a mountain of food with plenty of leftovers for the next day. Unfortunately, both these items were very salty and we were crazy thirsty while eating it. Perhaps a combo of these qualities made me tire of the dish very fast. SERVICE WAS OKAY We ordered through the phone and went to pick it up at the appropriate time-- yet still had to wait an additional 5+ minutes. Not a killer, but not cool either. The layout inside is very similar to a Chinese takeout with a handful of uncomfy, small tables for dining in.

    Steamed dumplings

Came here for late lunch and the place was completely empty, I think most people order food to go but we decided to eat there. For appetizer, we got the steamed dumplings, which were great. I loved them and totally recommend ordering a plate, which is enough to share between two people. For sushi, we got the oyster roll which was good too. My friend loved it! For entree, we decided to share the chicken teriyaki, which comes with rice and a side salad. It was good except the amount of teriyaki sauce was way too much for the amount of meat and vegetables in it. I wish it had more chicken but it was still tasty. Great portion that can be shared easily. For all the above we only paid $20, which was a great price for the amount of food u get. The place has limited seating, only three dining sets. Overall, a great experience and I definitely recommend the place if you're craving some New York style Chinese food.

Terriaki Chicken - delicious sauce, very tender meat. The fried rice not so good.

First time visiting, I wasn't sure what to get. Decided on the lunch special. The wait was a bit long but I think there was only one cook in the back. I got the terriaki chicken. I would definitely order it again but not with the fried rice, the rice seemed undercooked and it had very little flavor. For lunch it's more than enough food. I would like to visit again and try a few other items from the menu.

Love this place! Lin at the Front counter is awesome! They opened up around the same time I moved here a few months ago and I've only had GREAT food ever since! My first experience was a YELP pick-up and they were on-point with time, taste & everything was FRESH & HOT! I've tried many Asian food places all over Savannah and this place is my TOP! Sesame chicken is my favorite but their Lo-mein noodles are a close second favorite! Start here for some great Asian food in Savannah! :D

this is the best japanese food i have had in savannah. everywhere ive been has been way too overpriced for mediocre food. what i had from tokyo japnese cafe was simply amazing. ive been looking for a place that has a tofu entree since i dont eat meat, i got the spicy orange tofu. it was so good. all the sauces are unique and ive never tasted anything like them. the yum yum sauce (im assuimg thats what it was) was almost smoky. i dont know how to explain but the guys in the kitchen know what they are doing. eat here if you are looking for good japanese food in savannah. you wont regret it. EDIT: i also got the vegetable tempura and they fried an entire mushroom. ive never had that before and it was seriously so good.

House fried rice and spicy salmon roll. Yummy.

We had their crispy spicy tuna appetizer with crispy square rice on the bottom and they were so good. For the main entree I ordered their butabara kimchi ramen and it was what I needed, the broth was rich, savory, and the kimchi really brings the broth flavor more dimensional. The ramen noodle texture was cooked to perfection and the pork belly paired so well in this ramen. My husband ordered the A5 wagyu rib eye and the steak melt in your mouth. We sprinkle the sea salt and dipped it in the quail yolk dashi juice and it was perfection! It is definitely a gem restaurant for Savannah! Truly amazing food experience!

Ukiyo is a Japanese restaurant with a ramen bar and is a very hip urban Japanese spot in Savannah…read more The lights dimly lit and the main entrance includes a massive fully stocked bar. There's a great selections of Japanese Whiskey, Sake and cocktails. We had a reservation and when we entered it was a bit confusing with people all over the place in the entrance not sure whether waiting to speak to the hostess or just casually waiting to be called for their table. After getting sorted we spoke to the hostess and then were shortly seated. The waiter came and took our drink orders right away. We got 2 cokes and a Whiskey Sour with Japanese Whiskey. After waiting about 15 min the waiter came back to take our food order, however we still had not gotten our drinks. We asked and said they were coming swiftly. Finally after 10 minutes later our drink orders came in. The cokes were flat but the Whiskey Sour was really good. I can't remember the waiters name but honestly she came by maybe 4 times the whole night and did not have the best attitude. The best thing about Ukiyo hands down was the food. Everything from the Ramen to the wagyu bao buns, just Wow. The wagyu was so crispy and just melted in your mouth. The ramen had amazing flavor profiles and was perfectly spiced. We also ordered the Chicken Karaage and this was so tender with the citrus mayo. This was also pretty big so were easily filled with all these dishes. The food and cocktails were amazing but the service really did disappoint from the delays and infrequent interactions.
